@lucyrp @katao @KateColx I totally agree I think most of these tests (especially pink dyes) are the result of chemical pregnancies or an egg attempting to implant and failing straight away- that mixed with that little science thing in the old thread that we do have a baseline level of HCG makes me think a positive however faint is a positive!

@katao loool I wish an early pregnancy test would lower my expectations but knowing most of us - we would probs be like it's too early to test, try again tomorrow! I'm a POAS addict and would probs test after AF comes as well thinking it's a bit of implantation 🤣🙃

@mococo1 fellow poas addict here and i definitely tell myself its too early yet etc etc but each bfn lowers my expectations. Like right now I'm 2 days late for af and got a bfn this morning which would have been heartbreaking if I'd waited to test until late because I'd be convinced I was pg but because I did a few tests from 11dpo and all negative Im gradually accepting it.

@Katao I agree, if I didn't test early and waited until late of be gutted. I'd completely be convinced it would be a bfp.

@2alreadywantanother ya I need the soft letdown. I'm mean I'm still not convinced 😂 sitting here with nausea for like the 5th day in a row thinking wtf!

@2alreadywantanother @katoao Thants a brilliant way of putting it- so the disappointment is gradual rather than a big shock of oh I'm not pregnant and tbh it's helping you mentally cope as well (because let's face it most of us are emotional messes after a bfn disappointment)

@lucyrp it really is very sad ☹️ but In a way I'd rather people complain about their tests being dodgy than for them to realise and be even more upset that they were actually a little bit pregnant.

Wouldn't it be amazing is we could POAS and it give an actual value for your HCG!? Or like one of those sugar glucose tests with a blood pin prick that flashes levels of HCG/LH- no one would argue with blood tbh x

Well I've just agreed to mind my sisters kids fri night and will leave my 2 with her then the sat night so me and DH can have a date night 😍 and if af arrives I'll get a dirty big pint or cocktail lol
We haven't had a night off since march, with the lockdown plus shes the only 1 that will take them over night. So even if we have a sitter it's in our house. So be nice to switch off for once

@Balajake not majorly I had read the smep so we did every other day as soon as af left the building and then every day during the FW well there was one day that week we missed but did both LH high days and the day after. I had never heard of smep until I joined MN. X

@Katao I personally really rate FRER but I guess everyone is different I think the lines on the back sometimes show through and can be misleading if you're really searching for a squinter but all tests get evap lines my CB hasn't picked up BFP today only the FrER x

@notyetamumbuttrying my main meeting of the day cancelled which was an absolute result after a 2hr commute in because the Victoria line decided to break 😩 and decided to leave an hour early as compensation to myself 😂

@Minster2012 I was luckily sick into the toilet haven't perfected the tic tac aim out the top end yet.., if I get horrendous morning sickness I will get on the practising 😂

@Vil10 so femometer is saying I'm 12dpo based on temps but Fertility friend is saying 9dpo so I'm going on the latter.

@Katao late to the party on this one but I read a really interesting post by a Dr or something on tests and they said that false positives are so very unlikely because if it doesn't pick up any hcg than it wouldn't have a pink/blue line BUT there is a percentage of eggs that get fertilised don't implant properly and then also people look at tests that I would class as negative and because they see a shadow convince themselves that it's positive because they want it so bad. But having read through everyone talking about it today I've decided it would be good to know if I'm getting to fertilisation stage so going to do a test at 11dpo with an early response test for the first time out of curiosity 😬

@katao I'm defo buying FRER this month - can't say I've ever had a bad experience as when my lines faded IC also picked it up. I have about 50 IC! 🤣

In my case I think I was staring so hard I was imagining it because there was definitely nothing there when I opened it up 😂 I had a faint a couple of months ago on an ic and that was definitely there, I could photograph it.

Interesting reading about the FRERs I had a couple of faint lines last cycle and lots of symptoms including nausea. My AF arrived 3 days earlier than expected 😩
