1dpo... anybody fancy jumping on this rollercoaster with me?

Afternoon ladies! Here we are, once again, biting our nails down to the quick during the TWW! 😂

We’re TTC after losing our first baby at 24 weeks in January 💔 but trying to stay positive, even though we’re now on cycle 5. Lots of frustrations around this as everybody else appears to be popping them out easily!!

I am trying to distract myself through dieting and healthy eating, theory being that if I’m focused on not eating crap, and googling my next workout, I’m not wasting tests and symptom spotting... 😂

Really really hoping to have a successful month this month and test early on 21st, because how lovely would it be to tell my wonderful husband I’m pregnant on Father’s Day? Well aware AF isn’t due until 24th, but a girl can dream, right?

Anyway, feel free to share your crazy with me here, or give me hope with some success stories! Also, I am very much a fan of “line eyes” threads, so hit me up with your squinters!! 🧐

Happy waiting, girls! 🥰

Even when I get my BFP I don't think I could stay away from coffee honestly!
I'm 7dpo and I fell under the pressure to test. I know it's too early and I don't know if the test is faulty as I did another test with a different strip today and it's just a line or maybe it's time for me! I definitely cannot get too excited due to my history of early losses I'm just so scared! Check out the pic ladies. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞

Leobaby · 15/06/2020 19:07

@mansah2 I can definitely see the line! That looks like a BFP to me!😛

Leobaby · 15/06/2020 19:12

@emiliet123 so sorry about your loss, I hope you’re okay and staying positive. Hopefully this month you get your strong bfp.
I’m anxiously waiting to say I’m in the 2WW. I should be ovulating or maybe have ovulated I’m not sure. I’ve had EWCM for 3 days. DTD on Saturday.. haven’t been able to do it since, so I’m hoping I haven’t missed it and that saturdays swimmers are strong enough to hold until I’ve ovulated. Af due 1st July. Think I’m out this month. Good luck to you all! X

MyGossip · 15/06/2020 20:54

@emiliet123 thank you and you too ❤️ no this would be our first. Been trying since January but only been tracking actively since late March/April. What about you?

Oh really? That's good to hear. I'm really missing my coffees and green teas. Been drinking so much hot water and lemon lately to try and curb my cravings. Although in saying that, I don't have as many headaches and or feel as tired.

@mansah2 I definitely see a faint line! Keep testing to see if it gets darker, fingers crossed for you!!

@Leobaby Good luck! Are you testing with your OPKs?

mansah2 · 15/06/2020 21:06

I hope it sticks ! All I'm hoping and praying for 😫

Leobaby · 15/06/2020 21:14

@MyGossip thank you! I have used all my opks. For a few months I was at my peak on CD 15. I used my last one on Friday just gone which was CD 12 and had a flashing smiley. Dtd CD 13. Had ewcm for 3 days & I think I’m ovulating now as I’m on CD 15, have had mild cramps and slight back ache this evening so fingers crossed Saturdays swimmers have made it. 🤞🏼

Leobaby · 15/06/2020 21:15

@mansah2 keep testing to see if the line gets stronger too!

mansah2 · 15/06/2020 21:34

I will
Tomorrow morning and see how it
Goes ! Will keep y'all posted

Leobaby · 15/06/2020 21:56

Looking forward to it @mansah2. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 x

emiliet123 · 16/06/2020 08:16

Oh my gosh @mansah2 how exciting! Crazy that you got a result so early! Could be twins, eh? 😜 I am 7dpo today and you’ve made me wanna test 😂 I’m just kidding, I actually already did test even though I knew it’d be negative. Last time I was preggo I didn’t get a really clear result until I was about a week late for my period!

@Leobaby you’re not out until the fat lady sings! Or the red lady, in this case, whatever. Fingers crossed for you. I’ve decided that if AF arrives this month again, I’m going to have a month off (if I can!) because I’m too tired. It’s heartbreaking and at least if I know we haven’t DTD specifically on the right day etc then I’ll fully expect my period, rather than start grieving all over again.

