Ok, girls, our last thread did get crazy long so I am starting this one. If you don't like the name - well... too bad You'll get used to it over time .

ILTC, hi there sista! I feel like we're SO alike. Can you believe that my bleeding started again today? I was quite . And out of all places it started in a zoo when we were watching little sheep at the "petting zoo" section with DS and DH. Grrreat!~ Hope you're feeling better and this mess if over soon for all of us .

Rosybelle, hi there~ [sends a wave] Com'on over - sorry you're here but it's easier to get through things together. If you read my previous posts you know what I have to say - ERPC (or D&C) all the way. Good luck!

Scully, hi... you sound like me... actually my DH who is very much doubting TCC'ing again. And that's just after one MC! Well... we did have a stillborn DD1 but went on to have a beautiful DS. What would have happened if we got scared back then and didn't do it. Ooops, promised not to talk about it until mid-Oct. That's when my MC blood/ tissue results are back from the lab to tell us what was wrong with the baby. We agreed we wouldn't make any decisions until we find out.

Cricri, I know you won't be chechking this thread until later but hope your weekend in Holland is fab!

Hugs and smooches to all!

Kateandmom- I was testing positive PG almost 4 weeks after my MC. My doctor told me that it can take up to a month for the hormone to leave the body. I hope it isn't still causing you too much bother.

I've never done acupuncture before. My mom swears by it. I did however manage to conceive just after one reflexology session. Like Kateandmom says it probably just chilled me out. I'll go back and do it again next month for sure.

Breaking news: apparently Kerry hasn't had a MC after all, just heavy bleeding. Good luck to her.

EllieG · 26/09/2007 17:33

nh your job is SO cool! Am very jealous. You know when celebs moan that everything in the papers is made up though - are they just saying that? Are all the mad stories true?

I made some chocolate muffins with cadbury buttons for choc chips in last night and have just eaten another one as having to work late.

ronshar · 26/09/2007 18:13

That is one cooooool job. Although dealing with neurotic clebs all day must get tedious!
Do you get to go to all the cool parties?
Excellent look how shallow we all are. We really do need to get out more. (Or in bed more)

ClairePO · 26/09/2007 18:19

Hello all, hope you're all OK and thanks for the welcome.

I've been back to work today for the first time since we left for holiday in early Sept. Two staff members are 3 months pregnant. I put a brave face on it when my asst manager was telling and then she started going on about how other asst manager in my dept is pregnant too (he's a he) as he has morning sickness, swollen ankles, mood swings etc and another guy in my dept sitting next to her was chipping in too with the jokes and the laughs, I was just sitting there thinking just shut the fuck up (pardon my french) while outwardly trying to smile.

Got back to my office and was nearly in tears and one of my fellow partners (who knows about m/c) came in and said just go home. So I did. I think I'm more hormonal than I realised. I'm gonna go wallow in a bath soon and have a glass of vino. Or two.

iliketosleep · 26/09/2007 18:32

ooooh gossip we heard it here first thats actually horrible of the papers spreading shit about her when its not true especially in such a delicate area poor girl i will look at that link now thanks

katendmom · 26/09/2007 18:34

ClairePO I absolutely hear you. Kinda what I meant in my earlier post about "triggers." When I was in the office on Mon, a coworker was showing scan pictures of her 7 mnth baby (get it? scan pictures - he's due in Dec).

She was like "yeah... he's fine... whatever. I just want this over and done with." So we were like "are you excited? Are you looking forward?" and she was like "... I guess. I'm sorry. My attitude is so bad but I am just so done with it. Whatever."

I felt like I was about to just smack her on a back of her head! What's wrong with you?!

Really good move about going home and getting some R&R. Take it easy and TRY not to think back to this conversation.

Everyone who answered my hormonal question LOL - thank you! For whatever reason I thought that if you have a procedure, your hormones just jump back into shape. Good to know that I should give it another 2 wks at least. (Makes me feel better about skipping a couple of nights and not TCC'ing - was just very tired. Now I know - probably nothing would have happened anyway. Oh but I do adore my DH and I swear - I 'do it' because I love him, not just for babies!

(Kate raises her hand, puts it on the Bible and swears)

Very impressed by your job nh....nothing else to say about that really!

All- are we still doing the cake thing in November....nobody got back to me about dates. SHould I set up a thread dealing specifically with cake fest??????????

FlossieF · 26/09/2007 19:18

Offices do seem to be a hotbed of baby related stress. I went back to work today for the first day after my 2 ERPCs and infection malarky, and was delighted to discover that our two new mothers bought their babies in to show off last week. V. glad I missed that.

