BFN for me this morning :( unsure when I even ovulated, I really think it was mid last week so if so it would be too early to test anyway! AF due in 4-6 days

SaraVB · 14/07/2020 15:36

I'm currently CD36 still no sign of AF. Usually have 30-35 day cycle but have never gone past 35 days before. I did a test last Sunday so CD34 and got a BFN but still no sign of AF.

The test was a CB digital one which should be quite accurate. I'm trying to assume it's right and not to get my hopes up but it's a bit difficult especially after googling and seeing a lot of reviews of CB digital with false negatives. I've been feeling AF-like cramps for over a week now but it seems to come and go. I'm thinking if AF isn't here by tomorrow I'll try to do another test.

Sorry about your BFN @JTB123 Hopefully it's just too early..

Bam27 · 14/07/2020 18:53

Argg hate to wish away time but I can't wait until I can test! Currently 7-8 days PO.

@JTB123 sorry about bfn💐 hope it is just too early!
@SaraVB good luck with your test 🤞 keep us posted 🙂

SaraVB · 15/07/2020 07:30

Last night on the way home from work stopped and bought a test. It wasn't a particularly good one but all they had available. Couldn't wait until then and did an internet cheapie and thought I saw a really faint line. Not sure if I'm fooling myself at this point...
Took the other test this morning and got results below. Do you see anything or am I losing my mind?

@SaraVB I see a second line 🙂 it's looking good 😃

SaraVB · 15/07/2020 08:45

oh thanks @Bam27 wasn't sure if I was just seeing something because I wanted to. Still a bit worried that the line is this faint on CD37 but I suspect that I may have ovulated around CD25.

I'll try to test again tomorrow or Friday and see if it gets any darker...

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 09:11

Definitely a second line @SaraVB ! The faint ones are hard to pick up in photos but I can easily see that one xxx

Poppyismyfavourite · 15/07/2020 11:02

Ooh exciting @SarahVB!! I had a negative test on day 33 (I normally? have 30 day cycles), then managed to leave it a few days and finally got a faint positive on day 37.

SaraVB · 15/07/2020 11:32

@Poppyismyfavourite oh that's really good to hear and has really done a lot to put my mind at ease. I had a negative on day 34 and normally have 32-35 day cycles.

acaciabluebell · 15/07/2020 15:41

Definitely see a line @SaraVB!! Keep testing, the lines should get darker 😊 the CB digital ones take a while to show positive so don't worry about that one

ALew15 · 15/07/2020 16:50

@SaraVB I see a line too! Mine started out so faint. I tested every day until they got darker. 🤞🏻 crossed for you! Xx

SaraVB · 15/07/2020 17:54

Thanks for the messages @ALew15 @acaciabluebell @Daffodil21.. I'll keep testing until I hopefully get a proper dark line!

Hi all,
Hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread, have been reading through this and the previous one and both have been really informative.
I have just come off the pill yesterday to try to conceive for the first time, we were going to try in the new year but holiday got cancelled and being 34 in September it now feels like no time like the present.
I have been on contraception and haven’t had a normal period since I was 18 after an unplanned pregnancy resulted in termination, so going from religiously trying not to get pregnant to this is quite a shift!
I have started taken well woman multivitamin including the RDA of folic acid and vitamin D etc today. Throughout lockdown I have lost just over a stone (bmi now below 30) I eat healthily, exercise lightly and have reduced my alcohol intake massively. Also going to keep my caffeine below 200mg. Any other tips?
My doctor is calling me tomorrow to discuss.
I don’t want to become stressed around this and let it consume my life but I do want to do all the right things, I am a massive control freak (which I appreciate I can’t be in this situation) but any recommendations for books, apps, blogs etc will also be helpful? I like to feel as prepared as possible.
Also what can I expect after coming off the pill (progesterone only) after so long?
Please may someone also explain to me what all the abbreviations are? So much I don’t know!!
Thanks in advance :-)

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 18:22

Hi @CharWils and welcome.

It sounds like you are doing everything right. It is very very hard not to let it consume you though, but I hope you manage it!

In terms of abbreviations the ones that come to mind:
AF = Aunt Flo
DTD = do the dance/deed
POAS = pee on a stick
OPK = ovulation predictor kit

I actually can't think of any others, but if we use any you don't know - just let us know! And sorry if you already knew the ones above.

