Hi @Chlo2701 - I'm CD18 today.

I've not been tracking ovulation as I'm fresh off pill and wanted to have at least one natural cycle/AF first. Though I definitely had what felt very much like ovulation pain on CD8, early I know but I wonder if after 20 years on the pill, I expect my cycle is out of sorts and released an egg earlier as hormones left my body...had some EWCM around then too...Who knows...

I'm probably not going to test for 21 days if I can manage, that would take me to cycle day 40 if I make it so if no AF then, worth a test... :) See if either my patience, or AF can hold out!

selina37 · 13/06/2020 09:06

Ah girls...

I'm on a real Debbie downer today 😔

Sex last night led to me bleeding, quite badly. Ended up crying my eyes out.

I've been told (and mentioned before in this thread, so apologies) I have cervical erosion/ectropian/ectopy (whatever it's bloody called - pardon the pun).

Bleeding stops when the sex stops. Starts again in the morning after a bowel movement (sorry - defo TMI).

When when I imagine my cervix I think it must be red raw!

I don't know whether to get treatment for this.

I've read it can 'narrow' the passageway through the cervix for sperm. Also I've read it's no sex for four weeks to allow healing.

I'm 39. Time is running out. What is the ectropian worsens if I do get pregnant?

This only happens in my luteal phase. I think it's because that's when the cells grow more on the cervix (as they go in the uterus).

Just feel I need some reassurance. Doctors dismiss this 'spotting' and I've had nearly all tests needed for fertility, waiting on FSH test/(another) scan and tube dye test.

Anyone else suffer this? 😩

kwastell · 13/06/2020 09:22

@selina37 I'm sorry that doesn't sound nice for you.

Both times I had a miscarriage the nurse has said I have quite bad cervical ectropion. But they've made out there's no link between that and the miscarriages.

I don't get bleeding from sex but it is painful sometimes.

I have a 4 year old son and got pregnant quickly with no problems. But since then have had problems. I wonder if the cervical ectropion developed after that and that's what's causing the problems.

I don't know if that helps you at all, but I got a positive this month, just hoping it sticks. From what I've read it is possible.

selina37 · 13/06/2020 09:31

@kwastell thank you so much, and big congratulations on your positive! 😊💓

I feel a bit better putting it into words.

I was on the pill for years, so I think that 'controlled' it, or could have caused it over time.

Just seems impossible to keep hope every month when I 'spot' so much!

claireb707 · 13/06/2020 09:34

I have an ectropian too, not had bleeding after sex so can't help on that side of things but I was told being on the pill for so long likely caused it and if it does bleed they can do something to remove it to reduce rhe bleeding (though no guarantees it won't come back later)
I would see a different doctor about it, don't let them dismiss you

FridaKFangirl · 13/06/2020 09:42

This sounds really tough @selina37. You may have already done this but have you tried keeping a ‘journal‘ of the bleeding? Regularity, How heavy, the morning after bowel movement detail, pain, emotional distress that kind of thing.

You could then use that to try and get your doctor to look at it more closely? Or to get a second opinion or referral?

I’m no expert but it does seem that loads of issues with discomfort for women and sex get minimised by many doctors, it’s a case of pushing them. Not that you should have to!!

For now, sending Flowers x

Loladoodle · 13/06/2020 11:17

@selina37 sorry you are struggling with this. I have a friend who is exactly the same, she conceived really quickly and at the age of 37 so hopefully it is unrelated to ttc- certainly was for her. Be kind to yourself today.

@matilda great distractions! Perfect to not obsess with Ttc. I am always ok until sending part of 2ww then I go 🥜 I think the not knowing (being out of control) really affects me.

Lynnysong · 13/06/2020 12:15

I've ordered the seven seas trying for a baby vitamins and the ubiquinol (it's an advanced delivery system that's supposed to be really good, so even though it's 100mg it absorbs about 3-6 times as the other types - VESIsorb)

I'm 10dpo and my rhr went up slightly today 67 and temp is 36.67, I did take a little more prog cream yesterday as I was a bit paranoid. If there is a bean in there I want to give it every chance. Still feel bloated and crampy, I really hate this bit of waiting, between 10-14dpo.

