Pregnancy test faint line

Done this test and just before two minutes I got this result (1st picture) I'm using the coil as contraception so not sure if it's an evap line. The second picture is at 8 minutes. This was using afternoon urine

Unsure of dpo or last period because I haven't had one however I did have two days of spotting on the 13th April
Any opinions ?

Is this a sainsburys test? If so ive had this, its neg but they have bad evap lines that look positive. If not perhaps retest with a red dye as i can see that. Xx

unsure2020 · 02/05/2020 20:24

It's a Tesco one 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hi, posting because I've just got a positive pregnancy test while I have the coil!

ohgodhelpme · 03/05/2020 07:40

By the way that's definitely a second lline, those tests are common to have an Evap line but that is a blue line.

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 07:44

@ohgodhelpme which coil have you got? I have the Mirena one, I'm in shock at the minute but taking it one step at a time until I get a definite answer. I hope I'm not pregnant really! Have you tested?

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 07:52

Sorry just read and you have tested. What test did you use?

OP posts:
ohgodhelpme · 03/05/2020 07:52

I have the copper coil. Yes I've got 3 positives, I'll try and post a pic

ohgodhelpme · 03/05/2020 07:53

I used first response and then 2 Waitrose ones.

There definite positives! I just wish I knew one way or another. I only have a cheapy pink dye left now, the Tesco freedom one, the blue dye were Tesco's own brand, I hope I'm not pregnant and they are just Evaps or something! How are you feeling?

I can definitely see a second line, but everything you read on here says blue dye tests are bad for evaps. Your cheapy pink dye test might be a good option... Sorry if it's not what you want OP

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 08:26

@MsFrog thanks, il test again tomorrow and see what pink dye says, it's not ideal at the minute but not such a bad thing really

Yeah not knowing is the worst. I was feeling like it was the end of the world, as I haven't been with my boyfriend long, we already have 5 kids between us, but I am starting to feel ok about it now. Definitely do a pink dye yest they are the best ones I have found x

oralengineer · 03/05/2020 08:49

You need to contact your GP ASAP due to increased risk of atopic pregnancy with coils. They will want to send you for a scan.

ohgodhelpme · 03/05/2020 08:51

They didn't say it was necessary for a scan, the nurse managed to remove mine yesterday and just said to watch out for the symptoms of an ectopic.

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 09:22

@ohgodhelpme I will retest tomorrow with a cheap pink dye.

@oralengineer should I ring then now or when I've tested again with a pink dye?

I feel crampy today and have a bit of an upset stomach, my heads all over the place

OP posts:
ohgodhelpme · 03/05/2020 12:19

I often have cramps early on in pregnancy. I've had 4 babies and all of them I had it. I think you need to get the pink dye test done and go from there, as those blue ones just arnt that reliable 😩

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 12:57

Yea il do that, hopefully it's a negative !!!

BTay15 · 03/05/2020 13:05

@unsure2020 I did 2 Tesco ones that came out almost the same as yours 2 months ago, line was blue and thick! I wasn’t pregnant though ..... hope that helps a bit and you get the result you want Smile

pooopypants · 03/05/2020 13:28

As far as I remember, the result given after something like 5 mins, should be disregarded. The result is given after 2-3 mins, depending on the test. It should be read (photographed maybe to refer back to) immediately and then not read again. My understanding is that evap lines and false readings may be given after that time

FRER is a pink dye test and tend to give more accurate results than any blue dye test and are the most sensitive for early pregnancy detecting.

unsure2020 · 03/05/2020 14:20

@BTay15 that's great! You've calmed me down a bit, thankyou !!!
