11 days late but clearblue says negative - anyone else had this ?

willitwontit · 28/04/2020 23:36

...just that really and apologies for TMI below.
Used a clearblue (not digital) with second wee of the day, no second line came up.
Period is 11 days late, I’m usually on a 29/30 days cycle - have been late once in the past year but only about 4 days.
I got tender boobs, had lots of wetness discharge around the time I should have had my period (seems to have finished now), lots of cramps to the left - but they seem to feel in more sort of belly area (about 7-8cm unsee belly button) rather than much lower/uterus.
We weren’t actively trying but not avoiding it either (plan to start trying in the near future anyway), DTD I think a bit earlier (couple of days) than what I would consider to be ovulating day (but never calculated properly or took temp so don’t know for sure) however we used withdrawal method - before I get slaughtered, we’d be delighted if I was pregnant, so as I said, we weren’t that bothered about avoiding it.
... and breathe. Can anyone help?
Pretty please ?

Nope. But my cycles are usually 27 days and I'm now on day 37! It's really annoying me.

Were you tracking ovulation?

ChokkaBlock · 29/04/2020 08:04

I've had this with a FRER that was negative and each time AF was just late. It happens the same time every year (took me 3 years to conceive!) so I assume that I mustn't ovulate that month. My cycles were bang on 28 days as well so really predictable.

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 08:31

@ChokkaBlock how random! I've never had this happen before though and I've been off the pill almost 2 years now. It's annoying though

ChokkaBlock · 29/04/2020 08:56

@paintfairy I wonder if it's when I'm a bit stressed at work as it was always the same time each year!

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 29/04/2020 09:01

It took me 10 days to get a bfp with my dc (who is now two, for context).

My periods have been really late since lockdown. I'm assuming that stress is delaying ovulation for me, so maybe it's the same for you?

willitwontit · 29/04/2020 09:16

Arghhh I was hoping someone will come and tell me Clearblue are unreliable.
Did you have any negatives in the 9 days prior to the BFP @AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings ?

I’ll stop hoping now, probably very late due to stress / change of lifestyle (I’m looking at you Coronavirus)

Just thought I’d jump on here in hope one of you could help, since some of us seem to be in a similar position.

I’m currently 19 days late. Just a brief history, my periods are always on time, 28 day cycle every month, and I even track ovulation, I’ve been tested and I have no PCOS, and the doctor said to keep trying, as everything is healthy. It will happen...

I’ve never missed a period and I seem to be on cycle day 45, I’ve had back aches, off and on nausea, stomach cramps, mood swings, fatigue, and even some food aversions. I’ve done 2 tests one a week after I was late and the other the following week and both came back negative. Now I believe I’m not pregnant, but my period still isn’t here and I don’t understand why I would be late, I’ve never been late Nevermind missed a period and nothing in my life has happened or changed for it to affect my periods and the gp said that to me.

He said to wait for my next period and see if it arrives and it’s just a randomly skipped one but if not to take another test. It’s nearly 2 weeks away, and it’s so frustrating not knowing what’s going on with my body! Glad I’m not the only one who’s gone through this. Hmm

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 10:05

@gonads0 it's ridiculous! I can only think it's the coronavirus? Did you ovulate on time or later than normal?

I definitely didn't ovulate on time. I usually have a 26/27 day cycle. I ovulate CD 11 or 12 but this time I think it was 17. The OPK wasn't peak though, just high. I track temps and it only went up by 0.2. Which seemed odd. But then up is up? Anyway, now it is up by more than 0.3 so in my eyes I must have ovulated? Right? I had terrible boob pain from 11 days after suspected ovulation. I also bled for 7 days from then. I always bleed in my LP. The usual cycle is I bleed from around that point up until my period. But the final day I don't bleed and my sex drive increases. But i haven't bled from last Sunday onwards. And still no period? Boobs have calmed from what they were but still are sensitive.

This has never happened to me before. The longest cycle I've ever had was 32 days last year when my dad died. Understandable with stress. I'm now on 37.

I've taken an frer this morning and an IC. And an IC yesterday. Nothing. Nothing on OPK either.

Can you completely miss periods? Just bonkers!

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 10:15

@paintfairy it’s mental is it it. Sorry I’m new to this kind of thing so I’m not very good with the acronyms just yet.