I was feeling fed up again. Am I mad to be doing this? People do get pregnant at my age and a younger guy does help but I feel I have no hope and I'm upset about being left rotting on the antidepressant for so long when I could have had a family. It's so not fair. :(

Sorry I needed to vent a bit. Hope you guys are ok x

Lynnysong · 13/06/2020 12:19

@selina37 aw sweetheart, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time, I hope it doesn't affect fertility. Please feel free to talk your feelings out here. I hope you get your bfp soon x

Loladoodle · 13/06/2020 12:53

@lynnysong antidepressants are so widely used instead of talking therapies. It’s so detrimental in so many ways. Glad you got off it though and hopefully you get your bfp soon

@Loladoodle thank you, I've been doing more reading lol. I'm going to move the soy to later in my cycle so that I don't ovulate too early. I'll take 120mg on days 4-8 and I'm going to change how I use the progesterone cream.

Progesterone increases after ovulation, and peaks days 6-8 and thus signals the uterus to be receptive to a bean. So I'm going to mimic that:
After temps have confirmed ovulation I'll do this pattern:
Small amount on days 3-5
Medium amount day 6
Large amount on day 7
Medium amount day 8
Small amount days 9-14
Then test for a sticky bean. :)

I used a larger amount on day 9 which is a bit late this time, I had higher temps on days 6 and 8 which sort of confirms there's a surge around there. Every month there's a bunch of this stuff to learn lol. :)

M4v3r1ck · 13/06/2020 13:56

@Lynnysong @selina37 I'm so sorry you ladies are having a tough time! Sending lots of love! 😘😘😘 Although I would definitely log your symptoms etc @selina37 and look to getting more medical opinions on this! @Lynnysong you're doing amazing and everything right! This will happen! 😘😘😘

@FridaKfangirl @Chlo2701 yes, I'm going to wait until a week on Mon, then if no AF then I'll order tests, so that'll be another few days for them to arrive!!! Thanks re: DH birthday wishes! 😍 He's asked if this is his last year as my toyboy before I have to trade him in for a younger model, to keep up my puma status!!! 😜😜😜😹😹😹

Did someone say puppy?!?!?! Details please!!! 😍😍😍

Posy1 · 13/06/2020 14:45

@selina37 oh you poor thing, the bleeding sounds so upsetting for you. I can see why you are wary of treatment if there is a chance it could cause narrowing. I would def talk to a specialist who does the treatment. Maybe they could just do a mild treatment which would reduce the bleeding with less risk of narrowing? And then you could have proper treatment after you have a baby?

@Lynnysong I'm sorry you are feeling down too. Hindsight and regret affect us all I think. I know I would do alot of things from my past differently too and I can't help dwell on them sometimes. I think you are doing amazing though and doing everything you can now to get your baby. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Lynnysong · 13/06/2020 15:25

@Posy1 @M4v3r1ck thank you for your support. I really needed a boost :)

I sometimes read the other posts of woman my age getting pregnant, it cheers me up. fx x

Sunbird24 · 13/06/2020 15:30

@Lynnysong I’ve had so many of the same thoughts, but the life experiences we’ve had that have meant we’re doing this now are all things that can help us to be good mothers, if we can just catch a little luck amongst the science.
I’ve got a book called ‘Choosing Single Motherhood: The Thinking Woman’s Guide’ by Mikki Morrissette, which covers a lot of the common questions and concerns right through from deciding to do this and how, to raising your child alone and how to answer the ‘daddy’ question.

Matilda19 · 13/06/2020 16:25

@Sunbird24 thank you, I so need a bit of luck, I'm trying really hard with the science :)

Lynnysong · 13/06/2020 16:38

@Matilda19 I feel that way about this group too xx

Such a cute puppy :)

Loladoodle · 13/06/2020 16:51

@Matilda19 omg was just going to say If this doesn’t work out for us we have decided on a new house and 2 frenchies! We felt having another little back up plan would aid the stress involved in this process!!! I LOVE frenchies (ps we are getting them anyway regardless at some stage) so cute!
