BBT still above coverline after bleed. Help?

Evening all.

I am looking for some advice and opinions please. This is my first month tracking bbt but it hasn’t dropped before AF when I expected it to.

CD19 - Ovulation according to clear blue monitor
12DPO - very very faint line. Brown spotting.
13DPO - another faint line. Heavy dark red bleeding. Assumed AF or chemical pregnancy loss.
14DPO - brown spotting, no red.
15DPO - light brown spotting. Faint line, looks darker than before but still stupidly faint.

I’m really confused and unsure as to what could be happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

The drs just said to go to A&E if I experience any pain but other than that they didn’t have much to say about it. She actually said I know more than she does... sigh. Anyway, I don’t have any symptoms. Maybe mild cramps if I think about it but very mild.

Thanks

Kirsty xx

@AnxiousAnnie86 this was the 1st month that it wouldn’t let me test much at all so I decided to OPK alongside this coming cycle just to be sure.

I had some spotting yesterday (all a darker brown colour) but it’s done now. I don’t have any other symptoms.

Don’t be too downhearted about not dtd, 3 days ago is still in your system and can still do the job. Maybe try and dtd today? My temp gradually rose after OV rather than went straight up so I’m sure yours will do that too tomorrow.

Here is my temp today, dropped but still above coverline. This is now day 17. Bfn no on an easy at home test :( I guess I’m out this month and my temp is just playing tricks on me :(

@kcf90 would that of been a normal period for you? Sounds very short? But sometimes I only have a day of proper bleed?

If another test comes back negative, maybe start on EP, I take two a day alongside seven seas trying for a baby,

I have bought soy isoflavones to try next month as my problem seems to be ovulation, it can range from day 16 to day 32 so want to regulate that

We dtd for three consecutive days when I got my first positive so hopefully!! Will try again tonight maybe

kcf90 · 13/05/2020 07:58

@AnxiousAnnie86 I wouldn’t have said it was normal for me. It was very Heavy and dark red for 1 day. Usually I’m medium flow for a day and then light for a day. With spotting a day either side. The brown blood is quite normal for me (which is something I worry about).

I did think it was a chemical when I started bleeding as I had a few faint lines beforehand. But would temp still remain elevated if it was a chemical?

I will start the EPO tomorrow. I think the dosage I got was 1000mg. I feel so deflated. I was desperate to have children before I turned 30 and my 30th is june, I really feel depressed. This whole process has aged me massively from the stress.

I ovulate quite late, around CD18-23. The drs wouldn’t give me advice on any supplements etc so I am too scared to try so many different things.

Have you ever tried to cup method? My sister in law suggested it to me. She tried for 2 years and fell pregnant the 1st month she used the cups. Then with her 2nd it took 2 months xx

Lots of BFNs today. Going into 18dpo tomorrow :(

I guess I just need to assume my temps are wrong? Xx

Hi guys! Mind if I join in? I'm trying for my first and on my 3rd cycle! Just noticed you are tracking BBT and I've started this month. also I've not had the egg white CM either since coming off the pill in December... I'm trying evening primrose oil for the first time this cycle and I'm CD4 so will report back if it helps at all.

We've also just got preeseed so we're going to try this month. A bit nervous about using it but thought it's worth a go? Xx

kcf90 · 13/05/2020 20:59

@TTCgee of course not, welcome :)

This was my 1st month tracking bbt but we’ve been trying over a year. I wish I had a few cycles of tracking bbt under my belt because this first month has left me extremely confused.

Definitely let me know how you get on with evening primrose oil. I’m thinking I’ll start it next week if I keep getting bfns. How much will you be taking daily?

We swapped from conceive plus lube to the preseed one last month. We used it as a lube but I did also use a syringe a couple of times beforehand too xx

TTCgee · 13/05/2020 21:08

Hey - thank you! :-) yes I will do! so it's just a seven seas one that's mixed with starflower oil too but it's 1000mg in each tablet?

Ahh great. Yeah I wasn't sure on the idea at first of using the lube as didn't want to make it feel 'too mechanical' if that makes sense but I just thought 'screw it' we may as well go all out and see if it makes a difference.

I'm hoping this month is the one! Fingers crossed xxx

kcf90 · 13/05/2020 21:20

@ttcgee I have 1000mg too, I’m just not sure what the recommended dosage is when ttc. Will just do one tablet a day and see if it works.

My fingers are crossed for you :) xx

Did you get a positive opk before your temp rise? Any chance you are ill at the moment to keep a raised temp?
Jeez this must be quite stressful for you :( temping is supposed to help, not be more confusing!

kcf90 · 13/05/2020 21:38

@NannyPear yeah I got a peak on my clear blue fertility monitor on the day shown.

I don’t feel ill at all so I don’t think it is that?

