Hey ladies :) AF arriving today, not quite here yet but had lots of brown cm and cramps so she's coming haha!

I hope I conceive this month as my due date will be the same as my first pregnancy 💗

@Lozzlepop did they say when you would get your results back?

@XjustagirlX I agree, temping is stressful so I stopped! Some people find it helps but I just get too stressed

@Bk23 good luck :) will.you track ovulation through ovulation tests?

Bk23 · 17/08/2020 13:13

Hey @Annny27 i think this first cycle we are just going with the flow to see what happens, then after a few months ill start start doing the ovulation tests. When the tine is right it will hopefully happen. Trying not to put pressure on it just yet x

Lozzlepop · 17/08/2020 15:56

Hi all,

Actually mad a mistake in my previous post, last months cycle was 30 days (usually more like 33days) and this month only 27? anyone had any experience with cycle length changing like this?

@XjustagirlX I personally have never temped- I dont think it would work for me as my cat wakes me up at all hours but deffo think it cant hurt to try a more relaxed approach!

@Annny27 AF here for me too, feeling rubbish! She never said, I know she was off last week and I'm not sure how long the results will take to come back but guessing maybe midweek?

Kiza · 17/08/2020 17:17

@Lozzlepop yeah mines changed and continues to do so. I used to always think I had a perfectly regular cycle and did at the start of TTC but then began to notice it varies from 27-33, my LP also varies which I know everyone says is impossible but it's confirmed by BBT and opks.

@Bk23 that's a good way to start, just to relax and enjoy it. It's not until you've been at it a while like some of us old threaders that we end up trying everything under the sun! 😆

@XjustagirlX I'm sorry you had such a crappy cycle, it was really bizarre and hard to accept when you don't know what actually happened.

@Annny27 that's great news that there's been no spotting. Sounds like you're on a mission next cycle!

CD10 for me, I think now I know IVF is not far off I fancy a month off 🤦🏼‍♀️ DP wants to continue though so we compromised to have a somewhat more laid back DTD this fertile window.

Annny27 · 17/08/2020 20:22

Feel really unwell today. I think its the drop in progesterone from stopping the medication. I think @orangeloo mentioned that she experienced similar?

@Lozzlepop my cycles average around 29-30 days but they have been as short as 22 and as long as 37! Crazy

@kiza I totally get you. A relaxed approach sounds good for this month knowing that ivf is in the near future!

@bk23 yes good plan to be relaxed for first month :D

Looking for some advice ladies. I had my implant removed a day or two before I was due on, but have yet to...how do I work out when I’m ovulating/ should be ovulating?

Lottiepink · 17/08/2020 22:33

Evening everyone,

Cd10 for me and in my usual mood 😂 don't know why I always am on or around this day, but just feel fed up 😂

@Lozzlepop pleased the bloods went well 😀 I've had a couple of strange ones, I put mine now to stress at the time, but who knows.. sorry not very helpful!

@Kiza that's amazing news for you, be here before you know it! ☺️

@Annny27 sorry you think af is on its way, and awful that you aren't feeling well, fingers crossed for this month for you 🙂

@Helenh19 welcome! I used an app that tracked my periods but I later realised that it just placed my fertile days bang on the middle of the cycle, I later started using ovulation tests and temping and inputting my data into an app, I use natural cycles. The temping might put a bit of pressure on for you to use at the start, so maybe experiment with the OPK's first and see how you get on?

bwfcchick88 · 17/08/2020 22:46

Hey everyone. First post in this part of MN. 32 and ttc my first. Having spent the past 6 years stressing out about fertility and battling with severe (and horrible) anxiety, I finally had CBT last year which gave me the confidence to quit the job that was killing me (in Feb this year) and we've been gearing up to start trying, though this was our first proper month ☺ lots of love and luck to you all. X

XjustagirlX · 18/08/2020 07:28

I had a call yesterday to rearrange my additional fertility nhs tests which were cancelled. I have a call on Friday to discuss with the gynaecologist.

I’m getting the impression that the nhs do simple tests first and then jump straight to ivf which seems very strange to me that there is no additional help to explore before going straight to ivf.

Could you let me know of any help or extra tests you have either heard of or experienced so I can mention it to the gynaecologist? I would like them to test more things before sending me for ivf. For example the progesterone tablets @Annny27 is taking (no one has ever suggested my progesterone could be low but I get lots of spotting), Clomid? Hormone injections? Etc.)

We have had a

  • blood test to confirm I was ovulating
  • Sperm analysis
  • Ultrasound to check I looked ok inside

It seems like no one has explored any other cause of not getting pregnant and I’m not sure ivf is the next logical step for us. It just seems far too soon without other simpler help being offered.

Annny27 · 18/08/2020 09:41

Morning :)

@XjustagirlX they sometimes prescribe progesterone for luteal phase spotting and repeat miscarriages.

Another thing to test for would be clotting disorders that may have caused the miscarriages.

IVF may be the best route though as they can make sure that the embryo is genetically sound so lesser chance if chromosonal based miscarriages.

@Lottiepink i thjnk its so funny that you are moody mid cycle haha! I am a bifch around 11-15dpo

@Helenh19 LH ovulation sticks are great for pinpointing when ovulating :D

@bwfcchick88 best of luck :D glad you are in a better place with your anxiety

Kiza · 18/08/2020 11:18

@XjustagirlX that's strange to hear as we had to have everything:
Day 3 bloods and day 21 bloods
Full blood count for everything (thyroid/TSH etc)
Tv scan
FSH test, as this was slightly elevated I then had AMH test
HSG to rule our blockages prior to IVF referral
Partner SA.

