Late, early symptoms, negative test

Hello everyone. I am sure someone may have already started a discussion about this, but I really need to talk about this. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 6 months.

Last week I started to feel unwell, a bad headache, nausea and butterfly feelings in my lower stomach. I have always had regular periods, however this month my period is now 4 days late. We were excited to take a pregnancy test, however, 4 tests down and still no positive.

Has anyone else experienced this and come out with a positive test eventually? Should I be concerned that there is another problem?

I had about 8 negatives on cheap tests and then bought a digital one and got a positive!! Are you using good quality tests? I was also told to test in the morning as it's more accurate! Hope you get the result you want soon!

Clear blue or first response are good

Thank you so much for your replies. I have used Clearblue tests including the ultra early ones as I thought it would be more sensitive if I had low levels of HCG. I test with an ultra early one this morning and still nothing!

Me too! My husband keeps asking every time I got to the toilet if there is any sign of blood as well! I can't stop thinking about it. But just worried there could be a problem. It is such a worry when they say the tests are 99% accurate from the day your period is due

Joining in as I’m the same. Period now 3 days late, done a couple of tests but both negative. Going to test again in the morning if period still hasn’t arrived!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one in this situation. It's always on your mind isn't it? I have read a few things now, and I think I am going to wait until the end of next week to test again.

Are you tracking ovulation? It's possible you ovulated later than you thought.

No I haven't really tracked ovulation. I use an app to track my period which has always been very accurate and always seems to arrive when it says. I don't trust it for ovulation as I have taken ovulation tests in the past when it says I'm in the fertile window and they have never shown positive.

Does ovulating later mean that my period will be late or that the HCG will take longer to show on a test?

@bird22 I am in the same situation my AF is now 4 days late & I have taken FRER & all negative. Symptom wise I've just had all the feelings AF was gonna come but the past week nothing so I've just kind of thought I'm having a wonky month, maybe not even ovulated at all (cause I dont track ovulation) so I bought OPKs & have started doing them cause I see no signs of AF appearing so dont want to miss ovulation 🙈 I've actually had high OPKs for the past 2 days now so who knows what going on.

I really hope you've maybe just ovulated later & u get your BFP 🤞🏻 cause I know how stressful it is just wanting either that BFP or AF to arrive to move on to another cycle x

How strange! Our bodies are very unpredictable I guess! Fingers crossed for you as well!

@bird22 thanks for starting this thread, it's nice to read others are in the same boat. I'm 4 days late, no sign of period and no sign of pregnancy. It's so confusing. Let's all hope for good news in the next few days

I'm now a couple of days late too. I had a spot of blood on Friday morning when AF was due, and then today brown spotting/discharge which I never have prior to AF, just at the end. I've had all the signs of AF appearing, light cramping, sore boobs etc. But no proper AF! I've been testing using cheap internet tests but all BFN, but haven't tested again today.

Glad I'm not the only going through this! My google searches are going mental 🙈

Same boat, 3 days late - I track ovulation. Negative tests except for when I was 10dpo I had one faint positive but since then nothing. Had EWCM for last 4 days which has never happened when AF is due!

Hi, I am 8 days late with 3 negative tests and no sign of period! I feel so lost :( Good to know I am not the only one

@KateColx Just us again with our weird month 😂 I swear were like twins, even both had the faintest line before AF which was obviously an indent (I read reviews on those FRER from Amazon, was quite a lot of not good ones) I've started using my cheapy OPKs but there far too confusing 🤯

I had no ovulation symptoms, normally loads of cramping and EWCM. But I had 4 days flashing smiley then static smiley. Since then I've tested and had circles. If I didn't ovulation test I would say I didn't ovulate! It's so confusing I just have no idea what's going on. Weird there is so many of us! Maybe covid stress? I've been furloughed but I'm not particularly stressed about it all. Just waiting to go back to work when safe.

@KRK05 oh no are they not easy to figure out? Are they the ones where you have to compare it to the test strip? I know it's driving me mad now, I've had some AF feeling cramps this afternoon so really hoping it just shows up soon 😫

@KateColx I think its just too much effort tbh, I drink alot & pee alot so it's like having to deprive myself to do them, I can see why others would find them stressful. Yeah the ones u take pictures of on the app, it is good to see the chart though, although mines only has been 2 days 🙈 Might just crack open the CB as that's just FMU so easy enough 😂 oh did u, I hope appears soon for u 🤞🏻 have u tested again? When was the last time u did?

@lydia771 I know theres so many threads about AF being no show it has to be down to COVID but I definitely dont feel stressed cause of it tbh, maybe the first couple or weeks but now just used to it. I see u use CB advanced. I got it all ready for AF appearing to start on my upcoming cycle but I have a feeling not starting anytime soon I have none of my usual pre-AF symptoms. Do u think I could just go ahead & start using my CB? I know it says roughly from day 8 of cycle but I'm not wanting to miss ovulation & I'm finding the cheapy OPKs far too confusing & time consuming 🤦🏼‍♀️

@KRK05 it's arrived!! With a vengeance 😑 but I'm just glad it's shown up. Fingers crossed we're still in sync and yours makes an appearance soon so we can tackle CB!! I hadn't tested since Friday morning, I'd given up!! Have you tested recently?

@KateColx Ahhh I'm actually so jealous I've never had a cycle this long & it's only our first month TTC I feel like I'm being punished or something 🙈😂 I hope at the end of next cycle it's a BFP for u 🤞🏻 I'm gonna start doing my CB tomorrow I've officially just given up so not gonna stress with those cheapies I might end up doing them 2/3x a day then end up with AF 🤷🏼‍♀️ So just stressing myself out even more with them! CB is much simpler just FMU then done for the day 😂 I think the last time I tested was Friday I've lost track now 🤔 il test Wednesday thatl be a week late even though I know its gonna be a BFN but will save me thinking 'what if' good luck for this cycle 💕

Really stuck with what to do. Absolutely no sign of AF and another negative this morning, should I just carry on as if I did have my period when it was due and ovulation test when I'm due to this month as normal? Can you just not have a period sometimes? I've never missed my period before only when on contraception 😭

@lydia771 I know exactly how you feel. I have no idea what to do next! How late are you?

@bird22 5 days. Not even a niggle of period pain! My cycle has been 40 days since coming off the pill in October then last cycle was 36 days (I strongly think this was down to taking pregnacare that month) god only knows what is going on 😭😭 it's beyond frustrating just really want it to start so I can move on with my life and focus on next cycle!
