@Narwhal88 just done some reading up again 🙈 I was getting mixed up and thinking it was the IUI they were meaning! Ours just said IVF but I think with DH sperm it would be ICSI for us also!

Croselle · 02/07/2020 08:56

@Lottiepink I know! I was surprised they said 7 days! I think he is so concerned with not wanting to mess it up bless him so he is following the 'rules'! But yeh so glad it's moving forward again.

Narwhal88 · 02/07/2020 12:33

@kiza really hope that they fund your cycle, my gut feeling is that they will, it would be so so unfair not to! Glad things are moving forward for you! I'm hoping my tests can be done before 18th August as that's our next appointment date.

@XjustagirlX congratulations! Really hope this is it for you!

@Croselle great that you have some appointments booked in. I've no idea how long I'll have to wait for my HyCoSy but she said I must call on CD1 or they won't do it, I think they have to be sure you aren't pregnant to do it. On my DHs SA forms it says to abstain for 2-4 days and no longer than 7 days. Last time he did 4 days and this time will be 3 days. The older the sperm the more likely it is for sperm to die. Too fresh and there is no time to make new sperm. Needs to be Goldilocks sperm lol.

@Lottiepink yeah ICSI is just a form of IVF. Normally used when there is male factor infertility as they just put a sperm right into the egg!

Kiza · 02/07/2020 16:36

@Narwhal88 thanks, the clinic manager said the same thing so 🤞🏼Goldilocks sperm 😂😂
I wonder if we will be offered ICSI due to DP abnormal sperm rates? Suppose we will find out.

@Lottiepink my opks are pretty much zero now but temp still hasn't risen since the chart I posted, so weird. I wonder if I just didn't ovulate this cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️I know what you mean about wanting to keep checking until you have it confirmed!

@Croselle that's good news that you've got some appointments being booked, makes you feel like you're getting a step closer each time. I honestly can't recall how many days DP had to abstain for his SA... seems like ages ago. But I think it was only a handful of days???

Lozzlepop · 02/07/2020 18:59

Hi all,

@orangeloo haha I know - typical!! I will do, I have managed to get my smear booked in too as things are starting to reopen up here! How are you?

@XjustagirlX congratulations, sometimes it can be due to the levels of dye in the tests, I hope all goes well when you get your scan, I know how scary a time it is ❤️

@Kiza thank you- I will keep you guys upto date with how next week goes! Have you heard anything from the IVF clinic?

@Lottiepink Thank you, fingers crossed! The countdown is on, 303 days to go 😂I hope you managed to DTD over the past few days!

@Annny27 thank you ❤️I am deffo keen to try again but I can see why DF is apprehensive and even more so for trying before the wedding so we will see what answers we can get (if any) and take it from there!

Hope everyone is well! I am seeing my parents this weekend for the first time in 4 months, has anyone got anything nice planned?

XjustagirlX · 02/07/2020 19:56

Thank you for all the congratulations.

I’m worried as I don’t feel pregnant at all now. My symptoms have disappeared except my boobs are still a bit sore. I’ve stopped feeling exhausted and nauseous. I don’t know how I’m going to make it till next Thursday when I have the scan.

I also stupidly did some vigorous movements playing with my niece and now I’m worried I’ve caused a miscarriage or something as my symptoms have gone.

I’m going to do another frer tomorrow morning and hopefully it’s darker than the last one.

Lozzlepop · 02/07/2020 20:00

@XjustagirlX I know its hard but try not to worry, it is so early that nothing you can do at this stage will effect your little bean, and symptoms do come and go ❤️

Croselle · 02/07/2020 20:52

@Narwhal88 @Kiza goldilocks sperm that's so funny! Hmm I wonder why it says 7 days.. I thought it was only a few tbh perhaps we can squeeze one in! Haha!

Annny27 · 02/07/2020 21:46

Evening everyone! Have been a bit absent from the chat recently sorry. Cd16, lots of ewcm and had my peak opk reading this afternoon so will ovulate either today or tomorrow

@XjustagirlX symptoms come and go and its totally normal. I had all the symptoms for 12 weeks and my baby had died 3 weeks before so it doesn't mean anything either way!

@Lozzlepop seeing your parents will be lovely :D we don't have any plans- maybe do some gardening or something!

@Lottiepink fingers crossed you have ovulated now!

@kiza does your area only offer 1 round? I had a look at ours and it only offers 1 round which is upsetting:( we could afford private but that's not the point, why do some areas get 3 rounds, not fair!

I was just thinking that how did I not notice ewcm from the ages of 15-27?? Now I am 28 and ttc I feel like ewcm is very noticeable and I would have noticed it before but I didn't haha!

OP posts:
Kiza · 03/07/2020 07:27

@Annny27 yes our area is quite strict, only 1 round before 40 and only 1 embryo. I'm on an IVF thread and some of their areas offer 2 embryos when you're this age to double your chances.
Think I noticed ewcm for most of my adult life but that's cow when I came off the pill mid 20's and became a hippy I started to be fascinated by my body 😆

@XjustagirlX try not to worry (I know easier said than done) but symptoms honestly do come and go. In all my 3 pregnancies symptoms were so different each time.

