Morning All.

My partner and i have been TTC for 3 years with no joy :( Both had full fertility checks and clinics have deemed unexplained infertility. We are both healthy and early 30's. OH has two children and i had a termination at age 19.
I had given up hope in September as i was really struggling with my mental health and we decided that our only option now would be IVF which we are now saving for.

It occurred to me on Saturday that my period was due and didn't show up. My cycle is normally between 26-28 days and i am now on CD 31.
I've looked through previous cycles, before i stopped using apps and my last recorded cycles were 26, 28, 26, 29, 27 days.

Obviously this is now all i'm thinking about and worried about drinking coffee and working out.
Should i test or is it too early? i am so scared i'm getting my hopes up again!! :s

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Hi OP as you're a few days late now if I were you I would test. Hoping it's a BFP for you 🤞

BuffaloCauliflower · 06/04/2020 11:11

If your period is late it’s not too early. Fingers crossed for you

WreckTangle95 · 06/04/2020 11:13

Yes I would do a test, it will put your mind at ease either way. Good luck OP

AliceRidgewood · 06/04/2020 11:14

Have u got a test you can do in the morning?

AliceRidgewood · 06/04/2020 11:23

just got a BFN :( thought it might be too good to be true - very strange that AF is this late for me.

OP posts:
raspberryjamlove · 06/04/2020 13:11

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that :( let's hope af doesn't make an appearance!

AliceRidgewood · 06/04/2020 13:43

i don't feel like AF is coming - no usual cramps or anything - its very strange for me to be later than 28 days - 29 days max...
im going to go for a run to try and try to take my mind off it for now...thank you for you concern...ill update if nothing by tomorrow. x

Hi

I'm in the same boat atm(sort of...)

My history... DH and I have been TTC on and off for almost 12.5 years now and have a 14yo DD. I have had 3MCs and 6CPs altogether although one MC was before DD. Most recent MC was about 3 years ago and we're not actively TTC anymore but not using BC so not preventing iyswim

I'm currently 9 days late but testing BFNHmm

I usually would have a BFP by now and did in all previous pregnancies.

my test was a FRER and was done with FMU. I was so convinced it would have been BFP my hands were shaking doing it and nope...BFN

It's so frustrating isn't it!

I really hope you get your BFP OP Thanks

AliceRidgewood · 06/04/2020 15:21

Hi @Snoooozzze

Lovely to hear from you and thank you for sharing your story.
9 days late! that seems very strange - i understand the NHS are inundated at the moment but have you consulted your GP yet?

Do you normally test positive from the 1st day of your missed period?

I was so convinced that i would get a positive this morning. i was even thinking of ways to tell the OH sigh...i was quivering and shaking...was maybe the worst negative to date as it seemed so close.

a part of me is still hoping that my HCG wasn't high enough or too diluted with water and coffee (did my test around 10:30) but i think im kidding myself.

9 days does seem a very long time though - are you usually quite regular?

x

@AliceRidgewood it's a horrid feeling isn't it?!

My AF usually is between 29-31 days but last 3 have been 27 days exactly each month. My tracker app said I was due AF on 29th March and says 9 days late now 🙄

You sound like I was this morning! I had almost forgotten how this feels! I'm not hopeful and to be honest I had convinced myself that It was never going to happen and I was happy to stop trying but bloody hell this messes with your head doesn't it!

peachypetite · 06/04/2020 15:58

Get a frer and test first thing tomorrow morn
If it’s negative then you’ll know it’s late for other reasons eg stress

Finallyamummy · 06/04/2020 16:18

@AliceRidgewood do you know when you ovulated? It could be you ovulated later than normal, hence the overdue AF and BFN. You're not out until AF shows, definitely test tomorrow. I'll keep everything crossed for you.

AliceRidgewood · 06/04/2020 16:40

@Finallyamummy thank you so much for your message.
I went for a run and I regret to say I’m feeling a bit crampy and bloated now...I’ve got a feeling she’s on her way :(
It will be the longest cycle I’ve ever recorded tho. I’m checking my knickers every 5 mins!

I don’t know when I ovulated this month as I’ve given up tracking altogether for my mental wellbeing. Usually it would be around day 15 so typically quite on the mark but fingers crossed I ovulated late this month! X

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope you get an answer one way or the other soon so you can move on. The uncertainty is a killer.

AliceRidgewood · 07/04/2020 11:41

@Finallyamummy & @Snoooozzze still no AF yet :o

i didn't have any more tests to do this morning so haven't re-tested yet.
This is day 32 and the longest i have ever recorded was 29 days which was a one off. I'm usually between 26-28.
i'm getting the odd bit of cramping pain but not even spotting yet....
ive also noted that i have a bit of a 'funny' tummy too :/

@AliceRidgewood I'm sorry you're in such limbo. Are you able to nip to the pharmacy?

Snoooozzze · 07/04/2020 12:59

I'm leaning more towards a very late period for me so I'm not disappointed when it arrives. I'm thinking that it might be delayed as I was very unwell with a kidney infection and sepsis due to this in early March so I'm thinking maybe I didn't ovulate and I'll just have a double cycle...

DH is very excited that I may be pregnant though and insists that if I retest at the weekend it will be BFP... he has a feeling apparently HmmGrin

I hope we all get our answers soon!

AliceRidgewood · 07/04/2020 14:46

@Finallyamummy - my partner suggests to wait another few days to be sure...i get his point, nipping out to get tests every day seems a bit of a silly reason to be leaving the house at the moment when AF might be running a bit late...he said to wait until maybe Thursday/Friday and then re-test...if i get a negative i will be really concerned. its so unlike me to be this late! i still have a little hope (naievly) that its finally happened even though i've already had a negative result :(

@Snoooozzze so you are still waiting too?! so this is 10 days late? are you having any usual early pregnancy/AF symptoms at all?

Do you think i'm mad for having hope after a negative test?

OP posts:
Snoooozzze · 07/04/2020 17:06

@AliceRidgewood spotting started this PM! I'm thinking it's the start of AF but I never usually have spotting before AF. We will see!

I have my fingers crossed for you for Thursday/Friday

Finallyamummy · 09/04/2020 11:56

@AliceRidgewood how are you doing? Been thinking about you.

AliceRidgewood · 09/04/2020 16:24

@Finallyamummy @Snoooozzze
Thank you for your messages, I did come on my period yesterday...was very emotional 😭
I really had gotten my hopes up but just seems my body was playing a mean trick on me
How are you both getting on? X

OP posts:
Snoooozzze · 09/04/2020 16:37

@AliceRidgewood me too! Full AF now but it was a very unusual start. So sorry you didn't get the result you wanted.

I'm now back in the TTC mindset Hmm so I think a conversation is needed with DH to work out how we both feel. I was surprised that I was so disappointed this month! I thought I had moved past it but I suppose the want for a baby will never go away entirely...

How are you feeling today?

Finallyamummy · 10/04/2020 13:21

@AliceRidgewood I'm really sorry to hear this, I hope you can take some time to rest, eat chocolate and console yourself. It's a sort of grieving process, you're allowed to feel sad and angry. I hope next month is your month 💐
