Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Please join on this journey with me, so we can cheer each other up, share advice and information etc..

Good luck to all. FlowersSmile

Thank you so much for being so nice. I just went to the toilet and had very faint pink on the tissue. Shit 😢

I'm on CD25 of 28 and I promised myself I wouldn't test early as I fell into that trap last month. I'm glad I didn't as AF is clearly on her gruesome way.

I'm rooting for all of you though, fingers crossed for lots of BFPs x

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 11:10

@Szalinski ah I’m sorry to hear that! Be kind to yourself it’s a horrible feeling I know. Take care.

@Lynnysong exciting times. Does this potential want to co parent? Sounds promising that he’s done this before and quite often. Wishing you the best of luck!

musiceverywhere · 25/05/2020 12:00

Morning ladies! Hope everyone can enjoy some bank holiday sunshine? ☀️
@M4v3r1ck thanks for the 'hats off' ☺️ We're feeling better now yes.
@Lynnysong keep us posted on your meeting 🤞🏻
Hi to anyone new- it's so nice to have this space to share when I think the majority of us seem to be keeping our plans quiet irl.
Eventually DTD last night which from my clear blue OPK was my 2nd 'peak' day. Trying to get my head around the biology but I think that means ovulation (hopefully) happened late yesterday or will today? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Anyway am now putting myself in the TWW category 😬 and will estimate as 1DPO tomorrow.
(sorry- if anyone doesn't know the abbreviations please shout and I'm happy to clarify ☺️)

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 12:22

@musiceverywhere welcome to the dreaded 2ww! 🤪

musiceverywhere · 25/05/2020 12:32

Is anyone else at the 'waiting to test' stage? I'm hoping to hold out until June 7th (AF possibly due but not definite) as will be about 14 DPO, but last time (years ago!) I caved and tested at 10 DPO after I had some implantation spotting. The odds are much less in our favour these days though so trying to keep some perspective and not get hopes up too much.

Matilda19 · 25/05/2020 12:34

Gutted... No sign so tested with b and m cheapy and bfn
Im wondering if im just hopeful to early. Had implant removed april 22nd one period 26th april and then dtd lots to hope to catch a bfp..
Has my body just not returned to normal yet? Only used app to predict ovulation
Wonder if just havent given my body time to recover from implant... I was hopeful when got period so quick as others had said took few months.. X

musiceverywhere · 25/05/2020 12:40

@Matilda19 sorry to hear you're upset. Can I ask what your app used to predict ovulation if you'd only had one period? I don't know how implant works, does it stop your periods altogether or did you still know what your cycle length etc was? I had no idea after having IUD removed which is why I used digital OPK.

Only thinking if your app wasn't accurate you won't know how many DPO you actually are and if you should expect to see a definite result yet? 🤞🏻 Hugs. xx

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 12:44

@music my af is due around 4th June. Have ordered cheapy amazon tests and have 2 cb digital that will only be cracked open if cheap test ever gives a positive result. I struggle at end of 2ww and have been a poas addict in the past so I’m just being realistic covering all bases and will use cheap tests so as to not waste loads of £

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 12:45

@Matilda19 sorry about the bfn it is upsetting part of me is already dreading how this process makes you feel- when I think of the pressure I put myself under before it really makes me apprehensive doing this all again. Will see how I go.

Matilda19 · 25/05/2020 12:57

@musiceverywhere. Yeah just one period since had implant removed. When had implant id have few days of light bleeding but cant think if was super regular or not.
Just got few apps and put in when that period started and cycle being 28 days but dont know for sure. As havent really had a cycle yet.
Its so odd having some nausea heartburn bloated fullness but keep getting bfn
Unless ive got all my info wrong and app predicted ovulation different to when i did.. Kinda grasping on to that and hoping af will stay away x

Matilda19 · 25/05/2020 12:58

@Loladoodle think ive built me self up too quickly only first month of ttc and just had implant out but hoped so much it had worked with symptoms but maybe all hormonal changes. Fingers crossed af stays away x

@Loladoodle I've thought about this a lot and really listened to people on this thread about pressure and stress of people knowing. And I've come to an important decision. I've talked to four guys about being sperm donors, 2 want to just be a donor and 2 want to co-parent.