@MyGossip you’re probably healthier for cutting out the caffeine! Haha. Since Jan - fingers crossed this is your month then, it feels so much harder the longer it goes on, doesn’t it?
It isn’t our first pregnancy, but would be our first child - I feel like all the joy and excitement has been sucked out of it now, so won’t be doing a baby shower/baby moon etc like we’d planned first time around. Just gonna keep my head from wobbling, grit my teeth and get through to full term. 😖

@emiliet123 lol I totally agree! It’s so much stress. The fact that it was a couple days before ov and now I gotta wait and see it’s just so long! But tbh I don’t think it’s going to happen this month for myself! But that’s okay. Not going to beat myself up over it! Fingers crossed you get your positive result this month. If not then taking a break isn’t a bad idea, you need to rest sometimes!

MyGossip · 16/06/2020 11:53

@emiliet123 healthier? Yes! Angrier? Definitely yes! 😂 tbh I am sleeping much better so there's a benefit in there. I already ask for weird coffee concoctions to adding decaf to it just sounds really w**ky 🙈🙈

Oh sorry to hear about your other pregnancy. Here's hoping this month is promising for you too. For us all in fact.

One thing I am curious about is my Flo app still states that AF is due on Sunday. Where is my premom has now changed to Friday!? I've added in the same CM symptoms to both and now this has changed. Talk about a total head f.....

@Leobaby Just keep testing! It is expensive but I found its useful last month. And I also found ovulated two days prior to my apps which I didn't expect. Plus I think EWCM is always a firm indicator. Good luck!! I'll let you know if I find any easy home OPKs as I really like them but like you say, struggling to get any.

emiliet123 · 17/06/2020 11:17

How are we all today girls? @Leobaby @MyGossip - @mansah2 I need to know how you're getting on? Did you test again?

@MyGossip - oh that's a nightmare haha I've used Clue and it's been fairly accurate (within a day or two) about my periods, but I know as soon as I have a full day crying jag that I'm going to be on in two days! My PMS is off the chart since we lost Maya.

And I agree, keep testing @LeoBaby - get some internet cheapies. It settles your mind I think, because what's more annoying than restricting yourself from doing what you want?

Speaking of restricting - I've lost almost 3lbs this week just from cutting out all the rubbish from my life and tracking my food on MyFitnessPal. Even managed to have a cheeky drink with a bbq last Sunday so it doesn't hugely feel like a proper diet!

@emiliet123 I keep thinking about having a month off ttc, but I'm 35 this year and feel like time is running away from us. I don't know how to switch that feeling off?!

emiliet123 · 17/06/2020 11:50

@curbsideprophet I can understand that! That clock ticks so much louder when you're focused on it :( And all everyone can keep saying is relax, focus on something else, it will happen... I call bullshit!

I guess you can't switch it off, only acknowledge it and kind of tell yourself that right now you're not letting it affect you? Sounds a little hippy dippy but meditation does sometimes help me calm down.

Do you have any kids so far? x

OP posts:
Leobaby · 17/06/2020 12:42

Heyyyy @emiliet123 well, the delivery times were awful for where I live so even when they did come my ovulation time would’ve past! But I can still get some anyway. So no I haven’t tested, I had a bad day yesterday mentally, was crying a lot gave myself a migraine and nearly threw up 🤦🏼‍♀️

@MyGossip I’ve had ewcm since Saturday. I think it stopped yesterday. So from CD13 - CD16 seems about right for me. I normally get my peak on CD15 But obviously couldn’t check this month but on CD12 I got my flashing smiley so I could’ve possibly ovulated CD15/16! So I’m gonna put myself as 1dpo today. I wonder if swimmers from CD13 made it, or am I wasting my time 🤔

CurbsideProphet · 17/06/2020 12:43

@emiliet123 bullshit indeed! My GP told me to relax and I didn't know what to say 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have a stressful job (albeit I work from home) listening to other people's problems, there's a worldwide pandemic, and I'm on cycle 8 / 9 of ttc our first baby. I'm trying to keep my stress under control, but other people telling me that I'll get pregnant as soon as I relax / don't try doesn't really help at all.

I do a lot of yoga and use the Headspace app, but when it comes down to it I can't switch off the worry that it's taking this long (or the worry about what will happen if I do get a bfp).

I would definitely relax if I could have 6 months paid off work, a daily massage, and a housekeeper to do all the cleaning / cooking / life admin!

mansah2 · 17/06/2020 14:31

Hahaha @Leobaby boy I'd be so excited. I'm still surprised as clear blue indicated I ovulated on Thursday meaning I got a result 4 days after. Makes me even more anxious. I don't know if it's possible you get a positive test after just 4days. But time will tell.
And hey keep your fingers crossed you never know!
@emiliet123 yes I did test. It's still faint. Will attach a pic right away. Keep calm. Everything will be fine girl!.

