Hi all,

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

@mrsmumsy00 hi! I don't know sorry :-( - everything I've read says usually between 6-10 days for implantation?

I really struggle as since coming off the pill all my periods are verrrry light (mostly dark brown / light spotting and last 1-2 days max) so they all seem like implantation bleeding. Makes it harder for me to accept every month as I always convince myself it might be implantation but I do think it's supposed to be a few days before your expected period usually xxx

TTCgee · 16/05/2020 21:56

@33Carr sorry to hear that :-( hopefully this will be our month!! Xx

MrsTtobe · 16/05/2020 22:11

@Sussexbysea I have to have b12 injections every 3 months. It was picked up on a blood test about 3 years ago. They were actually testing me for overactive thyroid as my symptoms were the same as yours. Tired 24/7 but couldn't sleep at night. Really fast pulse, generally weak and aching. But only thing that came back was my b12 deficiency. Are you on medication for it lovely?

@mrsmumsy00 fingers crossed for you. Just leave it a couple of days and test again. If you did ovulate later hcg might not be high enough yet.

Sussexbysea · 16/05/2020 22:15

@MrsTtobe nothing yet, need to see the specialist as lost of the medicines I can’t take because of trying for a baby. I’m easier to treat whilst not pregnant so it’s a blessing in disguise really

@mrsmumsy00 I’m about 15 dpo too

My period was due yesterday - had a bit of spotting then it stopped - now I’ve a bit today again and it seems to be gone ! Negative test though

raspberryjamlove · 17/05/2020 21:13

Hi @sussexbysea thanks for starting a new thead. A few days if feeling sorry for myself and feeling a little better soon wanted to say hi to everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone is planning on doing anything different this cycle? I think we're going to try and dtd every other day (apart from peak LH and ovulation day) as last month we did it every day for 5 days and let's just say by day 5 it was a challenge and definitely a chore! 😬😂 Plus I guess it's better to give the so erm a chance to replenish?!

Also...I say this now but I am vowing NOT to test easy and certainly not in frer. I reckon I got through about 8 last month, I went crazy!

X

lucymagoo · 17/05/2020 22:04

We aren't doing anything different this time as it's only cycle 2 for us 🙂 maybe if we get to 4 or 5 months we will look at options to mix it up but essentially just getting to it from CD10-16 probably. What's the research on DTD every day vs every other day?

Cloudrainbow · 18/05/2020 08:17

Hi Lucymagoo , there’s a small percentage increase in chance doing every day (something like 23 percent opposed to 21 percent if doing every other day) Not sure if exact percentages but a couple of percent different basically. However, if there’s any sperm issues it’s better every other day . I’ve got pregnant doing it twice in the fertile window and doing it 4x in a row before ovulation ! This cycle I’m going to probably do every other day and then a few days in a row before my normal ovulation (I used to bbt and normally on same day ) I am abandoning bbt and opks this cycle to relax a bit . Been ttc for a year - three pregnancies , 3 losses ☹️ X

PirateWeasel · 18/05/2020 08:19

I'm sure I read somewhere that every other day during fertile week is fine, but no harm in every day if you have the stamina for it! I'm not sure we do but we'll give it our best shot. Really don't want it becoming a chore though. TTC is stressful!

PirateWeasel · 18/05/2020 08:21

Oh cloudrainbow FlowersFlowersFlowers

Sussexbysea · 18/05/2020 08:58

The month before last we were at it every day during the FW. It became a chore and felt unnatural. Last month we followed the SMEP but no clue whether that works either but gave it a go anyway.

We’re going to take it easy this month, if it’s happens great, if it doesn’t then that’s fine too. Im 36 this year and it’s ticking over in my head that I’m getting older

OP posts:
MrsTtobe · 18/05/2020 09:23

Im 36 this year too @Sussexbysea I had my daughter at 33 and didn't feel old at all but as soon as i hit 35 i suddenly felt very aware that the clock was ticking. I worry that those eggs ive got left aren't much good. 🙈

We dtd every other day anyway. Whether im ovulating or not 🙊🙈 I don't use opks or temp because I just can't face the pressure on myself with it all. And I know for a fact it would take over my life... more than it already does. 😂

Cloudrainbow · 18/05/2020 09:33

Well I’m 40 this year so really in a panic which doesn’t help 😖 I have one dd already , had her at 37 no probs there. I always say I’ll be cool each month until it gets close to ov then I am worried I’m going to miss an opportunity! If I do get pregnant I have had test with a fertility clinic and they will support me and hopefully give a better chance then the last three losses.
I agree it was stressful temping and looking at opks , even though I have got pregnant that way I’m reverting to just regular bd and no poas til at least 9dpo 😆

Sussexbysea · 18/05/2020 09:59

I’m giving OPKs a rest too, I don’t need the added stress. My daughter is 4 at the end of the year and they classed me as an older mum back then!

So glad to have some fellow 30-somethings on here Smile

TTCgee · 18/05/2020 13:45

So sorry to hear that @Cloudrainbow :-(

This month I'm using preeseed and going to try pineapple core in the TWW - we've said we will give it all a shot for this month and then if no luck just try and relax again a bit for a few months!

Is anyone else trying for their first? :-) xxx

33Carr · 18/05/2020 13:47

@TTCgee We are trying for our first!

lucymagoo · 18/05/2020 14:10

Yes trying for our first, what's this about pineapple core? @TTCgee

33Carr · 18/05/2020 14:40

@lucymagoo @TTCgee Yeah I read somewhere that pineapple and grapefruit (correct me if I'm wrong) can increase the chance of implantation??

TTCgee · 18/05/2020 16:58

@lucymagoo @33Carr

Ahh we're for our first too! How are you both feeling about it? I go in waves of feeling relaxed and then suddenly panicking that it's never going to happen!

Yeah that's what I've heard! No idea if it's just an old wives tale but lots of people seem to think it's good! So pineapple core and also Brazil nuts seem to have something in them which helps thicken the uterine lining and therefore implantation supposedly. I actually really love both anyway so thought I may as-well just add a little more to my diet for those couple of weeks!

I've also added evening primrose oil as a supplement up to ovulation as that's supposed to help too. Hoping that it does! 🙏🏼 xxx

Sunshinelove8 · 18/05/2020 17:56

I take coq10 as supposed to help egg quality . Also vit D spray important as deficiency can cause mc .
I took two clearblues today and just got AF 😒 spent too much money ! Need to restrain from poas 😩

popcorndiva · 18/05/2020 18:26

I am currently taking Coq10, Vital DHA, Vitamin D and folic acid.
Drink Pomegranate juice in the morning as its meant to help cm. Trying to remember to keep drinking water constantly as well.

Ltay2 · 18/05/2020 18:41

@popcorndiva I am taking all of those too! Was meant to try grapefruit juice this time but not been able to find any in any shops near me.

Looking forward to seeing if COQ10 has done any good as it's the first cycle I've been taking that one.

TTCgee · 18/05/2020 18:43

Oh never heard of coq10 before! do you take it every day or just after ovulation? I'll have to order some! Xxx

Ltay2 · 18/05/2020 18:47

@TTCgee Take it every day but make sure to stop taking if you get pregnant. I've read that you need at least 600mg every day. I have 300mg tablets so I take them three times a day to make 900mg, or sometimes just twice if I don't remember the lunch time one.
