Hi all, hope you don't mind me popping in. I was on the Jan and Feb threads before I got my bfp, but have been keeping an eye on the ttc threads to see how you're all getting on, and wondered why I didn't recognise any names any more.

Sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time, @scrumdiddly123. I hope you get an answer soonFlowers

@triedandtestedteacher fingers crossed your spotting stops. I know nothing I can say will stop you worrying, but I can give you some facts; according to 'What to Expect', at 5 weeks hcg levels are usually between 19 to 7,340. However, levels for 6 weeks are 1,080 to 56,500. Higher hcg can also indicate twins. Flowers

I have everything crossed for BFPs for everyone, until then Cake and Wine and Gin

FireflyGirl · 06/04/2020 21:18

@Trying2b It's not unheard of to get pregnant again straight away. Most of us found that our cycle after MC was longer.

Trying2b · 06/04/2020 21:46

@fireflygirl thank you, that's reassuring x

scrumdiddly123 · 06/04/2020 22:52

Hi @Trying2b, sorry you find yourself here. After my second MC in Feb I was asked to wait for one proper cycle to try again to make it easier to date. I decided to try straight away and conceived again in March but unfortunately this was another MC that I’m going through now. But medically speaking there’s no reason why you should wait. Your cycle will likely be a bit longer than normal x

scrumdiddly123 · 06/04/2020 22:54

Thank you @FireflyGirl I’m feeling better today and tests are looking a bit fainter so hoping soon they will be clear BFNs and I can move on! Undecided whether we’ll continue trying or have a break, 3 MCs in 6 months has been tough!
Congrats on your BFP!

Trying2b · 06/04/2020 23:11

@scrumdiddly123 thank you for replying and I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through it again, that's truly heartbreaking x

Whiffle77 · 07/04/2020 09:47

Hope you're ok @scrumdiddly123, at least you can start moving on like you say. You dont need to decide right now what to do, no need to put any pressure on yourself (easier said than done I know)

SunnySideUp2020 · 07/04/2020 09:50

Hello @FireflyGirl how are you doing? How far along are you now?

@sparkl cycle buddy update! It’s surge day for me i think. My app gave me a high not peak but tonight will be peak... so ovulation should be tomorrow cd15 as normal...

How about you? When do you normally ovulate?

@Annny27 glad to hear you might carry on the ttc with us!

And for vitamins (can’t remember who asked !!! 😐) i take seven seas conception and a side of fish oil (from the fish body not liver?) omega 3 pills. And some extra vitamins D too.

This month we decided to dtd every single day of fertile window. But we still arent using preseed.

I never have ewcm just lots of watery cm... not sure it’s great but i have this weird worry that preseed will take the not so fit swimmers to the egg 🤔😶

SunnySideUp2020 · 07/04/2020 09:54

It was @TerribleImagination for the vitamins 🙂

@triedandtestedteacher could you ask for a scan? Or have one privately is a place still offers them near you?
With this level of hcg i am sure they would be able to give you answers?

SunnySideUp2020 · 07/04/2020 09:57

That’s the opk for today. As much as i want it to be peak i know it isn’t 🥺

Whiffle77 · 07/04/2020 09:58

We dtd every day of fertile window last month - boy were we sick of it by the end!!! 🙈😂

SunnySideUp2020 · 07/04/2020 10:03

@whiffle77 😅😅😅

ChampooPapi · 07/04/2020 10:03

@scrumdiddly123 it's just so hard, wat your going through each time is absolutely horrific. Getting knocked back each time you've built yourself up again for conceiving, you have such great strength and are incredibly brave facing this the way you are. I guess the best thing could be not to stop trying but not to 'try' either, just take every day as it comes and not use protection but give yourself a break from opks and anything too rigorous. All the best to you 🌻💜

ChampooPapi · 07/04/2020 10:10

@Annny27 definitely keep trying ! 💪 You will catch over the next couple of months and you both want this so much, go for it!

Hell woman, this is a fine time in my opinion to conceive, staying at home is mandatory anyway and you will be in safest place the whole first trimester I would imagine, able to rest, able to die on the sofa when feeling awful and have your partner around to look after you. Only thing is obviously pretty much no midwife care or contact, but that should improve moving forward into the next few months

Whiffle77 · 07/04/2020 11:10

That's more peak than I have ever had @SunnySideUp2020 - I tracked mine of premom and never got higher than 0.6, and never showed me as peak but I obviously am ovulating!

Leok83 · 07/04/2020 13:26

Hi @FireflyGirl! How far along are you?

@Trying2b sorry you have MC too. Day 1 of MC will be day 1 of cycle alright and you can probably expect a longer cycle than normal. Hope it’s not long till you get ur next BFP.

@SunnySideUp2020 is that the femometer opk? I used those my last cycles and never got a real peak, what’s on ur pic would have been the peak on them..highest on premom was 0.82 and on femeometer was in 80s I think. This month I’m using the easy@home ones and it’s far more obvious what’s happening, the test line actually went darker than control for first time and got 200 on femometer/1.2 on premom app. So either I’m producing more LH this month or the strips are just more sensitive.

