@Bam27 my OH is the same, he wants to find out together. If he didn’t, I’d go like 35 without him 😂

@SVC11 sorry to hear AF has shown her face! Don’t stress too much about the LP being, short there’s things you can do to lengthen it? Unless you have had trouble previous to this and it has been successful? Try not to be too disheartened x

acaciabluebell · 12/07/2020 15:44

@Bam27 that's cute that your OH wants to be there for the tests! I don't know if my DH is bothered that I test alone (I know he knows he never says anything).

My FRERs arrived today and I hid them away 😬 too afraid of the disappointment lol

acaciabluebell · 12/07/2020 15:45

Sorry to hear that @SVC11! Hopefully next cycle will be better for you 😊

SVC11 · 12/07/2020 16:24

@Bam27 yeah couple months off the pill so gonna see how I got for the next few months before trying anything other than diet to lengthen the lp. I know it can increase naturally as time goes by. I think it's so easy to compare yourself to others. So many of my friends seem to have got pregnant within 1 or 2 cycles?! Onto the next one anyway! At least short cycles means I don't have to wait as long for af!

Bam27 · 12/07/2020 16:35

@SVC11 Hopefully your luteal phase will continue to get longer. I read somewhere that the herb vitex can help regulate hormones, I was looking at it for regulating my cycle but it also mentioned that it can help lengthen the luteal phase. I think it takes a while to work though, so it might be worth looking into now if it's something you would be interested in trying.

acaciabluebell · 13/07/2020 08:38

Woke up this morning to test and noticed brown blood which I normally get before AF. Absolutely gutted. Just want to crawl back into bed now 😔

Daffodil21 · 13/07/2020 08:50

@acaciabluebell oh no, so sorry to hear. It's cutting, isn't it. Take care of yourself today Thanks

@SVC11 sorry to you too Thanks I don't know much about short luteal phases but it might be worth giving your doc a call?

@acaciabluebell I’m sorry AF is arriving 😔 it’s so disheartening isn’t it but hopefully today won’t be a bad day for you! Next month 🤞🏼

JTB123 · 13/07/2020 09:51

@acaciabluebell so sorry :( I normally get brown 2-3 days before AF also.... would be due it any time this week before suspected AF at the weekend. X

Bam27 · 13/07/2020 10:02

@acaciabluebell sorry about AF 💐

acaciabluebell · 13/07/2020 10:09

Thank you girls.... so AF has started properly already, 2 days early 😔 I normally have a day of light spotting as a 'warning', but nothing this month. I guess this means I have a 12 day luteal phase and not 14-15 like I had thought. Is it normal for LP to change?

I am sooo annoyed at myself because I genuinely felt all these strange symptoms and now I'm wondering if it was just all in my head. I'd never felt as weird as I have this past month. I feel like I've genuinely made myself crazy 😂🤦

Rm20 · 13/07/2020 10:29

@acaciabluebell don’t be annoyed at yourself. It’s so easy to get your hopes up. I think it’s hard when trying for a baby and you get any symptoms, you just automatically hope that’s what it is. I don’t think anyone has a regimented cycle every single month where they have a period, ovulate and luteal phase is bang on every single time? Considering our bodies respond to a number of different factors. At least the lP hasn’t gone below 10. That’s a positive.

CEW19 · 13/07/2020 11:01

Has anyone tried an at home male fertility test? Are they reliable?

JTB123 · 13/07/2020 12:57

I'm now holding off testing now until Friday if AF hasn't arrived by then as she is due I think sometime Saturday-Monday 🤞🏻

Anyone joining me!!

Daffodil21 · 13/07/2020 13:25

@acaciabluebell don't worry, I'm sure most of us have been there. Every single month I go between 'of course I'm not pregnant' to 'oh I could be pregnant because of xyz'. I flir between the two on pretty much an hourly basis. Every twinge which you otherwise would have ignored is magnified so much when TTC. Don't be so hard on yourself, your not crazy xxx

Hi all. Eeks, first time poster on anything like this, but I have been reading lots of posts and has really been setting my mind at ease.
We have been TTC since April when decided to come off the pill. It took me until May to have normal AF again, so last month and this month has been easier to track and understand my cycle. This month I estimated ov around 14th, but today I have noticed EWCM, so will have an early evening tonight Grin really excited to find out if this month we get lucky! AF is due 28th. Silly question, is EWCM a sign of fertile days or the actual ov process? Sorry still v new to this all. Ie is it now too late to try?
Thank you!

acaciabluebell · 13/07/2020 14:29

Hi @Milliemoo222 and welcome. I'm no expert at all but afaik EWCM is a sign of being fertile. So you can get it leading up to ovulation, some people get it for a whole week, some only get it right before ovulating.

There's no way to know if it's too late unless you use some method of testing (ovulation strip, basal body temperature) to know when you've ovulated. But definitely I would recommend DTD as soon when you see ewcm. Good luck!

Milliemoo222 · 13/07/2020 14:37

Thank you! I think if we do not get a positive this month we will start tracking better, just didn't want to get too caught up in it all, already read and go crazy about it as it is! Smile we DTD yesterday, so will today too (sure DH will not mind!)
Routing for you all on here and super glad to be part of this thread! So hard to not feel and think about every twinge and change when TTC, I should calm down about it but it takes over!

Rm20 · 13/07/2020 15:10

@Milliemoo222 welcome to the thread! I’m still relatively new to the group but it’s been so helpful and sharing the experience makes you feel as ease as there our more of us all going through the same thing!

I only started with OPKs the month just gone and I didn’t ovulate until nearly a week after I’d estimated. If you aren’t using them the EWCM is the best thing to go by I think. Good luck! X

Milliemoo222 · 13/07/2020 15:58

@Rm20 - I know we should be, but we really wanted to relax with it in the first few months, but after this month we plan to be better and use OPKs to be more precise.
I think that is why I finally decided to comment because we are all in the same boat and I think my DH gets a little bored of me going on!

@acaciabluebell thank you! I know, it is so hard to understand all the terms and timings and so different for everyone! We really will get there with it, just might need to use some tools to help!

Thank you for welcoming me to the thread!

Rm20 · 13/07/2020 16:21

@Milliemoo222 oh I can definitely relate, my OH is lost when I talk about all the details. Best save it for on the chat 😁

acaciabluebell · 13/07/2020 17:38

I'm actually thinking to avoid the OPKs and just dtd every other day for the next cycle. Might make things less stressful/less obsessing and googling symptoms if I don't know how many DPO I am lol

Rm20 · 13/07/2020 19:26

@acaciabluebell the more I think about it, the more I agree with you. It’s getting a bit too obsessive for me too. I also think my OH thinks I’m losing it a little 🙈 I also don’t want to spend my time looking at calendars and living on Google too!

Milliemoo222 · 13/07/2020 19:35

@acaciabluebell
I think you have to do what is right by you. It is hard to not Google things though, if you find a cure for that please let me know! Grin
