Hello, just a new thread for August...will add people as and when they finish with the 'July pact'

I think it's important to have a relevant thread once you are looking forward and gearing up for the next cycle...
Or chat turns to tww's when we will want to start chatting about ovulation again...

Will run both threads alongside each other ❤️

CD10 for me and a blank circle on the OPK. I might test tonight as I got my peak on CD11 last time. Aiming to DTD every day now probably until Friday. Coincides with my DD seemingly giving up sleep.

Sansa87 · 21/07/2020 09:57

@kirinm Thankyou. They said I had to call in 24 hours if they hadn’t worked (they should work between 6-12 hours) I’m hoping they will let me try again. I wouldn’t mind the surgery under general, but I don’t think I can deal with it under local.

bh2210 · 21/07/2020 10:04

Anyone else furiously testing with OPKs......?! No, just me?!
I'm CD14 and right in zone and it still seems to give a low(ish) reading. Potentially 3 days to go until 'peak'. Poor husband looks knackered with all this dtd. I'll give him some time off in August GrinGrin

kirinm · 21/07/2020 10:05

@sansa87 - mine was under general I didn't realise they even considered it under local. Is that covid related or something else?

claireb707 · 21/07/2020 10:06

I got a flashing smiley this morning, we're trying smep this month so it's all going OK so far. And hopefully should be done in good time before his sperm analysis which is booked for next Friday 🤞

Rotagilla · 21/07/2020 10:13

Good morning ladies, back from a little holiday...refreshed and chilled out.
Will update spreadsheet today as I see we have lots of new ladies, welcome to you all!

My app says ovulation was yesterday but my oh brought an expensive wand thing and I'm still getting no smiley faces. I ovulated 2 days late last month so maybe the same this month.
I worry when it changes all the time...it throws the af date out and I don't know when to test.

@Sansa87 all my love to you. I do hope you are ok ❤️ we are all here for you x

What is the wand thing @Rotagilla? Glad you're feeling refreshed and chilled though.

Sansa87 · 21/07/2020 10:20

@kirinm it’s due to covid they won’t to general 😔

They’ve said to go back in at 11 to get another dose of the tablets up the vag, so fingers crossed they work, as oh can’t take any more time off work after today.

whambam89 · 21/07/2020 10:20

@rotagilla is that the clearblue digital ovulation kit? I found they really took the stress out of it last month (although not the stress of the TWW haha)

LeopardLover · 21/07/2020 10:42

@PlutosHeart Welcome! It's so hard, isn't it - when you hear of women falling pregnant unintentionally or on their first try. Are you using OPKs?

@kirinm Sounds like a plan!! Fingers crossed you get peak tonight.

@claireb707 I'm so intrigued by this - I'm not sure how it works exactly? Yay for tests though!

@Rotagilla I hope you had a good holiday 😊

LeopardLover · 21/07/2020 10:45

@Sansa87 Sorry to hear you're still waiting, I hope the second dose helps. Take care of yourself. Xx

The smep? I was intrigued too but it's been successful for a lot of people so thought it worth a try.

Basically dtd every other day from cd8, start opk testing from day10 (though I started yesterday too) and then dtd 3 days in a row when you get a peak opk. Have a day off then a final go for good measure.

It's apparently supposed to be good if you have male factor issues so 🤞🤞

@whambam89 and @kirinm it's the clear blue digital ovulation test...
I've been using the cheap internet ones and I can't see the benefit of this expensive contraption as it's just telling me what a little strip would?
But I suppose it's good to have a visual.

I think we will end up effectively doing SMEP just because of my cycle length. I'm not sure I have the energy for the "one for good measure" one though.

PlutosHeart · 21/07/2020 10:55

I'm using opks, my cycles have been pretty predictable fortunately for me so far, I could almost say for sure what day I will ovulate this cycle without using any apps. My only issue is pain, like period pain, for a few days after I ovulate.

kirinm · 21/07/2020 10:59

I'm a convert but only to the cheaper variety of clear blue OPKs. I think I know when I ovulate so I'm not going to end up having to do 10 tests and it is nice to get a peak so you get confirmation. I'm hoping I won't need to do more than 5 tests this month and then the £16 doesn't seem quite as much. Plus, much less guess work involved than the strips.

whambam89 · 21/07/2020 11:20

@rotagilla is it the advanced one with the flashing smileys? I found it better because I knew my FW was starting as soon as I got a flashing smiley whereas I found the IC ones a bit harder to read - only knew when I was at my peak

bh2210 · 21/07/2020 11:26

Thanks @claireb707 ! I have been accidentally doing this.... never knew there was a specific plan. Good to know I've succeeded in following it to the letter...!

I'm so sorry @Sansa87, it's dreadful enough to go through without having the process drawn out longer. I hope the new pills work, and you can try again as soon as you want and feel able to X

LeopardLover · 21/07/2020 12:05

@claireb707 Would peak be classed as static smiley with the CB OPK? I'm assuming so! We pretty much did this last month but missed CD8. It was exhausting for OH but hey ho. Needs must 😅

Yes 😁

LT103 · 21/07/2020 13:33

Sorry I joined this chat then been so busy I’ve not said a thing. Hope everyone is doing ok!!!
I’m cd13 and just got my peak opk. Oh had to go away for work today but managed to dtd last few days and last night so 🤞. Af due 5 August. Will see how long I hold out before I test 🙈🙈

MrsBtobe2020 · 21/07/2020 17:21

I'm using the cheap stick opks for the first time this cycle. Came off the pill in May so don't actually know if I have previously been ovulating so I've been testing every day for the last week... I've seen a slight increase over past 2 days (im cd12 and ov predicted for cd16), does this sound right? Trying to follow smep but basically just dtd every other night!