I can't offer any advice on coming off the pill, as I haven't been on it for about 8 years (not that that has helped me!), but there are lots of lovely ladies on here who have just come off it who will be able to give you some advice.

Good luck!

Thanks @Daffodil12 (hopefully that has tagged you!)

That is really helpful, Thankyou as the only one I had figured out was TTC as trying to conceive! 😂

I went from absolutely petrified at the thought of it to being completely focused on it overnight once I decided to come off so I feel like trying not to let it consume me will be famous last words! X

CharWils · 15/07/2020 18:42

Would help if I got the number right @daffodil21 ... sorry to whoever @daffodil12 is! 🙈

Milliemoo222 · 15/07/2020 18:59

Hi @CharWils
Welcome! I am a newcomer myself!
I have been on cerelle for about 8 years and recently stopped early April this year. I found that I had a withdrawal bleed and then a proper AF about 6 weeks after, give or take. I have since started having regular cycle, but still a little un sure on how much I trust the timing. My most recent AF was so much shorter than before the pill. I have found that i have slightly changed cycle signs, because I have not had them for so long (I did not really have AF on my pill) so sore boobs and things are a definite!
We have been TTC since I came off, but we have decided to not use OPKs until next month and see how we go while learning about my cycle and signs as we go.
Very excited to get our BFP, but trying so hard to be patient as read that coming off pill can take a while to reset for some people.
Hope that helps, but I am very much learning about this journey!

CharWils · 15/07/2020 19:06

Hi @MillieMoo222

That's helpful as I have been on cerelle since being with my OH (about 5 years) prior to that I had a break for about 3 months after constant implants post termination, where I spotted constantly but with both contraception's have had no periods, can't remember before either so really not sure what to expect!?

What is a BFP?

I am also just going to try with tracking without using ovulation sticks for a while.

I am using the Ovia app but currently obviously don't have anything to track! Should I track a withdrawal bleed? What can I expect from that and when does that normally happen? Is it still a period?

Sorry if these are really naive questions! Hence why I have joined 🙈 x

JTB123 · 15/07/2020 19:24

@CharWils

Hi!!!

Some more that might help!

BFP - big fat positive (pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative
CM - cervical mucus
EWMC - egg white cervical mucus

Xx

JTB123 · 15/07/2020 19:28

@CharWils

More I remembered haha!

BBT - basal body temp (for those that temp to detect ovulation)
MC - miscarriage
OH - other half or
DP/H for darling partner/husband
TWW - two week wait
CB - clear blue
FRER - first response early response ( a type of pregnancy test that can maybe confirm 6 days before missed period)

Xx

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 19:35

@JTB123 ah of course, how could I possibly forget TWW!!

OP posts:
CharWils · 15/07/2020 19:56

Thankyou @JTB123 @Daffodil21

2 week wait I assume is before taking a pregnancy test?

What is everyone's story's here? I'm not sure if that is okay to ask but I'm sure I've probably skimmed over a lot of peoples stuff I shouldn't have and it's good to know likeminded people in this journey if you are happy to share...
Sorry if that has been done to the death!

Is tracking temp advised if trying to stay chill or maybe do after 6 months or so if nothing happens? 🙈

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 20:11

@CharWils yes, the TWW is the time between ovulation and the day your AF is due. I have personally found myself going a little crazy during this time, particularly if I think I've got a couple of 'early symptoms' (which then just turn out to be AF), so if you feel yourself going a little crazy feel free to reach out to us on here!

My story (I'll try and keep it brief!): been TTC for 20 months now, had 2 MCs last year, both close together as I got pregnant again straight away after the first loss. Have been referred to the fertility clinic but no treatment such as IVF etc will be offered until it's been 2 years since a pregnancy, so next year. Very annoying because my pregnancies weren't successful but there you go 🤷‍♀️ I've got an internal scan this Friday, which I've been wanting for over a year so I'm glad it's finally happening. My DH has low sperm morphology, which is the reason for our referral, but fertility doc not concerned about this. That's it really. I've stopped taking pregnecare and now I just eat reasonably well, I'm not doing anymore OPKs, and I'm not doing anymore early testing, I am simply exhausted by it all. We are going to continue TTC for the time being, but we are going to apply for adoption next year if still not pregnant
