@MochaTea It's cervical positioning. We have tried SMEP method which many people say work for them and some cycles just try to DTD every 3 days after around CD10 (only cos I roughly know my O after so many cycles). Are you still quite early on in TTC?

Kiza · 01/05/2020 18:13

Good news ladies, from may 11th fertility treatments can resume if individual clinics can meet guidelines for some elements of social distancing. Brilliant news for us all ☺️

orangeloo · 01/05/2020 19:21

@Kiza yes this is brilliant news for many. I hope you can get in soon!

Annny27 · 01/05/2020 21:59

I saw on the news :D @kiza that's good news! Hope that you have had a good Beltane day!

@MochaTea yes if you don't find the temping stressful then continue with it within the hour :D

@orangeloo were you due to have some tests completed?

orangeloo · 02/05/2020 08:13

@Annny27 I was due to have my tubes tested but now I know about my progesterone I may hold off on that and save the money. and try a few months on progesterone supplements first. Waiting for the clinic to come back to me.

Annny27 · 03/05/2020 07:51

@orangeloo thats a good idea :)

How's everyone doing? :D

Etonmess20 · 03/05/2020 08:24

Hi Ladies,

Do you mind if I join you?
I'm 27, TTC #1 for around 18 months. I am currently CD14 on my first month of clomid. All of mine & DPs tests have come back normal so hoping the clomid makes the difference

Annny27 · 04/05/2020 10:25

Welcome @Etonmess20 :) hopefully clomid does the trick! Have you ovulated this cycle yet? I am 28 and ttc #1 for around 11 months (with a few months of pregnancy ending in mc and a month or two off from ttc in between)

Etonmess20 · 04/05/2020 10:30

Hi @Annny27 I got a peak on my OPK yesterday (I normally ovulate monthly anyway) so fingers crossed. But annoyingly I also had to go to urgent care yesterday as I have a kidney infection & am now on (safe) antibiotics. So would hope it won't affect my chances this month but who knows.
Have you been to see Dr yet or are you still trying naturally? Sorry about your mc ☹️ x

Annny27 · 04/05/2020 11:24

@Etonmess20 so nearly tww for you then:D GP said they wouldn't see us until its 2 years....she basically said as we have conceived before they know everythinga working so just to give a go for the time being. I was a bit annoyed and if we still haven't conceived again in a few months I will go back to the GP

Etonmess20 · 04/05/2020 11:30

@Annny27 yeah, nearly back to the waiting game for me! I imagine that is really annoying for you, I would definitely go back in a few months if you are still TTC. Maybe you'll get a different GP who is a bit more empathetic & will be willing to refer you.
We've never even had a sniff of a positive so we've been having investigations over the past few months, everything's come back fine so far so I was given 4 cycles of clomid with a view to having a tube scan with the dye (can't remember the name of it!) if it doesn't help. The one positive about the lockdown is there's so much less pressure on TTC after we get home from work!

lizzie198 · 04/05/2020 11:44

Hi,

Can I join please as I'm back on the TTC bus.

We were trying just over a year ago for about 3 months but then I lost 2 grandparents in quite quick succession and then my Mother in law got diagnosed with terminal cancer and sadly lost her battle in February this year so we've had a bit of a break.

It's our first, I'm just 32 and 1dpo I think (not been testing) We only DTD once yesterday morning as we only really decided this weekend to get back on the bus and then I checked my dates and realised yesterday would be ovulation day.

We've set a 12 month timescale as my hubby is 35 and if no luck will go down the adoption route 😊 xx

Annny27 · 05/05/2020 09:36

morning ladies! :D cd8 here

@etonmess20 oh I know the test you mean. Think @kiza had that test a few months ago.

@lizzie198 welcome and good luck :) do you use anything to track ovulation?

@kiza are you in the tww now?

@orangeloo how are you doing - I think you were just behind me in your tww

orangeloo · 05/05/2020 09:51

Welcome @etonmess & @lizzie198 sorry to hear of your losses.