Btw I ovulated on cd19 how possible is that If you have a 29-31 day cycle? Does it mean we don't necessarily ovulate mid cycle? And AF could show up normally on cd 30?

emiliet123 · 17/06/2020 14:46

Awww @LeoBaby are you feeling a little better for it today? I struggle with migraines too so I understand how debilitating they can be. I hope you managed to get it all out and are feeling a little brighter! It's definitely not unheard of for swimmers to have made it though, so try not to get too down just yet.

@MyGossip and sometimes, it's even worse coming from people you KNOW have had difficultly, or took a long time TTC. They know the stress but still think "just relax" is a good piece of advice. I know, it's so difficult during the pandemic - but equally putting off trying or taking a break seems too scary, what if you miss the golden opportunity?! Hopefully things will settle in about nine months time just for us ;)

On another note, my friend who was due about 4 weeks after. was has just had her baby. It's beautiful and even though I'm so happy for her I couldn't help having a big ugly cry that my baby should have been here by now too! Urgh it's SO hard when life keeps throwing these bloody milestones at you!

OP posts:
emiliet123 · 17/06/2020 14:49

Ohhh @mansah2 I was writing out my message as you posted yours! It's going to be faint if it's so early - but how strange that you got a result within 4 days, I didn't think that was possible either? Maybe your hormones were just completely out of whack this month and your egg was primed for conception at that exact moment! (Blame the Strawberry moon LOL)

OP posts:
Leobaby · 17/06/2020 15:00

@mansah2 that’s crazy! You must’ve ovulated earlier surely? Have you tested again to see if your lines have gotten stronger? Because it did look like it could be a bfp.

@emiliet123 yes I’m feeling much better today. Yesterday was just awful. Yes I have read plenty of people conceived from dtd as far back as 5/6 days before ov?! If thats actually accurate tho and they just didn’t realise they ovulated earlier who knows. But they’ve had scans to confirm it so?! I’m just an unlucky person though so, but I’ll still wait it out and see what this TWW brings me lol! I’ve found some opks they’re coming tomorrow. Will keep my first wee in until I get them.. 😂 see what it says. Bought a thermometer too, try temping next month.
That’s horrible for you, I can imagine how you feel. My sisters first baby was a still birth at 7 months, little girl. But what’s crazy is she’s had 2 daughters since and they’re all born on the 6th of different months. Including the little one who was a still birth. All angel babies!😇So your little one shall be with you in your next pregnancy! Try to think positive and not let it get you down. Just hope you get your big strong bfp soon. Throwing my love and positivity your way. X

emiliet123 · 17/06/2020 15:34

Ohh thank you @LeoBaby that really did just make me smile :) Maya was stillborn on 25th Jan - my birthday is 25th Nov! So it does bring a little bit of comfort that we share the "date" - sort of! And that must be so lovely for your sister that all her babies share the date, though I am of course so sorry she had to go through the loss.

There's a reason they say that you're fertile for like 5 days before ovulation though, so it must be possible - if not common?

OP posts:
Leobaby · 17/06/2020 15:55

@emiliet123 aw see! That’s lovely, it’s also interesting to see someone else has experienced the same thing. And maya is a beautiful name. It does bring some comfort I’m sure, to feel like she is there. I hope it brings some comfort to you as well, and of course I am sorry for your loss, but I hope it means something, even if it’s small.

And yes that is true! As long as you have the fertile cm during those 5 days then the sperm should make it. Well we will see! Strangely having some strong cramps today. I wish I had my opk to see if my LH is high still. Really wish I knew when I ovulated! Would make things so much easier!🤦🏼‍♀️

MyGossip · 17/06/2020 20:54

@emiliet123 totally!! I've just had a chat with hubby just now and think I'll test come Saturday/Sunday. The way I see it is AF is due Friday-Sunday as my cycles are 27-31 days so if I test in the middle I'll certainly no either way and I can enjoy my weekend? He agrees with me so I think that's my plan.
Again sorry to hear about Maya, such a beautiful name and I'm sure she is 100% with you on this journey! And you've now got this knowledge where you can help and support people, friends and family should it ever happen to them. ❤️ praying for your BFP!
