How expensive were they @orangeloo and is it a urine test?

Kiza · 28/04/2020 20:44

@orangeloo thanks for sharing that's really interesting and I'm glad you've managed to find some answers.
I've just looked back over my charts and over the last year there's been about 5 cycles where I start to spot around 10dpo or 12dpo so I think I'm borderline. However would be interested in joining the thread you're on and am curious to know the name of the tests?
@Annny27 sorry about AF, I imagine the break from being super conscious this cycle has been beneficial

@whatsthecraic91 hope you had a lovely chat with your bestie the car park 😄

orangeloo · 28/04/2020 21:11

@Annny27 exactly. I did feel upset that my body isn't doing exactly what it should on it's own. But I've got to look at the positives I've found something that should be fixable. I am ovulating and have regular cycles I just need a bit of help. so I need to think of it as I'm one step closer to a BFP. 7 tests were 40 dollars so not mega. Yes it's urine, it tests for a metabolite of progesterone in your urine.

@Kiza ah yeah you do sound borderline that's good though and acupuncture has helped you In The past so may well do again. they are called Proov proovtest.com
I will put the link to the spotting thread.

orangeloo · 28/04/2020 21:14

@Kiza and any other serial spotters heres the link to a pre AF spotting thread has some good info and experience on it

Do you get spotting before AF / period? Come and talk to me here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1372140-Do-you-get-spotting-before-AF-period-Come-and-talk-to-me-here

Mamainmaking · 28/04/2020 21:52

Hey loveliest, how's it going for you..the tww is killing meGrin

Mamainmaking · 28/04/2020 21:53

Damn autocorrect made loveliest from lovelies Hmm

Annny27 · 29/04/2020 12:29

First day of AF is always a bit of a depression pit haha. But on cd2 now and ready for the next cycle!!!! Just bought the it starts with an egg book thanks @orangeloo for the recommendation

@kiza same I am borderline, this month I spotted 3 days before period, last month was 1 day before and before the miscarriage it was only 1! Think my body is just taking some time to readjust after the miscarriage.

@whatsthecraic91 are you still on cloud 9? :D

@Mamainmaking 2nd day of period for me so onwards to the next fertile week haha.how are you?

@XjustagirlX did you make your decision on the options yet? Xx

orangeloo · 29/04/2020 13:04

@Annny27 I almost like AF after you've got over the depression of it hitting. It's a fresh start and almost relaxing as there's nothing you can do at that moment in time. Enjoy the book, take your time with it as it's a lot to take it. I'm still not even half way 😥😂

whatsthecraic91 · 29/04/2020 13:07

@Annny27 absolutely floating!!! I feel 100% today too just the sore boobs so I might even go for a wee cycle tonight 😇

Annny27 · 30/04/2020 11:05

@orangeloo haha I am 2 steps away from throwing out everything plastic that I own 🤣🤣 you were right haha!

@whatsthecraic91 have you called the midwife to book your first appointment yet?

I won't lie ladies I am feeling depressed more than I am feeling hopeful these days :S just feel like I am waiting for a bfp and my life is just on hold. Sounds so dramatic but its genuinely very draining

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 11:28

@Annny27 I self referred yesterday to the hospital I want to go to as my local isn't the best. They phoned me about 10mins after I emailed my form over. She said something about it will be 8 weeks before I'm called. I'm really confused as I thought I would be seen before I'm 12 weeks. I wish I had asked more questions but she really caught me off guard by calling. It said on the form they would inform my GP for me so 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm worrying about it a bit now 😥

I totally went through that, and it is so mentally and physically draining. Please don't lose hope though 🙏🏼

Annny27 · 30/04/2020 11:31

@whatsthecraic91 I saw my midwife at 9 weeks but obviously that was precovid. They might do a phone call booking in appointment instead :)

orangeloo · 30/04/2020 12:51

@Annny27 I think that's another reason to take what you can from that book but not obsess. As that's not good for you and you'll never be able to completely eliminate these things from your system but cut it out where you can.

Ah I think all of us get like that from time to time. Just remember there's no reason it won't happen for you and you never know what the next cycle will bring.

Lozzlepop · 30/04/2020 14:07

Hi all,

Happy Thursday ☺️

@Kiza I spoke too soon, its been raining since yesterday but looks like it might be brightening up again, so annoying we get such terrible weather up here.

@whatsthecraic91 aw I am so so chuffed for you ❤️how did your friend react? If you are worried at all I would call them back, theres no harm in checking what the procedures are and how and when you should be seen.