But that is very bizarre the first day of my period was 15th March and I ovulated around 27/28 I did a test and it was positive for ovulating around then. We do try as much as possible but my partner is in the army. But luckily he’s had some leave so we’ve been very very active during ovulation, before it and after it. I’ve never ever skipped a period, there’s been a few times since I started as teen, where I had a cycle a couple days longer than usual. But that’s about it.

Apparently the doctor said to me you can just skip a period and it continues as normal the following month, I’ve seen many women get BFP’s on day 60+ of their cycle. I’m presuming I’m not pregnant because of the negatives, but I know I don’t suffer with delayed periods and nothing has been stressful, nothing has changed in my life. So it’s the question has Something happened I’ve not really felt has been stressful and it was? I’d know though wouldn’t I.

It’s very confusing all of this. I don’t know where to go from now, the gp said there’s nothing they would do unless my periods become irregular or I miss periods for 2/3 months. So it’s like this waiting game where I’m tearing my hair out 😭

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 10:26

@paintfairy and just to clarify, I had all the symptoms I usually get whilst ovulating, so I know for sure I was.

And then the period just never came, followed by all them symptoms, the boobs, the tiredness, cramps, mood swings, backache, etc. I did think ooh I’m due on and having a bad month because the cramps can vary never dire though, and here I am. 19 days late. No period to be seen anywhere Confused

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 10:30

@gonads0 the only thing I can think of is the lockdown. It did stress me a little initially and obviously it was a change of routine. I'm fine with it now though and have been a while. I also have definitely been far more stressed than this! But I guess the routine change is huge. I was taking vitex though and b vits so I've stopped in case that's got anything to do with it. I'm still taking my conception ones but I've been on them a year with no problem.

I would have thought you could only skip a period if you didn't ovulate though? Else how can it just hang on there? I think hormones cause my luteal phase bleeding. Which I still had. So hormones have to have been doing something surely? It just makes no sense. I might OPK every day. See if I have just missed one and if ovulation kicks in I guess? Better order some more. 😂

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 10:39

@paintfairy I suppose you could be right, but it’s not stressed me to be fair because I’ve genuinely not changed much of my routine 😳.
Yeah, this is the thing... I definitely ovulated and yet no period? Like how is this possible. My doctor didn’t even seem phased if I’m honest with you, which is worrying but he said until my next period nothing can be done, but I’m with these symptoms, no period and a whole lot of worry.

Yeah it’s definitely doing something, yeah I’ve been taking my vitamins too... just so confusing isn’t it really? I know we aren’t doctors or anything but we know are bodies and no when something is wrong. I know for A fact something’s caused this, again I know it won’t be pregnancy but it’s more because I know I’ve never missed a period in my entire life, I’m never even late, very rarely and now I’m ovulating like normal and then no period to follow?

I’m so confused, if I’m honest! I really hope you’re right about the lockdown, but still worries me slightly. Not letting it get me too stressed but I’m soooooo impatient 😂

Mariposa123 · 29/04/2020 10:45

I did have an experience like this with my pregnancy! Cycles normally very regular 28-30 days, then AF didn’t arrive when expected. As we were on holiday I waited until we got home to test. I would’ve been over a week late when I first tested and it came up negative! Then a few days later a got very light bleeding which only last a day. I tested again and got a positive! I either ovulated late or the egg was slow to implant. Sit tight and maybe try testing again in a week if nothing happens before that

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 10:46

@gonads0 I know what you mean. I'm trying not to stress because that won't help. But what on earth? Every day I think- it'll be tomorrow. 😂 But in my mind it can only be possible to miss a period if you didn't ovulate. Not if you did. Clearly its not a precise science though. Maybe I'm wrong.

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 11:00

@Mariposa123 yeah I suppose you could be right. I’ve come to terms with it being not possible, I think mostly to save the disappointment. But in the other way, I want my periods to come back so I can start over again, because this is delaying the process more, you?

@paintfairy yes, I know exactly what you mean. Maybe we just have to be super patient and bobs your uncle it will appear and we’ll be happy. But yeah I don’t think everything is always as it seems! Well good luck with it all, and keep us updated! Hopefully they will appear again for us so we can continue to TTC hey 😊😊

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 11:10

@Mariposa123 that's interesting to know. Gives me false hope. 😂 We actually used contraception this month as I wanted a break. But if something odd happened there's a chance we could have not used it, when we should have I guess. Seems unlikely I'm pregnant. Just wish I knew one way or the other!