Lotusflower11 · 03/07/2020 07:45

Morning Ladies! I hope you don’t mind me joining! I don’t know anyone in my real life who’s gone through real difficulties getting pregnant so this chat was like a breath of fresh air! This is such a lonely journey sometimes! In short, I’m almost 31 and this is my cycle 22, but we were preparing for this for a year before that, so really feels like 3years in waiting already! We have been labelled “unexplained“ by Nhs, so went private for more tests, so far they think I have low progesterone and thyroid issues..so this is first month actually doing something, it’s called monitored cycle, so I’m taking Letrozole pills, trigger shot for ovulation and then progesterone. I’m petrified this won’t work as the next step is IVF..
Just wanted to give a quick tip for anyone desperate to pin point ovulation, I have done temping, Opks, apps, it’s all so vague, so upgraded to online blood tests! Have to say this gave us loads of answers, I didn’t know that your LH could spike but no ovulation actually happened..the only real proof is Progesterone test on day 21 (must be over 30). It’s a home finger prick test and you post it out, very easy:) if anyone interested do let me know:)
Lastly @orangeloo you mentioned you getting tubes tested, it is Hycosy next month? If so, they would make you obstain from sex that month, so every cloud with your partner being away! It was super frustrating for us, as they said I ovulated that month and progesterone was normal, so for once we would have had a chance, but weren’t allowed to!!

orangeloo · 03/07/2020 08:06

Hi @Lotusflower11 welcome to the thread.
That is true but my clinic don't make you abstain they will only do they test cd 6-10 so there's no chance of you being pregnant. I'm okay about missing this month though. I feel my cycle needs to get back to normal after two months on progesterone. (I know it's supposed to help)but for the first month my OPK's did not detect Ov but I'm sure I did as got a temp rise. A month off may do me good mentally and at least I'm checking one box off with the tube test.

Still waiting for AF not pregnant though sadly as I have tested every day haha. Not in a hurry for AF though it doesn't matter this month.

Good luck this month on the letrozole and monitoring. How many months are you trying this? Is it private? I would be quite keen to try meds but also worried as when u ovulate anyway it increases chance of multiples. However the longer I'm ttc I think I wouldn't mind twins haha.

@Kiza @Anny27 you may only get one round but hopefully you'll have embryos left over then u would only have to pay for transfer storage and FET rather than a whole IVF round again. I know it's still a lot of money and hopefully it works first time anyway.

@Lozzlepop enjoy seeing your parents.

XjustagirlX · 03/07/2020 09:19

Did another test this morning. This mornings test is the one at the bottom. It doesn’t look like it has got darker.

TTC first baby thread 25
orangeloo · 03/07/2020 10:38

@XjustagirlX Don't panic on that alone. I saw someone pregnant (and still is) and all her frers were light. She keep doing them for reassurance expecting a dark line dye stealer and it never happened. She stopped because it was scaring her. This was a few weeks ago she's still pregnant and had an early scan baby is fine. X

Lotusflower11 · 03/07/2020 11:17

@orangeloo we have been told to try for 3month and re-asses.Sadly it’s private, Nhs did two rounds of tests first was bad, so they considered referring us to ivf, then second annoyingly came back “in range”, so complete 180 and they don’t want to speak to us until we try for 3 years. Same tests privately were worse again.. I am a bit shocked nhs didn’t even consider offering medication first..
At this point twins would be amazing, I don’t think I could go through this again🙈

Lozzlepop · 03/07/2020 11:35

Happy Friday!

@Annny27- I know, its been such a long time!!

@orangeloo thanks, desperately hoping the weather clears up!

@Lotusflower11 Welcome to the thread! I'm so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the NHS- 3 years is a long time and a big ask! I hope the monitored cycle works for you guys!

@XjustagirlX I would say that line looks nice and strong to me

orangeloo · 03/07/2020 12:17

@Lotusflower11 oh that's awful. I was originally told three years then luckily that hospital stopped fertility and the other one I'd come under is two years. Hopefully your meds will work. I know what u mean this journey has completely changed my mindset of twins haha.

Kiza · 04/07/2020 13:03

@Lotusflower11 welcome to the group, you and have been trying a similar time and it's hard isn't it after all this time.

@orangeloo we are definitely praying we are one of those lucky couples who have extra embryos to freeze. It's not as expensive to freeze on the NHS either and future FET is so much cheaper and less invasive than a fresh round of IVF again. When's AF due?

@XjustagirlX they still look like strong positives to me. Can't remember if you've mentioned but could you ask for a blood test with your local hospital or GP just to reassure you before your scan?

So on top of all my other pills I'm now going to try QH Ubiquinol 200mg a day with my CoQ10 200mg. Also PQQ, all to aid egg quality and metachrondia to prep for IVF due to low AMH levels. It'd be a bonus if it helps naturally before our IVF appointment 🤞🏼🤞🏼
I've ordered myself a pill box as I have so many now 😆 also just discovered Ubiquinol can cause insomnia so need to remember to take pills in the morning

Annny27 · 06/07/2020 09:24

Morning everyone:) I am 3dpo now! Managed to dtd 4 days in a row from 2 days before ovulation- 1dpo. So honestly couldn't have given it more of a try haha 🤣

@orangeloo thats cool, I didn't know that the NHS could freeze your other embryos and that you could pay just for the transfer stuff. That makes me less financially worried if it ever came to ivf for us! Has AF arrived yet?

