Hi all,

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

@Sussexbysea message above - I can never tag first time x

Sussexbysea · 04/06/2020 10:37

He’s good for the children but my soul has been dented with the songs for life!!

Try for a baby is so confusing isn’t it. When you are younger, you’re scared to think that the first time you have sex you’ll get pregnant. Yet, here we are, trying for something we all really want.

I’m currently 10DPO, roughly. I’m currently under the care of a specialist at the hospital for thyroid issues and possibly PCOS so they’ve taken some bloods to see if I’m pregnant before giving me some meds for the conditions I have and possibly have.

Strange to think that a stranger will know that I’m pregnant before I do. That’s life though eh. I don’t think I am pregnant though.

I’m going to try and hold off from testing till at least Saturday.

Haha oh gosh, in a way hopefully I will have that to look forward to (TTC #1 at the mo) but also...really not looking forward to that either, if that makes sense!

This cycle has been so confusing for me, I have absolutely no idea if I actually ovulated. It's tempting to come to the conclusion that I haven't to avoid too much disappointment, but a small part of me thinks maybe I did and things are just a bit all over the place after stopping the pill in April.

Oh that must be a very strange feeling. Are you expecting a phone call? I actually had my thyroid levels tested in Jan, which came back normal - I had a slightly high thyroid as a teen and had some symptoms so thought I best get it checked before TTC.

You've not got too long to go now then :) might you get a phone call sooner than Saturday with the results from your bloods?

@MintGreenLife @Sussexbysea omg Mr Tumble is tooo much! My sisters kids love him but I am very unsure 😂😂

Good luck with the blood tests @Sussexbysea hope everything goes well!

@MintGreenLife I think it's totally normal to feel like this your first month! It's a mix of excitement and nerves and convincing yourself you are but also not wanting to let yourself think that so you don't get disappointed! Bloody rollercoaster !! Let's hope you get caught first time and if not you'll have a much better grasp on what's going on with your cycles before trying again next month! 🥰

I'm kinda in the same club- not sure I've even ovulated but then a small part of me can't help but think what if!

MintGreenLife · 04/06/2020 10:55

@TTCgee at least we are in a similar situation then :) it's so hard not to get carried away with symptoms isn't it. I had a few sharp twinges right in the middle of my tummy a few inches below my belly button two nights ago and was like 'ohhh, could that be implantation'?! On the one hand I was trying to be rational and say to myself that it couldn't be as I was only 3DPO, but then the other side of me says well perhaps you ovulated earlier than you think. So funny the things we tell ourselves and the conflicting sides! I'm not expecting much, but I know I will still be disappointed if I do get a BFN or AF arrives.

How are you feeling today? xx

Sussexbysea · 04/06/2020 11:29

@MintGreenLife if I’m pregnant it’ll be a phone call to get in soon for treatment as it can cause miscarriage.

If I’m not pregnant, I need to wait for an appointment in the post to start treatment. If Also, if it’s negative, we need to stop trying for 3-6 months. Heart breaking as the meds are harmful to an unborn baby. I’d rather be fitting fit before trying again

Testing on the 13th! Good luck girls xx

MintGreenLife · 04/06/2020 11:48

@daisy0805 I should be holding out until the 13th as that's when AF is due, but might go for the 11th instead! Good luck :) xx

TTCgee · 04/06/2020 11:52

I think I'm gonna test 11th unless AF shows up! @Sussexbysea thinking of you! Hope it all goes well xxx

fashu · 04/06/2020 12:30

Hi All,
Haven't been on here for a few days! so just catching up.
I've been using one-step tests and they are negative (with them being early ones I could test from 2nd June) and I was getting faint positives before so I am thinking they are very dodgy tests!!! I really want to get a first response but no1. can't get to a shop that sells them because they are only stocked in Liverpool Central and no.2 had it in my amazon basket so many times but don't want my husband to open the parcel and get excited!
I'm getting cramps on and off and a LOT of creamy CM. I did have a very very emphasis on the very light bleed on 29th May for 2 days.......hoping and praying but these one steps are killing me!

Also, no idea if i even ovulated, but also maybe thinking these one step ovulation kits are dodgy too!!!!
Also, my little boy Eesa met his cousins in the park this week and his little face made me want a sibling for him even more!
I've known in my heart everytime I have been pregnant well before testing, and tbh i feel that way now, but i don't know if its just wanting this so bad hahaha!

PirateWeasel · 04/06/2020 15:58

Oooh good luck to everyone testing soon! Feels like ages away doesn't it? I have suspicious crampy feelings although I'm not due until Sunday, so reckon I'm probably out.

PirateWeasel · 04/06/2020 15:59

@fashu here's 🤞 your instincts are right!!

TTCgee · 04/06/2020 17:11

@fashu I hope you're right 🥰🥰🙏🏼

TTCgee · 04/06/2020 17:12

@PirateWeasel I keep getting really crampy but not due til Wednesday. I got really intense cramps at 10DPO last month though and then just came on my period as normal 3 days later so I'm not going to let myself get excited thinking they might be implantation!

Amnah26 · 04/06/2020 17:36

@TTCgee @PirateWeasel

Thank you so much for all the love and support ladies. Joining this forum has been the best thing ever - So so over the moon to announce I am definitely expecting! It hasn't sunk in yet - having miscarried twice I don't wanna get carried away and my hopes up too high. But HCG levels must be high because I have a fixed 28 day regular cycle. AF not due till Sunday but taken a further 4 tests. Praying for all of you to get your BFP. If all goes to well - due on February 14th 2021!!!!!

Testing around 11th June
MintGreenLife · 04/06/2020 17:54

Just wondering if I could get your opinion on this... OH and I are aiming to DTD everyother day. Do you generally just DTD up to ovulation and then have a break afterwards? Because I'm not 100% sure I've ovulated - I've had two LH surges spread 5 days apart and my BBT chart is a bit all over the place, we are still DTD to be on the safe side, although if I did ovulate at my peak LH that makes me now 5DPO. Reason I ask is because I've read about a study that showed women who abstained from sex after ovulation were less likely to miscarry, although a similar smaller study proved the opposite, so seems kind of inconclusive. I think if I were 100% sure I had ovulated I might avoid it to be on the safe side, but was just wondering what everyone else does/thinks? Xx

MintGreenLife · 04/06/2020 17:58

@Amnah26 aww a valentine's baby 💕 Huge congrats!! Xxx

SmileyT · 04/06/2020 18:13

@MintGreenLife I'm with you on that 5/6dpo life (apps are saying different things) but may test at 12dpo on the 1st app which would be the 10th 🙊 I don't abstain although I know a lot of women do, tbh my cycle is pretty regular around 28days and the ovulations I've tracked have been CD14 and CD15 so if I abstained every TWW we'd only have sex one week a month for god knows how many months we are TTC and then DP would be certain I was just using him for his swimmers 😂 Also NHS suggest having sex every 2 to 3 days when TTC so concluded it couldn't be that bad, although it's obviously personal choice xx

@Sussexbysea ahh really hope this is your month especially if you have to take 3 months off 🤞

Congrats @Amnah26 🥳