@gonads0 Well yes. I think it's at least helpful to have someone else than understands. It's frustrating not being able to talk to anyone about it. I guess we shall see what happens!

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 29/04/2020 13:04

@willitwontit yes - I had stark negative tests, even with frer every day until day 10. My periods are ultra regular too.

The baby was measuring perfect for gestation and was born in her due date too. So no idea what happened there.

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 14:05

@paintfairy yes it’s good to know I’m not singled out here.

Little update as I’ve been at work, Still bloated, tummy cramps nothing severe though, and I’ve checked an there was some brown discharge, when I’ve wiped. Not massive amounts but a small amount, not sure what this could mean? Am I due to have AF, or not. Never had this before... do not fancy googling it I’ll think the worst.
I know I’ve been confirmed to not have many symptoms that can cause that like PCOS, endometriosis.. etc etc.

Everything’s so confusing right now and worrying, I slyly just want my AF to come so I can just start the process again, ahhhhh Confused

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 14:52

@gonads0 I also keep getting slight brown discharge on and off. Its also kind of thick like it is in my LP? My DH has just kindly told me it smells like I'm due on. Blush Nice! So everything points to me being at the end of my cycle. Just nothing is happening. I've had minor cramps on and off the last week or so. But kind of where you start to question is it that?

Last year I had 2 pelvic scans and day 2 bloods because of my spotting. So I've got no obvious problems because they found nothing.

@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings some people they do say that happens to. I guess you are one! Wonder if the same would happen next time?

gonads0 · 29/04/2020 15:50

@paintfairy ah, yes. Well I guess it's still a waiting game for you, hopefully your AF arrives and you can try have a normal cycle again MAYBE. Still bizarrre all of this, and I wonder if our AF does come will it just be forgotten? Like will we never know why?

I've had stomach cramps off and on when I was due, but I never came on and then the stomach cramps just seem to have stayed, along with all the other symptoms following in tow after. I did have thick clear sticky discharge Sunday, only a couple times did I wipe and it was there, just like when I'm going through LP, but then today I've had spots of brown discharge when I wipe, and some times with little bits of blood.

Never really had this discharge before, not like this. As it's sticky like substances. I would usually wipe and have some blood, but not of this consistency at the end of a period.

So maybe it is our AF, kind of hoping it is in a sense so I can resume normal activity and not have all this worry, and maybe then can start the process again, but I'm so clueless, as this is all so new. I hate this waiting malarkey

paintfairy · 29/04/2020 17:27

@gonads0 I doubt we will ever know why. I just want it to hurry up! My brown discharge is on and off. Had some this morning but not now.

paintfairy · 30/04/2020 09:31

Today's update - sleep wasn't that consistent but I took my temp anyway. Its low again like after a period? So I can't work out if I just won't have AF? I'm going to OPK every afternoon in case. Boobs stil hurt though. Aaarrrggghhh.

gonads0 · 30/04/2020 10:16

@paintfairy very bizarre, especially when it's not like your cycle to be this way.

I still have all symptoms, but I'm spotting very very occasionally and very very lightly. So I'm either just 20 days late and this is the start of the AF, or well or I don't know at the moment. So frustrating!

paintfairy · 30/04/2020 10:34

@gonads0 I have a feeling this is going to rumble on for a while! I do keep getting low back ache but it's very mild. Kind of feels like something is trying to happen. I'm just not sure what. 😂 My DH just laughed this morning and said AF is in lockdown. 🙄

gonads0 · 30/04/2020 10:48

@paintfairy funny you say that, my OH said the exact same thing.
Aha, yes I'm pretty much the same like it's going through something just not quite sure what.

Only thing that's bothered me about this whole process. Is how this is completely random, I've never gone through this before, always have a very regular cycle, and I'm able to tell when I'm going through LP the lot, and all of a sudden when nothing's really changed in my life out of nowhere this has happened.

Supposed eventually when AF does arrive I will speak to my doctor if this irregular continues as it; will very much be a massive change and something I'll need to get more advice on for TTC. Such a shame but we'll get there won't we! Good luck with it all
