Testing around 11th June

Hi all,

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

@33Carr aww thanks!! 🥰 I know every day I was like 'I'm just gonna redownload the app' but felt like too much of a knob after my leaving speech 🤣🤣🤣

We followed the SMEP this month too and tried preeseed for the first time! I got myself all excited Friday with a temp spike up, I was also feeling really nauseous and had sore nipples, cramping , creamy CM and full on convinced myself I was pregnant - but now literally nothing and my temp is heading back down! Booo!

It's so weird cos every month I swear my AF symptoms have been completely different so each time I think it might be cos I'm preggo but nada! I think I'm just gonna test Weds morning (unless she sneaks up on me before then)

@TTCgee Hahahaha totally get what you mean about the exit speech!

I feel ok, sometimes I feel really positive and other times feel really meh. My nipples are more sensitive that usual but could be normal pre AF symptoms, also had creamy CM but otherwise quite dry so I think that's more indicative of AF too.

Hate the not knowing and having to wait to test, but also scared of testing as I know I'll be gutted even though I try telling myself it's ok and totally normal to take a while if it's another BFN. OH is SO chilled about it, and I envy how relaxed he is.

@muriel84 it was the CB advance monitor, you can test for pregnancy from 3 days before your period is due on that as well as the ovulation tests x

@mockingbird0805 that sounds promising, hope it sticks!!

@33Carr well done for resisting! That sounds like a much more sensible plan. I know I should have waited until wednesday but I couldn't take it any more! Keep thinking to myself, you're not out til you're out. I suppose I did jump the gun slightly

@33Carr honestly you could be describing my thoughts and my husband right there!

I'm the exact same ... I literally change my mind 10 times an hour like 'I'll just wait til Thursday and see if AF arrives late' and tell myself I feel chilled about it...then 10 mins later I'm like... actually ... this pregnancy test i have is a sensitive one so I'd probs be able to tell now if I am maybe I'll just do it now... back to 'no then I'll just be depressed again when I'm not' ... and round and round 😂

I literally have to force myself to take a walk or something to stop being such a freak! All the while OH is like ... it's gonna be fine... it's going to happen soon... don't stress... most couples take a full year etc etc.

Which is obviously lovely but I'm also like I wish we could trade brains for a bit 😂😂

@33Carr you're quite right, TTC in your first cycle is just as good a chance as any other cycle I guess. I think it's good not to get your hopes up too much but also not to feel too doubtful either...guess it's about striking the right balance to avoid driving yourself insane! x

welcome back @TTCgee :) no shame in popping back on - I swear I check mumsnet around once an hour, this afternoon I've been busy and am amazed when I few hours have passed and I haven't been on ha. Sorry to hear you're getting AF cramps, you never know though. I'm the same as you and @33Carr - keep changing my mind about when to test, I should really wait until AF is due on Saturday but it's so temping to try a few days earlier eeek x

@eastcoastgirl You're very true, until AF arrived, youre always in for a chance! Are you testing again on Wednesday?

@TTCgee YESS! I feel exactly the same, it's like a constant battle on my brain, I'd love to be able to switch it off for a while! If I get a BFN and have to do the TWW again next month I'm gonna HAVE to find a new hobby! Something that takes up a lot of my time and a lot of concentration haha! Any suggestions?!

I think OH finds it easier because the doesn't have the daily things to do/count down etc? Or maybe I just crazy and he ain't haha!

@MintGreenLife When you figure out how to find that balance, bottle that shit up and sell it cause you'd be a billionaire haha! Maybe I need to do some meditation or something, get some headspace!

Just had a nice shower and took some pampering stuff in so I could have some me time and distract myself, 10 seconds in I'm there just squeezing my nipples for ages trying to gauge if they feel differently. This has been happening far too often 😂

Nice to have you back @TTCgee! The allure is strong right lol! I used to wait for af as didn't see the point testing beforehand but since joining MN last month I tested early and regretted it. I tested at 12dpo, and again at 14dpo. Af is due Friday so think I'll test 14dpo again on Thursday so that it's just a day before. Not long to then wait for af!

