Getting really discouraged 😔 it has been almost a year of TTC and I'm really down about it. I know stress isn't good for TTC either

I'm so sorry - that is a long time no wonder you're feeling down. Have you spoken to your GP?

Whilstwewait · 10/07/2020 08:06

Hi ive hit the year mark and felt exactly the same as you so ive set up a thread for those going through the same if you want to join for some support xx

It's so tough, isn't it? You get told all your adult life to take precautions because you'll get pregnant if you even think about sex, then you come to trying and... Nothing happens. Once you've been trying for 12 months (6 if you're over 35), speak to your GP who can do tests and refer you on for further investigaton. It helped me reduce stress because it felt like something was happening. I second @Whilstwewait's thread, it's a fab little support group.

I’ve just got bfp , had three mc in a year so not excited unfortunately just terrified . I just wanted to let you know I was probably the most stressed I’ve been this cycle ( I got food poisoned on implantation week and I was a week away from ivf which I was dreading ) just wanted you to know that I really don’t think stress effects it ( although google will tell you otherwise no doubt) I hardly slept for the last ten days ! If that’s not stressful not sure what is . Also a 24 year old in great health just got her bfp in another forum I’m on and it took her 18 months . She’s about 7 weeks now . You can always get yourself checked out if incase there’s something obvious but it might just take more time x

@RMarieClaire yeah I'm going in at the end of this cycle if I still don't get pg.... initial tests for me and semen analysis for him.... was really hoping it wouldn't come to this, so stressful

@PlanBea yeah it's crazy... if I had known it would take this long I would have started ages ago! I'm on the verge of testing (gonna test this round if no luck) and I'm not sure whether it'll feel productive or stressful lol

I don’t know if it makes any difference but I took royal jelly and evening primrose oil the month before this pg. As I got to 6dpo I also had some spare progesterone pessaries and used them. I’m being monitored this pg and my progesterone is struggling and taking progesterone injections now on top of pessaries . Perhaps that’s something to look at - progesterone levels . Mine were always low when tested after ovulation . It thickens the lining ready for implantation so if too low that can affect things . Good luck xxx

@Sunshinelove8 thank you so much. I'll admit I don't know much about either for conception...! I had been googling as I don't seem to get EWCM any more and saw evening primrose mentioned a lot... is this what it's for primarily?
