@Northernsoul90 wishing you that you get your BFN ASAP so you can TTC again! I haven’t even done any pg tests yet maybe I should check as I would have been 13w now but baby stopped growing at 6w. How long should you wait before doing a pg after the MVA/ERPC - do you know? All the best. Xxx

VP91x · 11/07/2020 10:24

@MichT4 hopefully as there is no cramping or pain then everything might still be okay, but I know that this point probably not comforting regardless. Focus on having a nice day if you can, then tomorrow you will have more bloods and a bit more of an answer ❤️

They are being mischievous and sniffing around, had to put them back in the hutch as I decided to scrub the kitchen floor - old school style 🤔

@Firevie so sorry for your loss, it really is heartbreaking. I had an ERPC after my MC and it really was fine (considering the circumstances) all the nurses and everyone were so so lovely and caring. I was in at 9am and home by 11.30am. It isn't loads of GA they use so you'll be awake again within 45-50 mins. I hope it goes okay ❤️

@1990EM thank you🥰 how are you feeling xx

OP posts:
Northernsoul90 · 11/07/2020 10:32

@Firevie Thank you! I was told to test 3 weeks after the mva, I think you will probably be advised to test 2-3 weeks after. I would think that you will still get positives until after your procedure, with my mmc the pregnancy sac was still growing and increasing the hormones in my system xxx

SmileyT · 11/07/2020 10:34

@VP91x well funnily enough I completely lost my shit this morning at OH as I made him watch YouTube videos of the hospitals and he kept making ridiculous comments throughout like 'ooh can tell she is matron definitely looks like one' 🙄 and don't know why it just really aggravated me 🙈 so will leave the hospital chat for another day with him. I've only ever been to NM once and that was for my MC as had reassurance scans near work in the city so just feels tarnished but Whipps is the next one and is in the middle of a refurb on maternity so I dunno, don't need to decide for another few weeks 🤞

@MichT4 ahh shit that the spotting is still there it is so frustrating, but it isn't getting any heavier so that is a plus sign and you'll get some answers tomorrow. the line was stronger than the last one which I'm taking as a positive x

@Northernsoul90 I'm glad the test isn't showing too positive anymore, if that's with a 10ul sensitivity it would actually probably show negative with a hospital urine test which is a great sign. When will you start the opks? Xx

@Firevie I'm so sorry for your loss, I also had the ERPC and had never really been into hospital before, let alone been in surgery or under GA but from my experience I found it very quick and didn't have much bleeding afterwards, although I know every situation is different. My Dr told me that I could start ttc as soon as bleeding stopped but it did take me 4 cycles to conceive again but loads of ladies here have got lucky without a period in between but definitely do what you feel comfortable with. One thing I would say is ask all the questions you are thinking about when you go in, I felt so lost I came home afterwards and wasn't even sure i knew what happened next... if it wasn't for these lovely boards I wouldn't have even taken a hpt afterwards. This is a safe space so feel free to come in whenever to ask questions/ vent ❤️

Firevie · 11/07/2020 10:34

@Northernsoul90 many thanks for sharing the information. It must be so hard to share information such as this but I do greatly appreciate it. You’re right - my sac hasn’t reduced in size it is all there so will prob wait 2-3 weeks before testing. Didn’t realise that the period only starts after you’ve tested negative but obv all makes sense. I just always put myself under so much timing pressure. I need to get a grip of that! Xxx

Northernsoul90 · 11/07/2020 10:35

@Bellabubble they are so cute!! 🥰

@MichT4 So frustrating for you about the spotting. Try and keep occupied today before your bloods tomorrow. It's so easy to say keep busy etc I know you won't be able to stop thinking about things. Sending hugs and positivity 💕

MrsK21 · 11/07/2020 10:36

@Firevie sorry you've suffered a loss 💔 I hope whatever procedure you get done, it goes as well as can go.

@Northernsoul90 that's great to hear your tests are much lighter now. If it's a real squinted I'd say your hormones would have levelled out by the time this weekend is over 🤞🏽
I forgot to take my temp this morning 🤦🏽‍♀️ this will take some getting used to for sure!