Ideally all the above should be tested before IVF is considered. I wasn't under Gyne I was under a fertility consultant so perhaps check you are under a fertility Consultant otherwise it could be this is why you're having basic checks and then the referral to the consultant will do the other tests?
I mentioned my spotting but they refused progesterone tablets for me. I also asked for Clomid but they said my test results show I ovulate therefore they wouldn't prescribe. However it's taken a good 8 months to complete all tests and some repeat.

@Lottiepink I wonder why you get this mood just before O? Perhaps estrogen affects you in some way?
@Annny27 unwell as in sick or more like lethargy?

Annny27 · 18/08/2020 11:31

Morning :)

@kiza I had a really bad headache all of yesterday and after googling a lot of people get the same after stopping progesterone!

I think unexplained infertility is the worst 😭 I would rather have an ovulation issue that could be fixed with clomid or somethinf similar

Afternoon all! 5DPO here...

@XjustagirlX Sorry, I don't have any experience or advice in that area but wishing you all the best!

@bwfcchick88 Welcome! Glad to hear CBT was helpful. I'm also first month TTC Smile

Lozzlepop · 18/08/2020 17:35

Well my blood tests came back in the normal range which officially concludes our recurrent miscarriage tests and I think also concludes our TTC journey 💔

Annny27 · 18/08/2020 17:41

@lozzlepop have you decided not to try anymore? :(

OP posts:
Lozzlepop · 18/08/2020 17:49

@Annny27 I think so.....without answers I dont think we can take any more disappointments 🙁

annahannah · 18/08/2020 17:53

@Lozzlepop I'm so sorry, sounds really tough :(

bwfcchick88 · 18/08/2020 18:18

Thank you all for the welcome and I'm so sorry to hear that, @lozzlepop

I'm really pissed off today because my period is being a PITA and won't start properly. Urgh x

Kiza · 18/08/2020 19:21

@Lozzlepop I'm so sorry to hear that. I can understand your reasons for it being too heartbreaking to continue. Would you consider private in the future for a more personalised approach?

Annny27 · 18/08/2020 19:37

So sorry that you have had to make this decision 💗💗 @Lozzlepop

As @kiza says if kids are a huge part of your plans then private might be the way forward and genetic screening of embryos before ivf may be an option.

But again children aren't the be all and end all and you will have a happy and fulfilled life whatever your plans 💗💗

@annahannah thank you ❤️

@Kiza I don't know, the consultant that we see works for Spire (previously Bupa) but I would have to pay a consultation fee to see him even though I am already under under his care......

@Annny27 my head is all over the place, I would feel more confident trying if I knew there was a certain thing that could be done to help 🤷🏽‍♀️

Kiza · 18/08/2020 20:52

@Lozzlepop randomly my sister in law was telling us tonight about blood groups and genotypes and the links to miscarriage and how it's worth he and I paying privately for genotype tests and also the rh +or - Additionally she found a study in the Guardian from Yale Univeristy that blood group O has lower chances of conceiving due to low and poor egg quality.

timswifey · 19/08/2020 16:32

Oh @Lozzlepop I'm so sorry how are you feeling?

It might be good for you to start a new chapter now 🥰 although it will be different from what you were expecting I'm sure.

Sorry I've been MIA - I needed to take a step back this month and have been feeling much more clear-headed. Check me out, 15dpo and AF isn't here yet. It's out first wedding anniversary on Wednesday so I'm secretly hoping I'm pregnant and can surprise him on the day!! So not told him when AF is due or where I am in my cycle or my suspicions or anything. It would be so perfect!

whatsthecraic91 · 19/08/2020 19:02

@Lozzlepop I'm so sorry to read this, it must be so frustrating when a reason can't be found. Take care and I wish you all the best ❤️x

@timswifey oh this would be an amazing anniversary present!! I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

I had my 20 week scan today and all is perfect! We found out we are having a boy 💙 completely over the moon. We haven't let on we found out so it will be DP and I's little secret until the birth! We decided at the last minute to find out as we weren't planning to 🙈 I can share a picture if anyone wants to see 😊

Hope everyone is keeping well x

Narwhal88 · 19/08/2020 21:56

Hi all, sorry been a bit MIA as just been plodding along until our appointment yesterday.

@Lozzlepop that's really shit. I know you have exhausted NHS tests but I think there are a lot of other things that could be looked into privately. Are you on Instagram? I have a TTC account on there and there are lots of other women with RM who may be able to offer advice. Maybe good to have the break until the wedding and then pick things up if you feel you are able to.

@timswifey that would be an amazing anniversary present! It's my birthday Monday and AF is due Tuesday - would love a BFP present but it's not gonna happen! Lol!

@whatsthecraic91 awww a lovely little boy, bet you are feeling on top of the world 💙

So had our appointment yesterday. My husbands SA results show the count has doubled and progressive motility went from 12% to 45% (!) which means motility is now normal. However morphology dropped from 2% to 1% strangely! My TV scan was clear, no indication of PCOS or anything else. Still can't get my HSG done. Next steps are hormone tests and DNA karyotyping for my husband to check if there is i genetic issue. She said at our next appointment in November she will then refer for IVF once genetic issues are looked at (we have to have counselling if there are any).
There is no IVF wait so hopefully we will be looking at IVF around Christmas/ New year!
Feels much better to have a timeframe, even if I would much rather we didn't need IVF.

How is everyone else getting on??

How is everyone else?
