@Sparkl I’m cracking on still despite coronavirus... I totally understand why some would delay it though, as it’s such uncertain times both health wise and financially, I just really don’t want to wait. I’ll be 38 in October, so time isn't on my side. Also my close friend is a midwife and she said she wouldn’t be stopping trying if she was in my position.

Question for you all... what conception vitamins do you take, If any? When I first started TTC I was on folic acid only, then got the seven seas trying for baby and took that with omega 3 and that was the month I got pregnant. After the miscarriage though my bloating wouldn’t go down, so I started on 50mg of B6 too (as that used to help normal bloating) and I also added extra vitamin D, that I used to take before I started anyway.

Seeing as I’ve had zero joy with getting pregnant since the MC, I’m thinking of ditching the B6 and Vitamin D and just taking the seven seas and omega 3... wondering if too many vitamins is overkill / trying to hard almost?? Would be interesting to hear what you all do?

TerribleImagination · 05/04/2020 10:26

*hormonal bloating not normal!

Annny27 · 05/04/2020 10:46

Morning :)

@sparkl i read that thread too and felt a bit judgy people saying "you must be crazy to be carrying on" - it's easy for women with babies already or who have had no fertility issues to make comments like that!! We dtd today on cd7 unprotected and it's unlikely to result in pregnancy as sometimes I have ovulated early enough for cd7 to be the start of fertile week.....so I am not being 100% careful but going forward we wont be DTD unprotected untill after I know I have ovulated (I am still temping)

@terribleimagination yeah I totally understand your reasoning for carrying on :) I just take the seven seas conception tablets and that's it :)

@triedandtestedteacher let us know what your bloods say xx

@scrumdiddly123 yeah I would be wanting another scan considering your hcg has increased!

@leok83 I am glad you refound us :)

@Sparkl ya I’m still trying too but because of my age, trying for first and 37 next month. If I were younger I probably might take a break but hard to say.

@TerribleImagination I’ve been taking proceive max which is soo expensive but I did conceive the month I started taking them so wasn’t sure Aif related but kept on with it. No luck since January and ran out last week so back on folic acid only but have reordered the proceive. GP says need folic acid only though.

Whiffle77 · 05/04/2020 11:14

I wouldve kept trying if I hadn't had caught this time - we both have so far kept our jobs, and I'm in my mid 30s which isnt old but I dont have any kids yet - I dont want to delay further. there is no evidence it is harmful to the baby, they are just being super cautious. Plus it's going to be here for awhile I think, I wouldnt want to put it off for months on end. You've got to make the decision that's right for you, that isnt going to be the same decision for everyone.
@TerribleImagination I take vitamin d (as it's also meant to be helpful with your respiratory system if you get covid) and zita west vitamins. These are ridiculously expensive and probably no better than ones from asda but they made me feel like I was doing something positive...I also put my fella on the male version of them @leok83 is right that you only NEED folic acid though.
Hi @leok83!

Annny27 · 05/04/2020 11:37

My DH has just thrown a spanner in the works and said maybe we should carry on ttc. Ahhhh my head Is confused. We are 28 so youngish so could wait a month or two but then theres no guarantee things will be back to normal anytime soon so part of me thinks why wait

OP posts:
triedandtestedteacher · 05/04/2020 11:57

@Annny27 I'd just crack in with it. This could go on a long time.
I got my bloods back. They were 18500 which she says were normal and they said just to keen an eye on the spotting ( like I'm not already). 18500 seems a little high to me for 5 weeks. Worrying it's molar now and that's why I'm spotting

Whiffle77 · 05/04/2020 12:08

Its whatever you both feel comfortable with @annny27 but I would be just cracking on too. Not trying wouldve been a head f'k for me, plus it could be months or years before we are rid of it. But it's a really personal choice.
That's good news then @triedandtestedteacher do you feel any better at all or still worried? Molar is very very unlikely, I'm sure they would test you if they were worried for that. Peoples levels vary wildly in weeks anyway. Are you just waiting until your scan now or did they give you any other advice? The days are dragging for me...