@33Carr oh gosh I'm regularly cupping my boobs to see if they feel heavier and prodding my nipples to see if they are sensitive 😂 My first and only AF after stopping the pill started with super sensitive nipples about 4 days before AF, so I'm watching them like a hawk 😂 Hopefully you can take your mind off things and enjoy a bit of self care 😘

Haha oh man I don't think that's anything any of us manage to achieve for more than a few seconds at a time. I'm so up and down with this and it's only take 1 for me 🙈 X

@MintGreenLife I keep thinking it's ok, I'll be more chill next month and I'm definitely not! I reckon lockdown doesn't help, when we get back to normal hopefully then it will be easier to forget about it all a while (like 2 hours at least 😭😂)

How's everyone's week looking? Just looked at the weather and it's a week of rain and then thunder on Saturday! Oh joy! At least the flowers won't need watering! (Not that I do it anyway 🙄)

@Muriel84 thank you. I normally get cramps but much worse. I'm excited but really nervous as well cos I know its early. Testing again tomorrow to be certain. OH is not very helpful though he's so chilled hes almost horizontal. The indigestion isn't great at all but I'll take all the bad parts to just have a healthy baby at the end

Hi ladies, can I ask those of you that are using the opk sticks, do any of you have the app where you take photos of the sticks and it saves the time you took the test and (I think) gives you a score for how high/low fertility is for that day? Does anyone know which app I'm talking about? I've seen pictures somewhere that people have shared but I can't find them any more! Xx

Hi @eastcoastgal is the app you're thinking of premom? It's great for a free app and for the last 2 months I've used it and makes it much clearer and less of a guessing game! I also use femometer app as I use it for temping and it has the same feature so I do in both and both come out with the same results :)

@eastcoastgirl hey! I know the app you're talking about - or at least the one I use is called fermometer!

@33Carr @MintGreenLife what are we like 😂😂😂 I think it does just send you a bit nuts! And totally worse with lockdown! I think normally we'd have our social lives and nice things to look forward to to take our minds off it! But instead I just binge watch Selling Sunsets and squeeze my nipples / prod about to see where my bloody cervix is 🙈.

Yeah I think men do have it a lot easier as they literally only have to think about it when we bring it up vs monitoring every tiny twinge in their body!

I've promised myself to be less cray next TWW but I know already I'm lying to myself!

Ahh thanks @notyetamumbuttrying yeah I really try and avoid the early testing temptation as I find it that much more disappointing than AF! It's so hard though as at the same time you just want to know and the teeeeeny chance it might be positive is just so tempting! Xxx

Exactly that!! @TTCgee that's why I'm settled on Thursday now. If it's bfn then I know af is coming. You don't often get bfn that many dpo so at least it's one less day to wait for the answer! Then it'll be onto cycle 10 for me 😫 still month 9 tho as I have short cycles. What a mindfuck ttc is!

Glad to hear I'mnot the only one finding it hard to keep away from the tests! I'm telling myself I won't do one tomorrow but even now I'm thinking I'll probably just do one- just the cheap ones. I just want to know! I've not had any symptoms today. Was actually more energetic today than I've been in a few days. 6/7DPO I think. I'm going to try a FRER on wed or Thursday I think!

@eastcoastgirl I use Femometer. I take the pics of the sticks on that but I'm not sure how good I am at it. I used it to track ovulation with LH strips, but the lighting was throwing the results a bit I think. Still a good app to use to keep track of everything though!

@TTCgee oooooo are you enjoying selling sunset?! It's totally not my kind of thing at all but I love home/decor projects so binged watched it over a couple of days! Gotta say, can't wait for season 3 hahaha! OH had to leave the room when I had it on though haha

@33Carr well when all my friends were talking about it I thought that sounds so shite... then watched one... then the next 5 in a straight row 😂😂 to be honest it's perfect easy watching for me right now for taking my mind off! Although heart was aching for when she did her pregnancy test I found myself literally saying 'please be positive' out loud 😂

@notyetamumbuttrying @TTCgee haha I told all the girls at work to watch it too 😂 I think Maya was my favorite, and then Christine cause she's just so outrageous! I do not understand how she can walk in her louboutins, I'd be standing at a 45 degree angle just stood in them!