I've also started acupuncture. Apparently, today she unblocked a severe blockage between my grief and anger meridiens . When you relate what she says and does to you, my bulls**t meter jumps off the scale, and the jury's definitely out on whether it actually works! Having said that, I definitely think the TLC factor of having a nice lady to talk to about everything, and having 1 hour of undivided (pseudo)medical attention (which obviously you don't get from the HNS) does very good things psychologically. And as the placebo effect definitely exists, I'm suspending disbelief, and going with it.

Useful info on the hormones. I was about to get myself a pg test to see how I'm doing, but might wait a bit longer. Having said that, I'm pretty sure my body realises it is no longer pregnant (after 1 medical management and 2 ERPCs you really think it ought to have noticed) as my boobs have shrunk back to their useful miniscule size. Big boo hiss....

Anyway, please keep your fingers crossed for me - during my first ERPC the doctor noticed "something unusual" on my cervix, and took a biopsy, and I'm going in for the results tomorrow. Have been trying hard to forget about it. Now quietly terrified.... It just goes on and on....

positive · 26/09/2007 19:37

Hi ClairePO, Kate and everyone

know what you mean about 'triggers'. When I went back to work after my mc found out that one of the other girls was preg. I only saw her for about a week and then she went off sick for nearly 4 mths - there was nothing wrong with her. she hated her job and stated 'I dont want to be here so i'm going to get a sick line' then came back for 2 wks before starting maternity leave.
I know it seems silly now but her saying that really annoyed me at the time esp when you think of how many people have real problems during pregnancy.

On a happy note, ive put my feet up all afternoon - sooo lazy but hey it was great.

Just finished a bowl of strawberry triffle it was heaven

positive · 26/09/2007 19:39

FlossieF,

hope all goes well for you tomorrow xx

katendmom · 26/09/2007 19:41

Are you guys for real? Like you're going to get together face to face in R/L and eat real cake? In November? Like where? I bet I don't need visa, so just a ticket to get me over the ocean! I'd do anything for cake!

Wow! I can't believe that you're going to have this cool get-together... and there will be me... lonely me in the USA... all by myself

FlossieF good luck tomorrow! Remember - it can be a very innocent cyst with nothing to it. Keep your head high and get all the info that you can. Knowing is always better than guessing. (Just wait ? when the time comes for me to get my results in mid-Oct, I?ll need some serious drugs to keep me sane!)

Rosy how are you, girly? Have not heard from you today... Hope you're just taking time to recover.

Cricri are you all done and over with your thingy?

Goingfor3 how are you feeling? Did the prescription from your doc help ya?

nh101 nothing to tell you. I still can't get over the fact that you get to do THIS for leaving and I work for an insurance company. Boo-hoo...

OP posts:
katendmom · 26/09/2007 19:44

Positive how long is that maternity leave where you guys are? We get 6 wks paid (8 wks if you have a c-section) and then you can take up to 8 more wks at no pay. THAT ALL! So with my DS I worked on Friday and had him next Tue (I was saving every minute so I could stay longer home with him).

People in the office were afraid that my water would break! LOL

So my poor bumble bee started nursery at 4 mnth!

My jaw dropped when I read about this co-worker of yours. Maybe I want to relocate!

ronshar · 26/09/2007 19:45

I think we have a date of 9th November for the cake fest. EllieG is over from Guernsey and I will be touching her bump. So to save Ellie from me and my unwelcome bump attention you had all better join us!.
Not sure where though. We shall need somewhere for the pregnant ladies to sit down this time.
Any suggestions????

ronshar · 26/09/2007 19:52

Crikey Kat we get 6 months paid leave, and an option for a further 6 months unpaid. It isnt full pay mind you. It goes down month by month.
When I had dd1 it was 16 weeks, I had to give up BF because there was no where for me to express at work! This was in a hospital!

I have had investigations into my cervix. I had some naughty cells. They were removed very easily and now I have to have yearly smear tests. I now have an erosion(sp)on my cervix. It makes it more exciting for the nurse to get enough cells.
Dont worry too much you will often get changes when pregnant. & after being pregnant.

Claire take it easy do not rush into thinking you are ok. It takes a while for you to get back to normal. Hang in there you will be ok again soon.

splishsplosh · 26/09/2007 19:55

Flossief - hope everything goes well tomorrow
Rosy - how are you today after going to hospital yesterday?

I STILL don't have any cake in the house - I like sound of your muffins EllieG - have you any to spare?

Nh101 - your job must be great - do you ever find it really hard to keep the gossip to yourself?

positive · 26/09/2007 20:00

Hi Kate,

was going to say if all goes well... but when all goes well and LO arrives in April i'll be able to take a year off on maternity leave. 1st 6wks on full pay, 19 on 90percent. i'm not sure the exact figures for the next 6 mths have to check with salaries and wages in work but think I get paid for 3 mths not usre how much and nothing for the last 3 mths.
I then get 13wks of unpaid leave until LO is 5yrs old which is arranged with my line manager - not many people use this but its there if needed.
You don't have it very good over in US with maternity leave. where in US are you if you dont mind me asking??