It is just confusing. I want answers but I think I need to forget it and move onto the next cycle. It doesn’t make sense though as everywhere would suggest 18 high temps = pregnancy. I see stories of people not get bfps for a long time but it seems quite rare. And my 1 day bleed just adds to the confusion xx

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/05/2020 06:54

@kcf90 sorry to hear your having such a confusing time, I would take this as a new cycle possibly your temp may drop back soon, mine didn't drop till after period this month. I would definitely start up with EPO I don't know if that's contributed but I've had two weeks of Ewcm!!! So that's got to help if you are DTD lots up to your fertile period too!! X

kcf90 · 14/05/2020 07:46

I give up.. exactly same temp as yesterday but a bfn in my clear blue fertility monitor and the easy@home stick :( I really hoped it would be a little miracle for my birthday xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/05/2020 07:54

@kcf90 I'm really sorry :( it's the absolute hardest part of the cycle :( what CD will you be now? Try focus on this month again as hard as it is, take EPO etc I'm taking beroccas everyday too as vitamin C is meant to be amazing for building up uterine lining have you tried yoga or anything? Xx

kcf90 · 14/05/2020 08:40

@AnxiousAnnie86 I’m cycle day 6 of new cycle so I’d be cycle day 37 if carried from the last. I am going to keep phoning my drs every 2 weeks as they were going to refer me to fertility specialist before covid! Xx

OP posts:
kcf90 · 14/05/2020 12:01

Just done a FRER and it was a bfn. Temping hasn’t been fun! :( xx

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/05/2020 12:40

@kcf90 I know it stresses me out sometimes when I don't see it raising etc, cd 6 now? Due to ovulate in 10 days was it? Just keep temping and see how it goes this month, it can take a few to get your head round, I'm onto my fourth temping x

kcf90 · 14/05/2020 12:43

@AnxiousAnnie86 yeah cycle day 6 now and predicted ovulation in 15 days urgh. Will start EPO today too xx

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/05/2020 12:50

It's a crappy long wait isn't it! That's why I'm going to start soy isoflavones if this month doesn't work, see if I can bring ovulation to before CD20 at least.... x

kcf90 · 14/05/2020 13:04

@AnxiousAnnie86 I daren’t try too much in case it messes things up. Want to see the fertility clinic first. Do let me know how it goes :) it’s interesting to hear other ideas. We will try the cup method this month xx

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 14/05/2020 13:04

I’m really sorry op to hear you’ve been having such a stressful time not knowing what’s going on.
I don’t temp or anything so can’t offer any advice re that, but I can definitely recommend soy isoflavones for bringing ovulation forward.
My ovulation tended to be around cd22 which always seemed like such a long wait at the start of every new cycle. But this cycle I decided to try soy. I took it from cd3-7 and for the first time it brought m ovulation forward to cd14. Well I got my positive test on cd14, so ovulation on cd15!
I’m now 12dpo with bfn’s and feel like af is coming BUT to have seemingly brought ovulation forward was amazing. I did carry on testing through the month after I’d got my peak just to make sure it wasn’t a false surge or anything, and nope, I had no other positive tests.
Definitely worth a try.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 14/05/2020 13:08

@Moominmiss it was actually your post that prompted me to buy some on another thread!! I have some waiting for next cycle and will do the same 3-7 what mg did you take again? Xx

Moominmiss · 14/05/2020 13:35

@AnxiousAnnie86 well I hope you see an improvement like I did. Granted I’ve only taken them for one cycle so far, but to see such a difference straight away was amazing so I’ll be trying them again next cycle! I think 3-7 seems a good choice, and sort of the middle ground. Not too much risk of producing multiple eggs, but enough time to produce mature healthy eggs, and taken early enough to bring ovulation forward.
So I take the tescos ones which contain 40mg of soy isoflavones per tablet. I will be taking 4 tablets (160mg) on cd3 and cd4, then I will up to 5 tablets (200mg) on cd5, 6, and 7.

Good luck! 🤞🏻

kcf90 · 15/05/2020 08:07

@Moominmiss hey! Thank you ever so much for the recommendation, it’s definitely something I’ll look into and ask my dr about. I’m so pleased it worked for you, long cycles make this journey so much harder so hopefully now it’ll happen much quicker for you.

I’m still so nervous with trying things like that, I wish I wasn’t as I read good things about it but I am scared to mess things up and make my cycle worse.

My temp has dropped again today but still above coverline. It wouldn’t be like this if pregnant so I’m giving up thinking there is a chance, it’ll likejj I y drop below tomorrow.

OP posts:
kcf90 · 15/05/2020 08:09

Urgh that posted by accident.

I did get a faint positive on one test yday but I think it was an evap. Zilch today. I also did an frer and that was stark white. So fed up of this journey and terrified it’ll never happen xx

@kcf90 sorry to hear you are having a hard time. :-( it's so frustrating when you read about what should be happening then your body seems to be the only one not playing ball.

I started temping this month and mine has been all over the show! Literally dropping then up like a yo-yo. I know it feels awful but we just have to try and stay positive - it will happen xxx
