Coming off Cerazette and Tracking Apps

Hi I’m new to all this an am learning a lot from these forums!

I came off cerazette about a month ago having been on it for around 10 years with no periods.

No sign of a period yet (in theory due any time now) but experiencing a lot of symptoms (mainly to my boobs!).

I have signed up to Flo to try and understand changes to my body better... anyone know how to record coming off the pill on these apps or do I need to wait for the period?

Would welcome anyone’s experience coming off this pill? Seems very mixed reviews!

Thanks in advance!

I came off in April 2019 after 7 years on Cerazette - was pregnant by the end of the month GrinConfused good luck! X

BPT2019 · 03/07/2020 10:39

It took me ten months to conceive after coming off Cerazette and my periods returned almost immediately so don't panic if it doesn't happen immediately 😊

Sexnotgender · 03/07/2020 10:41

I came off the mini pill about a month ago and also use Flo. Buggered if I know how to put a date for coming off the pill in!

It does feel like a feature they should have.

Sarahp2308 · 05/07/2020 17:29

Hi everyone, I’m new here!

I stopped taking cerazette just under a month ago, it’s been abit crappy lots of crampy but no AF and nausea most evenings!

I am also using Flo to start tracking, I came off it around 2 years ago for about 6 months to TTC but then life took one of its turns and we decided it wasn’t the right time, I don’t remember feeling quite so rubbish last time around so just hoping it passes soon.

Cydney31 · 05/07/2020 17:52

Hey, It took me around 5 months for my periods to return after coming off cerezette. I was a little worried when it didn’t return straight away but in time everything was fine :)

ZZGirl · 05/07/2020 17:57

I came off cerazette four weeks ago and finally got mine after about 3 weeks. I'm using clue to track my dates and I think they're best tracked when AF appears.

Cornertakenquickly · 05/07/2020 18:28

I came off Cerelle a week ago after 2.5 years on it with no period in that time.

First time TTC as well so it's all new. Hoping my period comes soon.

Nice to hear others coming off mini pill and things working out well.

Sarahp2308 · 05/07/2020 19:09

Hoping my AF comes soon too, mainly so I can start tracking my cycle, we are TTC but I don’t want to put too much pressure on it at the same time

ZZGirl · 05/07/2020 20:16

My plan is to let my body get into the swing of regular cycles again before actively TTC

Notnottrying · 05/07/2020 21:16

Hi all!

It seems there are a few of us who have very recently came off the mini pill and are TTC first cycle.....

As luck would(not) have it my period turned up on Saturday (maybe my original post brought it on)! After so long on pill think I've forgotten how it all works! The cramping, back ache, headache, heavy feeling (?) and well let's just say when it rains it pours... it's all just delightful - fun times!

But on a brighter note at least the app seems to have sprung into life telling me all sorts about fertile windows etc....

Anyone know if this window changes with symptoms, or do you just have some fun during the window shown?

As I say, Very new to all this!

I got my period yesterday too! Also forgot how much they suck😂

Sarahp2308 · 06/07/2020 08:46

Gosh, never thought I’d be jealous of people getting thier periods 🤣🤣

20viona · 06/07/2020 08:58

Hey I came off cerezette and got pregnant in 6 weeks! I had one period and then implantation bleeding but at the time I thought it was a second mini period as I hadn't had one for 10 years! Good luck it's super exciting. I used Ovia and Glow to track

Cornertakenquickly · 06/07/2020 10:22

I've been feeling so nauseous the last 3 days. Don't know if it's a PMS symptom that I've forgotten about or something else going on. The smell of cooking bacon is making me gag!

Any ideas?

Sarahp2308 · 06/07/2020 10:37

I have been having the same, feeling very nauseous & the smell of any raw meat 🤢 I’m convinced my whole fridge smells of it, other half can’t smell it.

Alot of other threads say coming off the pill can mimic pregnancy symptoms so maybe something to do with that, whos knows 🤣

Cornertakenquickly · 06/07/2020 10:47

@Sarahp2308 I'm so glad it's not just me. I thought I was going mad. Been frantically googling coming off the pill symptoms to see it it's normal.

Everything smells stronger even the fabric softener I can smell my clean drying washing from upstairs!

Sarahp2308 · 06/07/2020 11:01

@Cornertakenquickly Atleast the nice smells have been exaggerated and not just the ones that turn your stomach 🤣

It’s so interesting/scary how your body reacts to stopping the pill

Cydney31 · 06/07/2020 19:28

Aww good luck with everything. I’m on month 3 of ttc and since my last ovulation I’ve been in a terrible mood, and so so bloated... but it could just be my love for pasta 😂😂 who know ! just got the two week wait now 😬

Cornertakenquickly · 06/07/2020 20:17

@Sarahp2308 Yeah, it's like it's going through withdrawal!

Sarahp2308 · 07/07/2020 08:38

@Cydney31 I think I may have a case of lockdown belly 😂😂

@Cornertakenquickly I know it’s the nausea I can’t stand

Well I definitely had a touch of PMS last night 😂 so I’m hoping AF will rear her head soon

EllaBella87 · 07/07/2020 10:04

Hi,

I'm posting for the first time here as I was reading this thread and feeling a little confused about the whole pill/TTC thing!

I've been off Cerezette for just over a week and went straight into TTC. I didn't do too much research and now reading up realise I should have potentially had a withdrawal bleed by now. I've had cramping and nausea for the last 3 days but no sign of any period.

Is anyone else going straight into TTC and if so what do you do about tracking cycles etc? I've been using Ovia but feel its ovulation dates are not accurate as there's so little data in there. Do I just wait a month then if there's no period do a test??

Sarahp2308 · 07/07/2020 10:51

Hi @EllaBella87 alot of people use protection until they have thier first cycle so they can track ovulation easily, I haven’t me and partner are of the view ‘see what happens’

I have been off for almost a month and haven’t had a withdrawal bleed, I had a small amount of brown discharge (TMI Sorry) but not enought that I would say it was a withdrawal bleed, I’ve also had lots of cramping and nausea, so frustrating! I know 2 women who waited 4 months for thier first periods after stopping the pill 😱

The apps are good if you have the data to put in, you could try ovulation tests until your first period.

Good luck! 😊

EllaBella87 · 07/07/2020 11:56

Yes four months to wait for a period is definitely what worries me!

Me and my OH already had to push back TTC once so had the idea we'd start straight away this time but I had no idea what a mess the pill made your cycle. I was definitely going down the 'wait and see' route too but potentially not having a period is really throwing me off.

Sarahp2308 · 07/07/2020 12:44

We also pushed it back about 2 years ago last time I seemed to just pop straight back into a cycle, this time feels different for some reason!

I’m thinking about just getting a stock of cheap ovulation & pregnancy tests and check until I get back into a cycle, we could use condoms but to be honest I really don’t like them and if it happened straight away it wouldn’t be terrible.

Cydney31 · 07/07/2020 21:18

Don’t worry if your withdrawal bleed takes a little longer, I honestly was getting so worried but all is good now.

@Sarahp2308... I’ve defo put on weight in lockdown and even though I’m eating healthy Could still do with losing about half a stone but I’ll get over it. Part of me think,’is now the time to start dieting if I’m ttc- ultimately I’m hopefully just going to get heavier’ if successful. Speaking of diet etc, is there anything in particular anyone has started to cut out of their diet? Or any ladies with other children any tip of what you’ve found successful before? X