RosyBelle · 26/09/2007 20:01

Hi Ladies
A cake fest sounds cool!

Good luck tomorrow FlossieF - let us know how it goes....

NH - OMG OMG OMG - I want your job! Can you get us a mention?? "Nutters on MN website - all they do is get pissed on pretend wine and eat cake thats not real".
I bought OK yesterday to sit through the awful wait to go into theatre... and I read your work while waiting for my erpc... this world is MAD I tell you!!

Kate (an E on the end!!) in my job I get 6 months on FULL PAY - and another 3 months on basic pay... good I know.. if you can get pregnant and hold on to it...

Won't go into the whys and wherefores of yesterday - just involved some cervix gel & incompetant staff and an emergency rush down to theatre... anyone else had that stuff shoved up their fandango before an erpc??

Luv to all
Rosy
x

cricri · 26/09/2007 20:03

I'm happy to join you for cakes on 9 Nov! Perhaps we should get an idea of how many people will be coming and then sort out a venue?
Katendmom - bleeding seems to have stopped again at the moment, thanks for asking. I've probably got a few more days of stop-start and sanitary towels yet though.
I didn't realise the US was so stingy when it came to maternity leave! You guys don't get much annual leave either do you? The UK is not so bad from that point of view - it was 16 weeks where I worked in Holland although that wasn't a Dutch company.
Rosy - hope you're doing OK and recovering after yesterday.
Lcy - haven't heard from you for a few days. Hope you're OK.
FlossieF - fingers crossed for you tomorrow. Keep us posted.
Hello to everybody else!

katendmom · 26/09/2007 21:35

Positive that is a sweet deal you get there! I am in Pennsylvania (East Coast) and I work for the company that is in top 100 for working mothers!~ So most of my friends don't even get what I get!

Lots of girls choose to stay home with their lo but then it is getting SO hard to get a job in USA that you risk loosing lots of what you've worked so hard for.

Now... keeping your kid in a good daycare isn't cheap either! We pay a $1000.00 a month for our little bumble bee to go to his kiddie school (Goddard). We love everything about it and he is crazy about that place but a $1000.00 bucks a month?!

Rosy... doesn't sound good... not sure I have it in me to ask for details... definitely not if you're not up for sharing. I probably had something shoved up there but I was under anesthesia so I don't know... Don't worry about Kat or Kate - my MN nick names is a combination of my kids' names - Kate (DD who we lost) and D is for "Dannik" my son's name.

I am very about your cake fest, girls but good for you!!! Sounds as awesome as n101 job!

I'm not drinking pretend wine, my wine is real. Why are you all drinking pretend wine? OK I feel like a bad person now. Ho hum I'm over it

How come everyone gets such a good deal with maternity leave? Where are you all? I'm stuck on UK statutory

LittleSquirt · 26/09/2007 23:38

Hi Everyone! Been lurking for a while but thought I'd finaly contribute

I work for Microsoft and if I get pregnant and manage to hold on to lo (had a MMC in June) then I'll get 6 months full pay and the option of taking another 6 with no pay.

A friend of mine works for Accenture though and she gets 9 months full pay! Plus, apparently she can call them a few weeks or days (not sure) before she is due to come back, tell them she doesn't want to come back and keep all the money they paid her for the 9 months. (with Microsoft if I decided not to come back at the end of the 6 months, I'd have to give most of it back).

How cool is that?

KatenDMom you guys really do get such a raw deal on maternity pay/leave in the States!! You need to start a revolution or something (I am French so revolutions always seem a good solution to most problems!! )

positive · 27/09/2007 08:06

Hi Kat

I can understand what you say about jobs in US. I have family in California. When my cousin had her 3dc - her youngest is now 18 -she just gave up work because mat leave was so bad and even trying to get child care back then was going to be a nightmare for her.
When the youngest went on holiday in august she was told if she took longer than 2wks off not to come back. she is working in a pizza place for a year so she can afford to go to college next year obviously she hasnt told her boss that!!
so I can understand how people become worried about losing their job if this is how a boss treats someone who wants a holiday never mind going on maternity leave.

On a happy note, i've manage to eat breakfast this morning and hold on to it - sorry TMI
I'm feeling better today. it may be cold here but the sun is shining I'm going to wrap up warm and go out a bit later on and tidy up my garden with the help of my dad.

Thats all for the moment.
Hope everyone is keeping well today.

good vibes and positive thoughts

ClairePO · 27/09/2007 08:59