Fizzl · 05/04/2020 12:16

@leok83 haha exactly! As close as I am to my friends there are still some limits on what I will talk about and the ins and outs of my cycle and ttc in any detail is certainly one of them 😂

@Sparkl I've seen a few threads now and they are awful. If you're referring to the one on the coronavirus board I saw that one this morning and I get sooo annoyed by the judgmental comments. It bugs me that most of the people commenting seem to already have children so it's a much easier decision for them. And for those that haven't started trying yet it's also different. I think for us it's much more complex as we've already had that hope that we were going to become parents in the near future and it was unexpectedly taken away. That desire to have children becomes so strong and I don't think it's as simple as 'just waiting' when we have no idea how long this virus will be around and there's a chance it might never disappear. I think the comments about not bringing children into a world where the economy has crashed is selfish are a little questionable too as many seem to be saying the economy is going to suffer for the next 10 years - who has 10 years to wait?! It might also not be as bad as everyone fears and then will we regret all this lost time? In 9 months this may all have settled and some normality may have resumed. At the minute people are understandably panicking because there are so many unknowns but I think we need to keep some perspective on this as it might not be as bad as people fear and scaremongering is not helpful. There is still very little evidence to suggest the virus is harmful in pregnancy and remember the current measures are primarily to protect the elderly and vulnerable who are most affected by this virus.

@Annny27 that's so strange because my husband also said to me yesterday he thinks we should just carry on (for all the reasons above). It really surprised me as he said he was quite relieved we hadn't caught this month as it didn't feel like the best timing. I asked him why the sudden change and he thinks we can't put our life on hold. I still have my reservations purely because I don't think getting pregnant as we're (hopefully) going into the peak of the virus is great timing for me because of me needing more appointments but as soon as things seem to have levelled back out and nhs isn't under as much strain (which hopefully should be fairly soon once things are under control) I'd feel more happy to start trying again. I don't want to regret our decision either way so it's really hard to know what to do as either way could be the 'right' or 'wrong' decision and I don't want to be in a situation where I look back and regret our choice 😣

triedandtestedteacher · 05/04/2020 12:16

@Whiffle77 I do feel a bit better but I can't shake off the fact I've definitely got more spotting with this than my mmc. With my mmc I had a bit of brown spotting when af was due for a couple of days then a tiny bit the week after. Then it dried up and I had nothing unusual until I found out there was no heartbeat a few weeks later. With this I've had a lot more. They just said to ring them back on Tuesday if I'm still spotting and they might repeat the bloods

Sparkl · 05/04/2020 12:40

Ok you’re all making me feel better! I just don’t see how we can go from cutting down sugar, not drinking, doing bbt, using preseed, raising fucking hips after sex, doing smep, taking supplements, using opks to then using contraception. It is a headfuck.
I’m getting annoyed now! It’s easy for those with no experience of loss, not in the middle of ttc to get on their high horses.

I’m mid thirties too so not too worried about age but it’s on my mind. And age gap is getting bigger and bigger.

@TerribleImagination I’m taking a few supplements based on random reading about short LP online, so not at all on medical advice! High dose vit C, vit D, vit B complex, folic acid and cod liver oil which I stop after ovulation because it has vit A in it. Took them consistently in Feb and had 12 day LP, took them very inconsistently in March and had 8 day so I’m back taking them again to see what happens. Obviously might be absolutely no connection. I’m keeping on with bbt just to see whether to keep taking them in the long run.

@triedandtestedteacher hopefully spotting stops and you can start to relax Flowers

Leok83 · 05/04/2020 12:45

@triedandtestedteacher that’s good that everything seems normal. I know it’s so easy to worry but if they think the levels are normal they hopefully are..levels vary so widely. When I was pregnant I had joined a group and a good few of the ladies on there had spotting in the early days..they were all told it was normal form what I can see and not to worry and it didn’t end in MC for them thankfully!

@Annny27 I agree if it’s something you want I say go for it as long as it won’t make you anxious. Who knows how long this could go on for ..and I’m sure there will probably be plenty of unplanned babies with the lockdown so I feel we deserve to keep trying when we’ve been trying hard all along to conceive! I do feel like if successful there might be a bit of judgement with the timing but I really am not too bothered about that. I’d just be delighted to get a BFP again!

@Whiffle77 👋 Hi!! Where in cycle are you at the mo?

ELM7 · 05/04/2020 15:18

Hi Ladies hope you don’t mind me joining you I was on the Jan, Feb, Mar group although hiding in the background more recently. But like some of you have said I just can’t keep up on April.

It’s very much what feels right for you on your TTC journey but thought I would let you know I spoke to a gynaecologist consultant (as had been referred by my Dr due to having 2 uteruses which was discovered when I had my miscarriage) and his response on TTC during this pandemic was “Go for it” and he told me that more than once. Like I said it’s everyone’s choice as to what they feel is best for them but just wanted to share a medical opinion rather than the guilt opinions on some of the boards which say we are selfish for continuing to try.

So we are sticking with this and hoping (again) that this month will be our month. xx

TerribleImagination · 05/04/2020 15:20

Good to hear what you’re all doing with vitamins... I might keep up with the extra Vitamin D too, especially as we can’t be outside just now!

