@Minster2012 Phew that's the plan so it's good to know you agree with it! My concern with requesting the full benefit package is that with all the jobs I've had, I've never been sent the mat leave benefits as part of that! It's always the standard stuff of pension, car loan, healthcare etc. If I have to request the mat leave info separately I think that would be a massive red flag for them.

I'm super keen to know how long I'd have to be with them to qualify for mat leave. I've been at jobs where you're entitled to it the day you start and others where you're only eligible after a year of working there! Anyway - I'm getting ahead of myself, might not even get it after all! (although I've interviewed with the head previously when she was at another firm and she loved me then - so fingers crossed!)

@Minster2012 very exciting re: the house btw!! when's the viewing booked in for? Our flat valuation came in yday and with corona it's come in at 45k below what our buyers offered! So our house purchase is looking a bit wobbly atm lol.

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm glad you've said that I thought it was just me haha, I'll forever be haunted by the fact that the table place setting weren't how they were meant to be 😂😩 weddings can definitely cause some fall outs, lots of my OH family didn't come and cancelled last minute on us which was irritating and we haven't seen some of them since 😬

@JustMouse aw it's so difficult isn't it! Especially when it's so close to you. It just feels like as soon as you start trying that everyone around you all of a sudden becomes pregnant 😩 hope he's back soon for you 🥰

@Sydgal22 I'm with the other ladies on this... Try a 4 hour hold if you can, but otherwise if you really want to keep testing try and avoid doing it every day as HCG doubles every 48 hours. Fingers crossed all is well 🤞❤️

@Juno231 I found myself in a similar position when I started my current job...I am not 100% happy here if truth be told, but I was commuting from Norfolk to London everyday and I just couldn't see that being sustainable while making babies! So I took the plunge - less money, but also very little travel costs so I'm now breaking even about a year later. It did make us postpone our baby making plans by around 10 months, but working closer to home will make a massive difference to us as and when baby comes along 🤞🤞

@J0DI3 how you feeling today cycle buddy? Only one more sleep until I test now... I've been keeping an eye on my resting heart rate though and it's dropped today, probably in readiness for AF so I think I might be out for another month 🙄

@Minster2012 it was sandwich Ben and jerrys, cookie dough and prep 😍👌👌 amazing and worth every calorie. You see when I'm stressed I either eat or I smoke hah I guess the less evil is eating but I've sure packed on some pounds 😩😭 I lost 9 stone after having my son but 3 of those have crept back on.

So 2dpo for me and my nipples are killllllinggggg me! I hope it means something good but it has happened before so I won't hold out hope, reaaaaaally don't want to be let down again. Pretty sick of crying every month 🤦‍♀️ god I'm being a downer but nearly a year in and I can't help it!!

@Skip86 are you around the same dpo as me chick??

@lucyrp sorry my wording then made no sense. I was wondering if you have stooped using pregnancy test this week?

@juno Definitely go for the interview and prep as if you really want it. If they offer it, you can always ask about maternity, even say that you want it to be in your contract (full maternity after working for them for 6months say) no harm in asking these things.

On the job front, OH got offered a job 10mins from the house instead of his usual 1hr+ commute in March, but then they never sent the contract and now have to wait all because of Corona. We got so excited! All of this has now put house hunting on hold as well as where we want to live is too far from his current job. 😩
@Missgoldilocks I've had a few brakedowns lately, again blaming corona 😂😂 (I think ive managed 3 weeks with no tears this month so far)

@Juno231 i know its ridiculous! although i did take a One step PG test this morning one of the ICs ajd absolutely nothing on there but it wasn't FMU and was like a teeny sample of wee so probably not even worth doing but they came through the letterbox and i couldn't resist 😂 when i stood up from the loo however there was spotting of a pale pink/ light brown in the loo but TMI looked thicker than i would expect blood to be.

