@eppy123 Welcome! I'm sorry you're going through a rough time, even early on into your fertility journey can feel tough so don't beat yourself up about finding it hard!

@RosebudTTC I didn’t know you could take agnus castus and myo-inositol together? I take 400mg agnus castus in the morning, afternoon I take Vitamin D and then in the evening I take folic acid and another 400g of agnus castus.

Well results are in, all normal apart from one thing on my bloods (which I anticipate is a lack of ovulation by day 21), and the lady doctor is going to call me tomorrow.

Does anyone else find they go up and down a pot emotionally just waiting to ovulate with a long cycle? All my apps have changed their prediction of my ovulation date to either yesterday or today despite no peaks in temp and all my opks being negative. I think it's because I had lots of watery and egg white cervical mucus at the start of the week and now I just feel like i'm failing. Almost 100% certain I definitely haven't ovulated yet 🙄🙄

@Rosegold3112 yes I do! Sorry you're feeling crappy x it's a really long and unfair journey compared to others isn't it.

My apps have now recalculated too, predicting ov on Wednesday or yesterday! Exactly as I thought. Really hoping this is it now 😰

Aww thank you for the warm welcomes everyone!

I haven’t been temping, can anyone recommend a thermometer? I’m new to this whole thing so just trying to pick up info and tips as I go along!
I was on the pill for about 7 years prior to that so I guess it will take a while for my cycle to return to normal.
Will definitely be checking in to this thread more often, everyone is really supportive!
Love to all :) x

Well the doctor just called and I now officially have a diagnosis of PCOS. Just had a major breakdown about it as I know it will be a while for us ttc, but I'm also relieved that there's a reason now as I thought I might have it. Bit of a bittersweet feeling. I just knew something was wrong and it couldn't just be the pill.

Hope you're all well x

@Newbie0818 sorry that you have pcos, but like you say at least now you know why your cycles are like they are. I believe there are some supplements for helping to regulate /ovulate with pcos (myo-inositol, I think there's some inositol in pregnacare conception), and I think you can also get clomid from a gp to help ovulate. So don't loose heart, there's still things that can be done to help. I've seen many stories of people getting pregnant with pcos.. Sending big hugs and lots of baby dust to you xx

@Newbie0818 at least you got a diagnosis and know now. My cousin has pcos and had 3 kids no trouble so it's definitely not a given that it will cause issues. Myo insitol has loads of research too for helping regulate cycles/ovulation for pcos 💛

I had loads to catch up on! Took a few days off during AF as you know what it's like when you know you have ages to wait until fw again! Cd11 for me and ov at cd26 last time so won't start on the OPKs yet,
Told DH that we should start DTD every other day now though, he doesn't need to know that fw isn't yet 🤣

@Newbie0818 thanks! Fingers crossed that your temps stay up. Certainly looks hopeful!
I woke up at 5 to another really low temp. I'm now cd 19 so it's going to be another long cycle. I know it's not as long as lots of you but I just broke down went back to bed crying. My cycles were always regular before lockdown and the initial stress of it all is gone so I really can't put a finger on why they have changed now. I will never know if I was ovulating before but I'm so dreading that I'm not now and I'll be stuck with a forever "what if" over my head. Now I just feel really sad, tired and have no motivation for the day. Sorry to moan.
Sorry about your diagnosis as well. I hope now at least you have an answer and available help. Good luck!
@sarahttc2020 I was just reading about pregnacare conception. Do you take it? Reading the reviews I was very intrigued! However some people have claimed its made their cycles irregular so not sure I want to take the risk right now

@Newbie0818 Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, it's totally understandable that you'd be upset. At least now you know though and can explore the options available. I hope you're feeling okay, don't lose heart.