@XjustagirlX they are dark so I wouldn't worry:) when is your scan? Are you starting to feel excited now 🤩

@kiza thats a lot of supplements so hopefully they do the trick :D haha the pill box in preparation for being 80 🤣

@Lotusflower11 welcome to the thread:D

@Lozzlepop are things easing up in Scotland with lockdown now?

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 06/07/2020 10:18

@Annny27 my scan is on Thursday morning. I’m excited but nervous. I’ve decoded to stop testing now and just wait for the scan. My bbt dropped this morning, still above the cover line. Maybe I should stop recording my bbt as well.

orangeloo · 06/07/2020 10:22

@Kiza @Annny27 yes Af arrived and has been probably the lightest but quite painful period I've ever had!? Weird Makes me concerned I didnt ovulate or something.

That's some dtd going @Annny27 well done to u both haha bases well and truly covered this month then.

I read that article you posted @Kiza interesting and good for me because I would say if anything we fall short after peak OPK Ov day but sounds like they are the least chance days anyway.

Glad I put your mind at rest a bit financially re ivf. I'm not 100% certain but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes from what I've heard from a few couples. That would be so harsh of nhs 'sorry we have x amount of embryos but we binning them as u only get one try' imagine. It makes sense too as in my area I think it's 1.5 goes being 1 collection and transfer and if that doesn't work and u have another embryo you get a FET and that's it.

Narwhal88 · 06/07/2020 13:19

Welcome @Lotusflower11 that is crazy that they won't retest and told you it's 3 years!! I would love twins by this point too haha.

@Anny27 well done on your marathon 🤣 we used to do 4 days in a row and it's hard work! We only do every other day now as apparently better if you have low sperm count but who knows!

@XjustagirlX good luck with your scan and try not to worry too much! Easier said than done though!

@orangeloo that's good that they cover FET as I didn't know you could do that and makes it a bit cheaper at least!

@kiza me and DH both have pill boxes now 😂 we feel ancient!

So I emailed the consultant secretary today and she said the dr said she wanted to see me again in 3 months. 3 months! My husband hasn't had his results from his 2nd SA yet and my tests should only take a month max to get sorted hopefully. Seems pointless waiting another 3 months. This is why everything takes soooo long. So she agreed to keep my husbands appointment for 18th August and add me onto it instead. Otherwise we would be looking at end of September/ October to go to the next step. Just shows you have to advocate for yourself if you want anything done in a timely way. I feel like we are just going through the motions ticking boxes to get referred for IVF now.
My cousin had a baby on Saturday so there has been lots of family baby spam ☹️

Lotusflower11 · 06/07/2020 22:31

@Narwhal88 sorry about the baby spam, it’s amazing how being happy for someone can make you so sad for yourself at the same time..but your day will come too soon😊 well done for advocating for yourself, amazing result! I now constantly ask my GP for repeat blood tests for my thyroid, as it’s important TSH is lower than 2.5 for conception, they not offering themselves otherwise..so worth asking if you feel like something isn’t right:)
@Kiza pill box is a great idea, I’m getting there too🙈😂 My insults take is obsessed with CoQ10, in on 600,which I think is max you can take! Hopefully my eggs will be super strong this month💪🏻
@XjustagirlX good luck with a scan! Keeping everything crossed for you!
@orangeloo these periods are just a mind game, constantly throwing curveballs!!
@Annny27 TWW now, yeek! At least you have it a good shot😁
So far I had little side effects in Letrozole, other than spotting, I can deal with that, I was worried I ll go mental🙈 now scan on Thu to check if any follicles are ready for trigger shot🤞🏻

Kiza · 07/07/2020 07:03

@Annny27 4 days in a row?!?! Wow that's some going! 💪🏼

@orangeloo yeah it was quite an interesting read as you know some women still get BFP even with their usual spotting. A friend at work is going through IVF and she told me about the freezing too, it's around £250/ year and then it's around £1500 for a FET. Or you can pay to transfer a frozen embryo to a private clinic or store them at a private clinic- obviously much more expensive but good to know there are options.

@Narwhal88 so frustrating that we have to be so pushy but good on you for standing your ground and getting in on that appointment.

@Lotusflower11 yeah that's a good amount got coq10, I'm currently on 400 but am waiting for ubiquinol and pqq and taking a lower dose of those to aid the coq10. Mainly in preparation for IVF as my Accupuncturist told me to get in the best shape 2-3 months prior to IVF so I have the best follicles, lining and eggs being released.

XjustagirlX · 07/07/2020 10:08

I’ve had some bleeding this morning (brown but a lot more than spotting). I had terrible cramps yesterday morning and evening. I’m waiting for a call back from the hospital to discuss. I’m really worried something is going wrong.