@fafi @smileyT just downloaded fertility friend, I'm onto 3 apps now 🤦🏽‍♀️ thank you for convincing me!

@micht4 sorry you've woken up with more spotting. Is it still brown tinge or brown stringy discharge/ any clots? Sorry for the tmi. I get what what you mean about not wanting it there for Sunday's appt. I really hope it stops soon. Sending you a big hug xxx

Firevie · 11/07/2020 10:36

@VP91x thanks so much for sharing and sorry to hear you had to go through the same horrible experience! May I ask how long it took you to get a BFN after your procedure and how much longer after the BFN you got your period? @Northernsoul90 has already given me great information. I’m just curious how long it took you after the ERPC. Also interesting that they don’t use much GA - didn’t realise. My surgery is at 5.30pm on Tuesday so guess will be home by 10ish.. xxx

MrsK21 · 11/07/2020 10:39

@smileyT please don't go to Whipps Cross. That's where I went for all my EPU stuff and more recently for my lack of AF. The facilities are horrendous, the staff are not caring in the slightest and extremely dismissive as it seemed to be entirely staffed by agency people. The doctors also only come to EPU once or twice a week so I was left in limbo a lot. When I had the MC they also didn't communicate to the mat dept and I'm still getting letters now. I honestly can't in good consciousness recommend it to you.
It's only 5 miles from me but next time I'd rather do a 20 min drive to the next available hospital

Firevie · 11/07/2020 10:39

@SmileyT - thanks so much for your message! as sad as it is that you’ve all also gone through this weirdly enough I find solace and comfort. I’m sorry! How far along are you now? And as I’ve asked the other ladies - how long did it take you to get a BFN? And then how long did it take you to get your first period? All the best for you! Great tip re questions - I’ve made a list to take into the hospital 🤣

Northernsoul90 · 11/07/2020 10:41

Thank you @SmileyT @MrsK21 I thought the same I'm hoping they will be completely gone over the next couple of days. Well I was thinking of starting opks on Monday just cheap ones I don't want to waste cb as I could be doing them for ages. Otherwise I wouldn't know when to start really unless I treated day of negative test as cd1 but then again I don't want to do that and then miss my peak?

@MrsK21 I'm still trying to get used to the temp... I keep forgetting as well 🙈 hopefully by the time I'm ovulating I've got into a habit of using it!

VP91x · 11/07/2020 10:47

@SmileyT men can be so ridiculous sometimes with what they say especially when you're super hormonal and anything will aggravate you. Yeah, hopefully he will focus on the hospitals. What about Barnet? I had a great experience with Bella. Depends if you drive though really. Lots of time to decide xx

@Firevie I actually never took a HPT after my ERPC because, I had a bit of a complication. I only bled the next day after the procedure very lightly and then nothing but my tummy was super tender and really hurt if I touched it/walked/bent over etc. My GP gave me antibiotics, a week or so later I started heavily bleeding and passing clots. So EPU re-scanned and found a fair amount of retained tissue. They offered another ERPC but in between waiting for it (it was NYE the retained tissue was confirmed) a few days later I passed the rest, had large clotting etc. Bleeding stopped after a couple of days. Didn't ever think to do a test! I then got my period on Feb 14th. So all in all, about 8 weeks after my procedure? Sorry my experience seems more complicated than the normal. Most of them go without any issue xx

OP posts:
Firevie · 11/07/2020 10:49

@VP91x oh no I’m so sorry to hear this! As if this whole thing wasn’t bad enough and then a complication! I’m scared!!!! Eek! Xx

VP91x · 11/07/2020 10:52

@Firevie no don't be, I read statically it is not very common to have retained tissue after xx

MichT4 · 11/07/2020 10:56

@MrsK21 @Northernsoul90 @VP91x @SmileyT thank you all for being so lovely. I’m not hopeful, my boobs don’t hurt at all. I just want to know now.