@Minster2012 hahah i'm glad i'm not alone 😂 no it's not next week it's literallt the end of the month. she said she wasn't in the office when she rang but she'd ring me at the end of the month to arrange an appointment but she probably won't😂she is a bitch. also so funny you and your friend both booked to see that house when you said you probably would 🤣

@blodyn91 i hadn't done a pregnancy test since last friday until this morning when i did a one step IC one but it was with my third wee of the day and got a BFN so i'm pretty sure AF is on her way although i've never had spotting before AF just cramps the night before and then AF bang first thing the next morning which hasn't happened. i had the cramps last night and nothing yet apart from two spots 😫🤣

also i ordered this last wednesday when i got my faint positive just on the off chance i got my BFP so i could surprise OH on father's day this sunday and its just come in the post 😫

Ooh @Juno231 that is such a tricky one!! Could you take perhaps take 2 months off ttc so that you can still go for the job? Imagine if you come out of the interview loving it! How do you feel about your current job?

@notyetamumbuttrying I really don't like my job after some restructuring last year which meant all my promised career progression disappeared. Now I'm just stagnant in the role and my new boss doesn't have a clue what she's doing which is incredibly frustrating.

Thing is if the job requires you to work there 6 months before telling them you're 15 weeks pregnant (I think it's usually that arrangement) then I'd have to hold off TTC for 6 months, as I have a 3 month notice period and then would have to wait 3 months before starting again. That feels like ages! Especially as it would take me to 33 years old to start again and my mum entered menopause at 31 so I already feel I may have left it too late!

@Juno231 you could always see if the headhunter knows or can get the info without sending red flags? It's in their interest for you to accept the job ;without letting into to the client) they might have the full details, I did for some, sick pay /may leave etc but I totally know what you mean
My viewing is midday tomorrow, theirs is before I think, she didn't know as her hubs had booked it in but they are living in their parents house (they have been for 6 years, her parents live abroad half the year) so we would step aside for them we certainly wouldn't compete, we love our house we'd just like a bigger better plot. But there's not much around. That's a real shame about your flat though, why is that? Things around here are moving quickly? Maybe ppl want to be in the countryside?

@Vil10 mate that movie is sick I haven't finished it yet but boy oh boy. I dunno if you or anyone knows about fanfiction but that's what it's like! I used to read and write sex fanfiction on different anime haha and I still read them to this day! It's literally a movie of a fanfiction writing. I can't believe it haha its weird to watch knowing I would have died for a movie like that as a teenager. My OH wouldn't watch it with me tho 🙄

@Minster2012 I think banks are being super cautious at the moment - nearly all of them have removed their 5/10% deposits (effectively cutting out first time buyers) and I've heard valuations are coming in low across the board. We clearly have a buyer willing to pay for asking price so seems a bit silly!

We can still after to buy the house even if we lower the selling price of our flat by 45k but that's quite the hit on our savings so not ideal. The house valuation is next week though so maybe if that comes in lower as well we can try and lower that too to limit the hit on our sell.

@Vil10 i watched it by myself when OH was at work but might get him to watch it with me later too😂 i may have ruined it tho as i did tell him the plot 🤣

Yep @Missgoldilocks same DPO (I think, haven't been tracking)! Not much to report except that I actually feel like I have AF cramps! 2DPO though so obviously not that.. Are you an early tester or wait until AF?

It should all be there as a benefit at this age I would probs be more likely to take a job based on maternity pay being better or quicker than the amount of AL i would be entitled too! It just sucks I feel like everyone should be entitled to the same and a decent amount! Il be on statutory now as just thoughts life's too short to wait!

My friend at work doesn't qualify for paid mat leave just statutory BUT a woman who started a 2 weeks after her will qualify purely because she reaches the been here 2 years as at 15th week of pregnancy. So literally if my friend started a week earlier she would have qualified for paid May leave it's stupid

@Skip86 It’s so so wrong. I work in HR and the stuff I see. And it comes from within my old team leader (Male and v old school traditional Greek even tho he was like 32) when one of the girls on my team asked about career development he was like aren’t you getting married next year? You’ll be having kids so you won’t have to worry about that...like WHAT?! I’ve just taken on a new job with a small payrise internally and hopefully I can soon tell them they will only have me til early next year 😂 hopefully gonna take a year off

@Skip86 totally with you on that... I discovered today I fall short of promotion criteria by 2 weeks. Now I'm thinking that 2 weeks may as well be 2 decades, as there's no way I'll get the same promotion after having a baby.