@Annny27 yes I'm onto cycle 17 now it's cd3 for me. I start progesterone this month so obviously really hoping this is the missing link for me and will finally give us our BFP. I'm Enjoying this week before the OPK dtd rollercoaster starts again haha.

Annny27 · 05/05/2020 09:54

@orangeloo fingers crossed!!! Was that prescribed by your GP?

lizzie198 · 05/05/2020 09:58

@Anny27 I do have Ovulation tests from
When we were last trying so will be using them from next month.

My shifts at work mean I'm up at all different times so don't think temping would work.

Ive also got Clue and Flo which I've kept up even during the break 😊

lizzie198 · 05/05/2020 10:00

@orangeloo thank you for welcoming me, fingers crossed that helps you get your bfp xx

orangeloo · 05/05/2020 10:15

@Annny27 no, I contacted a fertility clinic and got a free phone consultation with them. (Due to covid)The doc agreed I could try progesterone due to my spotting and after my negative proov (progesterone tests). I actually felt quite angry at gp and gynae last week. I went in asking my spotting to be looked into two years ago and they couldn't find the answer so said it's fine and won't stop me conceiving. Well something is!? and it could well be this. I would just advise anyone if you think something fertility wise is wrong, push and look for an answer. You have to be your own health advocate. Especially low progesterone and luteal phase defect as the nhs don't acknowledge this as a problem.

Kiza · 05/05/2020 14:08

@orangeloo pleased to hear you were listened to by the private consultant and keen to hear the outcome of your progesterone for the next few cycles to see if it reduces your spotting. Is it cream or a pill?

@Etonmess20 welcome to the group :). Yes I had the hsg dye test in Feb, I'm surprised they didn't suggest that before prescribing the Clomid. Did they say you weren't ovulating and that's why they suggested Clomid?

Welcome @lizzie198 and sorry to hear about your loss, 1 loss is hard enough but to have 3 so close to one another is really awful.

Yes @Annny27 at the beginning or TWW, had right boob pain since 1dpo which has done the usual of making me focus on every twinge 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm trying to say to myself that it's positive as boob pain is a sign of progesterone which I need for a thick uterine lining! The things we say to ourselves! 😆

Etonmess20 · 05/05/2020 14:35

Hi @Kiza thank you for the welcome!
From blood tests & scans I've had done everything seems to suggest I am ovulating regularly so 4 months of clomid before the HSG. I am just worried that if my tube(s) are blocked it's pointless taking the clomid. But there we go, I suppose at least I have something to try during lockdown. We've been trying for around 18 months now & never had a positive so it is hard not to get disheartened!
I feel the pain with symptom spotting too, as it's my first TWW while on clomid I'm sure there'll be a host of new symptoms to convince myself are significant!

orangeloo · 05/05/2020 14:49

Thanks @Kiza. It's actually suppositories. I tried an OTC cream a few months back and it did nothing to change my spotting at all. I have since read on then that the amount of progesterone in the otc creams are so low it's not enough to make a difference fertility wise. But I have also read some ppl have had success with them. I will let you know how I get on.

Mamainmaking · 05/05/2020 17:13

11dpo today period due in 3 days..hope I get good news this time, already too nervous that I can't focus on my work either😨

Etonmess20 · 05/05/2020 18:03

@Mamainmaking good luck....fingers crossed for you! Are you holding off until af is late to test?

Kiza · 05/05/2020 19:18

@Etonmess20 it's so odd how different consultants across the nhs give differing advice. Ours said that because I'm ovulating there's no point in Clomid as it's for women or don't ovulate frequently but at that time I was super keen to try it as wanted to try everything!

@orangeloo oh that makes sense, out of curiosity at what stage in your cycle do you start using them? Would it be the follicular phase only?

@Mamainmaking are you symptom spotting or trying to stay sane? 😁

orangeloo · 05/05/2020 19:25

@Kiza it's progesterone so you use them in the luteal phase. I've been told to start when I get my positive LH surge.