@Eppy123 I'm in the same boat, totally new to this and trying to figure everything out! I'd also like to know what thermometers everyone is using, there seem to be loads on Amazon but it's hard to tell which is best Confused

Thank you ladies. I'm feeling quite sorry for myself today, but like you all said there's ways to help. The gp said dh should do a sperm analysis just in case, and that they could intervene after 18 months (bit long?!) I was going to try some of the herbal remedies next cycle if not lucky this time round. It does explain a lot so I'm a bit relieved in that sense. Thanks for your support ❤️

@Rosegold3112 don't feel silly for crying! It's such an emotional process, and you just need to let it out sometimes. And don't compare to others as we all have our own struggles xx

@Newbie0818 sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Sending big hugs. What happened now? Will they give you some medication to regulate your cycle as they know you are trying for a baby?

@Suki2020 this is the nhs we're talking about, no way haha! No they said if after 18 months no luck then they can help. Really hoping it doesn't get to that point 😨 I'm going to try some herbal remedies next cycle if af comes in two weeks, hopefully not though 🤞🏼

Hi fellow long cycle ladies, new to the thread! I'm 33, DH is 38, ttc for 5 years now Sad

My cycles are usually 33-38 days long. After some investigations last year triggered by my bff telling me she was pregnant (I was so upset and felt like the worst friend ever), we discovered I had hypothyroidism and high prolactin levels which I've been on medication for since August. Docs are pretty sure from various bloods that I am ovulating, but suggested getting a HSG test done to check for blockages etc. DH's tests have come out fine thank god.

On Cycle who knows now, day 28. Apps are telling me I ovulated on day 17 so DTD on days 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 23 for good measure. AF not due until the second half of next week. Had vv light cramps for a couple of days during the week and but I'm thinking they were more imagined than anything. Drove myself crazy the last few days testing (8-11dpo) with nothing but BFNs. Going to try and wait until the middle of next week to test again. When AF doesn't arrive until 18-21dpo it seems silly to expect a second line at the usual 12dpo right? Confused Confused

@jlmul9 welcome! Fingers crossed for you! I'd wait until next week to test again for your sanity - they are meant to be most accurate from the day of your missed period.

Today is an interesting one for me. I woke up at 4:55 this morning and thought I better wait 5 minutes to take my temperature so as not to upset my fertility friend app (even though I can take it all the way up to 5:59 and it would be happy 🙄) and I look up to notice a beautiful sunrise so I get up 2 feet to take a pic. Sit down on my bed to do my temp thinking screw it by now a couple of minutes isn't going to do anything. My temp is 37.31 - the highest its been since before af. Shocked me a bit, especially seeing as yesterday I had a mental breakdown about why my body is out of whack and didn't bd with oh. Also I've been doing opks for the last 5 days at around 1-3pm and all have been very negative with only a barely visible line (which also had me worrying about any sort of hormones my body produces but I'll save that for another time). I have 4 apps I use for charting now (I know obsessive 😅🙄) and I only entered this temp in one. I went for a wee, got back into bed and checked my temp again - now 36.18 which is still high for all my temps this cycle but within range. Its only reached that temp once. I know it could have gone down again by tomo and atm doesn't mean a thing but I'm kicking myself for getting out of bed to take that picture. I've attached the offending specimen 😂 don't even have a nice view but pretty colours.
If it turns out this is the real deal then what are the odds I could have ovulated without getting even a slight hint at a surge on the opks?

Hi girlies :-) I’ve had a read through this thread and it’s so good to know that others have long cycles like me.

My DH and I have been trying for around 14 months with no luck. My cycles are long and I think I usually ovulate around day 25-28. So frustrating.

Do any of you girlies who ovulate late get spotting? I spot brown blood every cycle around days 14-20. It’s defo not ovulation spotting. Anyone know why this happens?

Newbie0818 · 20/06/2020 08:54

@jlmul9 hi :) I wouldn't say so, hcg rises differently for each person so it could be worth testing next week.

@Rosegold3112 that is a lovely picture! And you might just have missed your surge with opk's, it happens very quickly. Wait it out girl, not long x

@Newbie0818 sorry to hear about your diagnosis but hopefully it’s a little bit of clarity for you?

I feel slightly better about this whole process already knowing there are other people out there in the same boat as me - friends and family who have been trying have all got pregnant super quickly (all within 3 months of trying) which probably doesn’t help with me comparing to them!