I got my peak Sunday so should have ov yesterday. We DTD every day from Friday but last night DH was worn out and couldn’t finish so don’t think we’ll take the every day approach again for so long..think 2 days max will do!!

Minster2012 · 07/04/2020 13:53

Hi ladies, can I join please?
I’m totally new to this, & you will need to explain everything to me! Had IVF beginning of year, it worked but had to have medical MC recently after finishing out at 7.5 weeks it had stopped at around 4. Literally just finished that, did test this morning to check. Negative so all good. Can’t do IVF again for months so why not focus on TTC. OH & I only every TTC prior to IVF for 7 months as my IVF was down to 10 years of chemo /immunotherapy for me so I had to be on contraception.

So might as well knuckle down & try eh??
But I’ve only ever had 1 AF in about 17yrs no idea on cycle length. Never tracked anything. Would like to try OPKs but no idea. I’ve got one pack of clear blue ovulation tests I bought previously & now a burning feeling I NEED TO USE THIS ISOLATION TO GET PREGNANT but no idea if I can 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

After miscarriage when do you ovulate for you think? When can you calculate anything from or do I just have to wait for my AF? OH & I have been DTD already as we wanted too but when do you think I might be fertile??

I have no idea. It’s screwing my head as Easter was when we were going announce to ppl 😕

FireflyGirl · 07/04/2020 15:00

Sorry to hear you've been through this too, @Minster2012. You could ovulate as normal, or late, or much later after MC, there's no set answer. Your best bet would be to use your opks from CD7, but get some cheap ones from Amazon otherwise you'll bankrupt yourself!

Thanks for asking how I'm getting on @SunnySideUp2020 and @Leok83. I'm 9+5 according to my app, and 9+1 according to the midwife's calculation. The midwife's calculation matches the dates on the viability scan I had a couple of weeks ago. It's a very strange time to be pregnant, and already many things are different with maternity care than when I was pregnant with 5yo DS. My nausea symptoms and food aversions are starting to settle, thankfully, and I have a date for my 12 week scan, but I still can't relax.

Minster2012 · 07/04/2020 15:23

Thanks for the reply @FireflyGirl & congrats!

Are there specific OPKs ppl recommend? I’ve literally never used them other than buying that one set which never got used as we started IVF that month as AF finally came back after contraception. Will do one tomorrow morning.

Is the start of MC bleeding classed as day 1? It was about 4pm that day or start counting day after? This kit says ppl tend to ovulate 11/12 days after start of a bleed does that sound right? That seems fast even for a normal cycle?

Whiffle77 · 07/04/2020 16:55

Hi @Minster2012 sorry to see you here but welcome.

Your first cycle after MC can vary hugely, you will get a lot of different responses but it will be specific for you. I counted the first day of "proper" bleeding (I had a few days lead in) as day 1. My overall cycle was a few days longer than normal, i expected it to be longer. You might ovulate early, late or not at all - I think anything goes. Opks can help but they can send you nuts as well! I use the one step ones from amazon. I seemed to ovulate around day 14.

Sparkl · 07/04/2020 20:35

@SunnySideUp2020 👋 cycle buddy! I’ve only used the clear blue opks but your photo looks pretty good to me?! I usually ovulate between day 14-16 but no clear signs so far. I’m taking a break from the opks because they’ve just confirmed what I thought based on ewcm. So I’m trying out just going by ewcm and bbt. I’m on cd14 now and nothing obvious so now of course I’m regretting not doing the opks! Saving my last few for a month where stress levels are lower and I feel more likely to get a bfp.

I like @ChampooPapi s reasoning for continuing. I’m also imagining lockdown ending and being able to tell people good news 🙈
So @Annny27 hope you are going to join us as well!

Thanks for sharing your doctors advice ELM. I asked my gp as well who said realistically it will take a few months to conceive (not what I wanted to hear ☹️) and there’s no reason not to ttc

scrumdiddly123 · 07/04/2020 21:12

Thank you for the kind words @ChampooPapi 😘

scrumdiddly123 · 07/04/2020 21:14

Thanks @Whiffle77, I don’t know how or when I’ll be able to make a decision so just going to go with it for now. I think until I get a negative test my head won’t be in the right place to decide anything. It’s a horrible state of limbo 🙁

Fizzl · 07/04/2020 21:35

Hi all 👋🏼 just quickly checking in to see how everyone is doing.

Welcome @Minster2012 and @Trying2b. Sorry you find yourselves here with us but it's a lovely group of ladies. Between us we seem to know a lot (probably from far too much googling) so always someone to offer advice.

We still haven't decided what to do for definite this month 😣. I think our lack of decisiveness makes me think we're not sold on trying as I don't really want to have any doubts or worries. I keep thinking of all the blood tests and appointments because of my blood condition and I'm not sure I want to be going to the doctors or hospital regularly. Think we're gona do a list of 'pros and cons' tonight 😂 but we need to crack on making our minds up as CD13 now and I usually ovulate around CD17.

Hope everyone's doing ok. Good to hear from @ChampooPapi and @fireflygirl too.

scrumdiddly123 · 08/04/2020 08:53

This mornings test, it’s looked like this since last Thursday which was my last blood test (risen from 29 to 33) SO fed up 😩😢 just want it to go away
