Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Please join on this journey with me, so we can cheer each other up, share advice and information etc..

Good luck to all. FlowersSmile

@PinkTulipz they're the cheap ones from amazon (one step) - but they're supposed to be sensitive to 10mIU, so should be able to test quite early and get an accurate reading, so who knows! I might get a first response today just to be sure though...

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 09:20

@Semele5069 welcome and sorry for your mc x2, such a difficult experience. Re the alcohol I’m just carrying on as usual with the what will be will be attitude. If it doesn’t happen by new year we will stop ttc and be happy with what we have. I just feel that having taken 3 years to conceive previously I very much put life on hold and was very obsessive about the whole thing to the point it almost destroyed me at times. I don’t want to do that so I will live life, enjoy my food and drinks that compliment those but will try and eat healthy, take vits and do some exercise too- all about balance. I’ve never touched a drop during pregnancy and would never but I do feel when ttc there’s no certainty there either way, and life should not be put on hold. Just my view for myself on it but completely respect what is comfortable for others too.

Bellabubble · 28/05/2020 09:26

@PinkTulipz I have used clear and simple and easy@home opks - I have found them useful for detecting my peak! I’m fairly standard cycle wise (about 27-29days) so start testing them from cd10 onwards, once it starts to rise I do 2 a day to make sure I catch my peak!! I like them - but when I fell pregnant at the beginning of this year we didn’t use any tracking stuff except my natural cycles app, and we fell pregnant first time! Sadly Injad a mmc though, and since end if feb we haven’t had our bfp yet (I think being a bit older my body is taking longer to get back into the swing of it all

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 09:36

@MrsTtobe hard to know without tracking but ewcm is a good fertile sign to get cracking! Did you manage to dtd?

MrsTtobe · 28/05/2020 09:48

@Loladoodle yes of course we dtd! I had to say sorry for being a moody cow first though. 😬😂🙏

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 09:50

@mrsttobe 👍😂 good work!! 👏

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 09:52

I’m still a cranky bitch honestly I cannot shake this!!! 🤪 try so hard but it’s like an inner furnace raging over absolutely nothing! 😡 pms is horrid 😢

M4v3r1ck · 28/05/2020 11:06

@Semele5069 welcome and sorry to hear about your losses! 😘

I'm not a big alcohol drinker as it is, so I'll continue as normal as is for now (same with food etc) - hoping that relaxing and enjoying myself will help me get pregnant! 🤞🏻 I'm still being bad re: caffeine though! 🙈

Spottybluepyjamas · 28/05/2020 11:13

Just done a FRER - definitely negative :( Can't understand it!

Lynnysong · 28/05/2020 11:34

@Spottybluepyjamas That sucks :( Can you test again tomorrow? I hate testing now but was so eager to begin with.

Just catching up with everyone's posts, I've always dated younger men. Although the last one put me off lol.

I've been taking soy isoflavones, not a huge dose, 100mg for cycle days 3-7. One more dose tomorrow.

So I got fertile ewcm yesterday?? Apparently the soy causes it and other fertile signs when you take it. If you take 80-100mg it shouldn't mess up when you ovulate. But it can bring forward ovulation in higher doses. And cause ovulation if you are having anovulatory cycles (which I might be).

So I'm really surprised it has this strong effect. I wasn't expecting it to be so strong. Same with the progesterone cream. It's so odd but good that we have access to these supplements that can (hopefully) make a difference.

I found out recently that my great aunt had a baby at 40 so I hope that runs in the family. Plus I didn't start my periods until I was 13 so that should help. I'm rambling lol. Here's to some bfps soon fx fx

Szalinski · 28/05/2020 11:37

@spotty - is it possible that you ovulated much later than you thought? If so, the levels of hcg might be too low to detect even though your period is now late?

Szalinski · 28/05/2020 11:45

I also read a rather alarming thing, that if you're pregnant with twins or triplets this can result in abnormally high levels of hcg (called the hook effect) which renders the test negative!

SSMKKM · 28/05/2020 11:46

Good morning all, I'm 35 and TTC. I came off the deppo a year ago after getting married. I'd previously been on the injection for 2.5 years and still havent seen my period. I have 2 children 17 and 12 and desperately trying for my 3rd child. Just feel so lost with my cycle atm. I was given medroxyprogesterone from the doctor to regulate my period and that never worked. I am now trying to take pre pregnancy supplements to see if this will help. Has anyone else been in a similar situation after coming off the injection?

Lynnysong · 28/05/2020 13:05

@szalinski yeah I heard that too, this stuff is really complicated

@SSMKKM I've never had the injection but hormonal birth control seems to take a while to get back to normal after coming off. how long has it been since you stopped it?

AF is a right nuisance there when you don't want her and not when you do

Spottybluepyjamas · 28/05/2020 13:08

@Szalinski Yes I think I ovulated a bit later than usual, but the last time we had sex was 11 days ago - so should still be registering on a test at this point I think even if I ovulated at the latest point possible around then. Yes I read about the hook effect - can you imagine!! I think it's super rare though, so unfortunately unlikely for me!

SSMKKM · 28/05/2020 13:18

@Lynnysong I've been a year since the last time I took it but they said I should give it untill August

Happyhappy37 · 28/05/2020 14:06

Good morning all, welcome to all the new ladies 😊 sending you all positive energy and lots of baby dust.
Sorry to hear about all BFN 🤞🏾 for next time.

I've had a busy morning at work, back home now trying to change the bedsheets and Malachi is driving me up the wall.
Still here at 13dpo

@SSMKKM that's quite a while away, hope it sorts out before then :( What supplements are you taking?

@Happyhappy37 thank you for the positive wishes and the quote :)

Still waiting to arrange a meeting with the donor, might be tonight or tomorrow fx

Semele5069 · 28/05/2020 15:16

@PinkTulipz since my MC in January I've been using the Clearblue fertility monitor. It's pricey but I love that it does the hard work for me, so no trying to interpret ovulation sticks!!

I was using apps before but I they would give me different peak day predictions and I could never trust them as a result. I still have the apps out of interest but they never line up with when the monitor tells me I'm ovulating so I don't know how useful they are. I have a normal 28 day cycle as well.

musiceverywhere · 28/05/2020 17:20

Hi all ☀️☀️ Currently at work - about 5DPO and felt 🤢 this morning, but suspect that's more likely due to my progesterone production ramping back up after the IUD removal. Still will think about testing after weekend. Tests (CB and FRER) arriving from amazon today hopefully.

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 17:35

I was in the chemist today and stopped myself from purchasing a first response test 👏 go me!!!!! Who am I? 😂 trying to avoid my usual impulsive behaviour with poas! 9dpo.... 😴

Loladoodle · 28/05/2020 17:46

@Lynnysong exciting re meeting the donor! Keep us posted.. good luck!

@Happyhappy37 how are you feeling? Loving your zen attitude ... trying to get it to rub off on me... I even did some meditation... but I’m still 🥜

Happyhappy37 · 28/05/2020 17:50

Lol @Loladoodle and @musiceverywhere we are going to have to organise a intervention.😂