Initially, I thought the coparent thing would be the best idea. But I've changed my mind. First reason, the guys wanting to be coparents don't email me back and have then appeared flaky and not serious, or have wasted my time. So that's put me off.

The guys just wanting to be donors have been more practical and down to earth and therefore more helpful. And I really like that. They have asked me about methods and when I ovulate and are reassuring. So I'm going with the donor that has talked the most with me and said he wants to help for as long as it takes. I really really liked that.

Second reason, the deciding factor was something I realised from reading everyone's opinions and decisions about who they were telling and why. Keeping that to a minimum to lessen stress. I really appreciate how honest everyone was. And how people have talked about it from the perspective on being pregnant. Something I haven't been.

I'm not wanting to coparent because of my age and it might not work. I don't want to have someone invested in me conceiving. And if I don't catch I would be letting them down. It would be an added stress and I don't need that.

Sorry about the long post but I needed to sort my thoughts and feelings out x

Lynnysong · 25/05/2020 13:31

@musiceverywhere it's amazing how complicated the hormone cycle is. I hope it rights itself quickly for you.

Should I be doing the OPK thing? You can see ovulation by the raised temp thing and indication of it coming with fertile cm. I did try it once. But couldn't find a surge, some people get it quickly or at a different time. I'll maybe consider it again in a month or two. :)

Lynnysong · 25/05/2020 13:37

Found this:
www.kindara.com/blog/ask-kindara-can-i-have-eggwhite-cervical-fluid-but-not-ovulate-can-i-ovulate-without-an-lh-surge-can-my-lh-surge-be-low-and-undetected-by-opk

So I may just stick to CM and BBT for the time being. why is this so complicated lol xx

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 13:40

@lynnysong sounds like a smart decision. Keep it as simple for yourself as possible. You know you can do this alone or you wouldn’t be trying - co parenting could bring about more stress as you say not just now but even after you have a baby. Also- how lovely not having to share 😉

Lynnysong · 25/05/2020 13:47

@Loladoodle Thank you, this thread is amazing and I'm so glad we can talk here. fx for everyone. x

musiceverywhere · 25/05/2020 14:07

I think whichever method gives you results and that you're comfortable with is the right one for you. My job involves science and has to be accurate and I'm just not comfortable with the subjectivity of checking CM (and cannot reliably remember to check BBT as soon as I wake up so it would be pointless). I'm a person who needs a clear yes/no!! 😁 Of course an LH surge still doesn't mean there's an egg, and a lack of a surge doesn't mean there's no egg 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am aware to some extent of my CM but would only rely on that if OPK for some reason didn't help. I do think it's whatever works for you- but if it's not working maybe try something else.

Lynnysong · 25/05/2020 20:38

@musiceverywhere yeah very good points, it works so far. I like the fact that I can confirm ovulation with it :)

Loladoodle · 25/05/2020 20:44

@Happyhappy37 How are you feeling? I’ll be completely bonkers by 10dpo I’m impressed with how calm you are.

@musiceverywhere it’s been a lovely day, constructive mainly here though had a lot of chores to sort today so didn’t get to enjoy the weather as much as I’d have liked to. How are you feeling?

@Loladoodle I agree, @Happyhappy37 you're sounding v chill for 10DPO.

Sleeeeeepy · 25/05/2020 21:40

@musiceverywhere I'm back to working again tomorrow too. We both work full time from home at the moment, in shifts because the boys are almost 2 and 3.5, so nights and weekends too to make up hours. Booooo.

So sorry you got a bfn @Matilda19, that sucks.

Go with whatever feels right for you @Lynnysong, I prefer yes/no so just planning to use CB opks, worked for us with DS1😊