Leok83 · 05/04/2020 15:50

Hi @ELM7! That’s good to hear what ur gynaecologist has said, thank you for sharing!
How do your 2 uteruses work? I’ve heard a few times of ladies having it actually so I’m guessing not too unusual? Best of luck with this month!

Whiffle77 · 05/04/2020 17:16

I actually got a bfp last week @leok83 I just haven't quite properly left this thread yet!
Hi @elm7 hope you are ok, that's very reassuring from your Dr thank you!

Leok83 · 05/04/2020 18:29

Oh that’s great news @Whiffle77!! Sorry I must have missed that..congratulations😊!!

scrumdiddly123 · 05/04/2020 19:34

@triedandtestedteacher good news that your levels are normal, fingers crossed all will be well for you x

triedandtestedteacher · 05/04/2020 19:52

Thanks everybody. @Whiffle77 how are you feeling? Do you have much in the way of symptoms ?

Whiffle77 · 05/04/2020 19:58

Thanks @Leok83
Not really @triedandtestedteacher but I didnt last time...I am exhausted and sleeping a lot, and hungry all the time. I have had quite a few mornings where i wake up feeling hungover! And emotional which isnt helping my anxiety. How are you feeling?

triedandtestedteacher · 05/04/2020 20:08

Similar actually. Little bit nauseated but it comes and goes. Mostly just very tired

Annny27 · 06/04/2020 09:26

Morning girls :)

Cd8 today and not tracking this cycle but probs 9 days ish away from ovulation

@elm7 that's really interesting that your gynaecologist said to keep trying. Thanks for sharing!

@fizzl yeah I think the initial thought was to stop altogether but now I am coming round to the idea of trying. We will see how things go!

@triedandtestedteacher the worry never stops does it 💗 I think your bloods seems really promissing - will they scan you?

@scrumdiddly123 is there a next step for you at the EPU?

@Leok83 oh yes I definitley see some people judging the timing but who cares 🙌🙌 that little baby will be loved none the less

OP posts:
scrumdiddly123 · 06/04/2020 09:47

Morning @Annny27, EPU said because my levels are so low they’re confident that it will resolve itself and just to take a pregnancy test next week. I’m not overly happy about this though as I’m still getting the same faint line on a cheapie that’s I’ve had since last week and I’ve stopped bleeding completely now. I’m almost certain that it isn’t going to be as straight forward as they’re hoping 😒 I’ll probably ring them today and ask they repeat my bloods x

Peanutbuttermummy · 06/04/2020 13:32

Afternoon ladies...how's everyone? hope you all had a good weekend
Just reading the messages now, haven’t caught up with all of them yet.. life has become very busy suddenly with childcare, wfh, housework and numerous video calls! But that’s keeping me away from constantly checking the news which can be a bit depressing...
@ELM7, thanks for sharing your doctors advice. We have tentatively decided to keep trying...CD8 today, so about a week before we actively Start trying... it's a difficult situation and I have been in two minds about it really... but i don't want to stop as I am 38 and don't have time to lose really!
@Sparkl I started reading that thread too but came out of it soon as most of the comments were negative & discouraging. We should note that most of the people on the CV forum are usually the ones who worry and stress more about it. There is a whole section of people who don’t go on that forum and who have a more positive outlook. So I wouldn’t really go by what people there are saying...rather make the decision based on individual circumstances.
@triedandtestedteacher sorry you are going through this. Hopefully spotting will stop. I have heard so many stories of women bleeding constantly throughout the 1st trimester and everything turns out okay. Hopefully that’s what’s happening with you too. hcg levels do change differently for different women. May be you are further along that you think you are? A scan will be good to alleviate your worries. So ask for it if possible
@TerribleImagination regarding vitamins, I am taking pregnancy multivitamins (proceive max). Doctors recommend mainly folic acid for conception, but don't think taking others will do any harm. They are good for overall health. Vitamin D is key too, so if you want to reduce the number of vitamins, I'd say keep taking folic acid and vitamin D
@Annny27 good to know that you are thinking of continuing TTC. We are all here to support each other in the TTC journey through these tough times

Trying2b · 06/04/2020 20:10

Hello! I'm new to the 'ttc after miscarriage' group, absolutely gutted to be here (no offence!). I'm after some advice please! I miscarried at only 5/6 weeks, so really early. As I've been lucky enough to avoid any medical intervention, can I just assume the first day of my miscarriage was day 1 of my new cycle and carry on TTC as normal? My OPKs are already a few days out what they normally would be. Am I kidding myself thinking that I can get back what I lost so quickly? Xx