I feel really pissed off to be honest. I’m gutted I’m even having to be saying any of this. I don’t know I can do it again. Think there’ll be some thinking to do if it’s not good news tomorrow

Sorry to be negative. I feel like a useless human being xx

VP91x · 11/07/2020 11:01

@MichT4 you are absolutely not a useless human, it breaks my heart you would think that way about yourself. If this is happening again, I'm so so incredibly sorry, but it absolutely not your fault. It's so cruel. Also don't apologise for posting, we are all here to support you ❤️

HE88 · 11/07/2020 11:02

@VP91x thanks for the new thread and your bunnies are very cute. Xx

@MichT4 sorry the spotting is still happening please don't feel useless our bodies can be so cruel on us, I'm really hoping for positive news for you tomorrow. Xx

Northernsoul90 · 11/07/2020 11:18

@MichT4 I can't really say it better than @VP91x if this is happening again it is absolutely not your fault and please do not think your are a useless human. We put so much pressure on ourselves and our bodies but there is absolutely nothing you can do/could have done. I'm hoping and praying for you that you get a positive outcome tomorrow and we are all here for you whatever happens ❤️

Lollol86 · 11/07/2020 11:35

@MichT4 if you are going through this again
It is so cruel but it is absolutely in no way your fault. This was my second mc and I said I’m definitely not going through this again but I grieved and realised that I want this more than ever so back on the bus. Look after yourself and do whatever you need to do. Sending massive virtual hugs ❤️❤️

Firevie · 11/07/2020 11:47

@MichT4 - sorry just jumping on the bandwagon here. Read your comment and just wanted to say please don’t think you’re useless! I know it’s hard to not blame yourself but please be kind to yourself. Sending positive vibes and lots of strength your way xxx

MichT4 · 11/07/2020 11:55

Thank you ladies @VP91x @HE88 @Lollol86 @Northernsoul90 @Firevie. Your thoughts and messages mean the world.

I just feel crushed by the whole thing. Trying to keep positive after a week of spotting on and off has taken its toll and I think I need some mental preparation for what I think is coming.
I know I should remain positive and I’ll be over the moon delighted if I’m told it’s ok. I just think this is going to really mess with my head. I’m already terrified to see another bfp, just don’t think they like to stay in there xx

Lollol86 · 11/07/2020 12:02

@MichT4 you are right you should stay positive, but we all know how hard it is when you have spotting especially when you have been through it before.

SmileyT · 11/07/2020 12:04

@MrsK21 haha I love FF so I'm glad you downloaded it 😆 I was up to 9 apps by the end but I've deleted 2 now which I think is a step forward, feel weird not updating data all day. And thanks so much for sharing your experience with Whipps, I was born there(obvs many decades ago) and OH was born at North Middlesex but the experience with my MC has put me off (but it was the day before lockdown went into force so they had no staff) but think the facilities are better. So I'll keep looking x

@Firevie I only got my BFP on Wednesday so still super early, happy but obviously nervous as hell. I definitely found it so helpful to join this thread and hear peoples stories when I had my MC as awful as it is there is so many people affected. I took a test 2weeks after and it was a faint positive and I didn't test again and my period arrived exactly 31 days after surgery, I got a peak opk (if you use them) 18 days after surgery, so think I ovulated straight after negative test. Normal cycles were around 28 days and after MC were 31, 27, 28 and I was set for 26 days this month xx

@VP91x yeah men can be plonkers can't they all sorted now though ☺️ and unfortunately don't drive at the moment as never really needed to we will get a car next year but for appts I'll probably be coming from work in the city so trying to think of that x

@Northernsoul90 yeah Monday on the cheapies sounds like a good plan, a faint positive on a 10ul probably won't affect the opks too much x

@MichT4 you are not a useless human, my boobs dont really hurt today and with your spotting I definitely understand the worry. Just think it's only 1 more nights sleep until you get some answers and whatever happens you can cope with this and if it is not good news please remember it is not our fault these things happen ❤️❤️

fafi · 11/07/2020 12:23

@SmileyT omg you only got your positive on Wednesday? It feels like so much longer than that 🙈 just goes to show how slowly my TWW is going! But hey, we shouldn't wish our lives away but it's too easy when TTC.

@MichT4 you're stronger than you think. This time tomorrow you'll know more and hopefully we will all be celebrating! Even if the news is not what we want you WILL get through it! I think the unknown is making everything feel even worse for you right now xx