@Anny27 sorry to hear AF arrived, its nice to have a relaxed approach sometimes.

@orangeloo interesting I never had spotting pre AF until my last few cycles?!

@XjustagirlX how are you doing lovely?

A friend of a friend just announced their pregnancy yesterday, she had an ectopic pregnancy that required surgery last year (she didn't know she was pregnant) and I am so pleased it has worked out for them so soon ❤️Hope everyone is well and staying safe- can't believe we have been in the the whole month of April. Tomorrow is hopefully our 1 year wedding countdown 🤞🏻

MrsTwentyEight · 30/04/2020 14:19

@whatsthecraic91 just here to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so so so happy for you! Good luck with everything lovely day :)

MrsTwentyEight · 30/04/2020 14:22

lovely lady**

Oh and a bit about me: 28, DH is 32.
TTC #1 , cycle 2 -ish....cycle 1 was January but didn't try Feb --> April. Lost around 9kg and hoping my body is more ready for it this time! Was going to wait till June to hit my weight loss target but I thought why wait...so unlikely it will happen first time!
AF currently happening so diet on hold. CD 3.
Excited to be part of the MN crew again :)

Annny27 · 30/04/2020 14:37

@orangeloo totally will just try to make simple life changes and not obsess :D

@mrstwentyeight welcome :) I am also 28! This is our 5th month ttc after a miscarriage in November but we have been trying for 11 months total including the pregnancy. Let's hope this month is the one!

@Lozzlepop thank goodness you are a 2021 bride and not a 2020 bride!

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 14:46

@Lozzlepop I actually did call them a couple of hours ago and the lady couldn't have been nicer! So I am happier now I know what's happening! Aww that's lovely it's happened for her again so soon! I know April has been the longest month ever!

@Annny27 she said they will bring me in for all the physical things but then they will do all the history questions etc over the phone cos of covid.

@MrsTwentyEight hi stranger!! Thank you so much, I wondered where you had got too! Great work on the weight loss! This group is amazing you are in great hands here! I don't ever want to leave, the support has been incredible ☺️

MrsTwentyEight · 30/04/2020 14:49

@whatsthecraic91 hang around! I'm sure we will have plenty of questions for you ;) I'm so happy for you, you've genuinely been on such an incredible journey but you've stayed so strong and positive....:)

@Anny27 Thank you!! Ahh I'm so sorry to hear about your MC :( Yes absolutely, let this month be the month.

We could all do with some good news in our lives especially with the way the world is...!

Kiza · 30/04/2020 14:50

@Annny27 oh I totally get that feeling and went through a dark few months around cycle 8-10, I then got better and had another dip around cycle 13 and can honestly say hypnotherapy has done wonders for my optimism. She has really enabled me to reframe my thinking and self talk.

@Lozzlepop think rain has hit the whole country! Summer is only round the corner though

@MrsTwentyEight welcome to the group :)
@whatsthecraic91 does that mean your scan will be around week 14? Have they said if your DP can attend or will they only know closer to the time?

It's Beltane tomorrow (I'm pagan) so am going to do a fertility spell as I'm also in my fertile window so going to call on everything I have for this cycle! 😁

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 15:40

@MrsTwentyEight that is so lovely you've made me well up 😆😂 I will definitely be lurking and reading all that's going on ☺️

@Annny27 I was the same as @Kiza I had real dark times too, especially when I hit the 6 month mark and again at the year mark. Try not to put your life on hold because it will happen for you 😘

@Kiza my booking and scan will be on the same day around 11/12 weeks at the minute I will have to go alone which is quite scary! Hopefully it changes by then. But I am going to book a private scan for when I am 8 weeks as DP is allowed to come so it will be nice for him to be with me the first time we see them 🙂 that sounds really interesting!! Hopefully it works for you 🤞🏼

MochaTea · 01/05/2020 08:42

Morning everyone, just a quick question on temping.

I have femometer, but I struggle because I wake up at different times every day. Do you all wake up at the same time so easier to temp?
I am thinking about temping again so the app can have a better understanding of what's going on...so just wondering what everyone does?

thanks ;)

Kiza · 01/05/2020 08:46

@MochaTea I tried temping but like you I wake up at different times and also go to the loo a few times in the early hours so I don't anymore. I'm lucky that opks work great for me and I also track my CM and CP so always know when I ovulate.

Ladies today is Beltane (Pagan day for fertility) and coincidently I got a peak OPK today with lots of ewcm again. Feeling positive this cycle!

Annny27 · 01/05/2020 09:11

Morning ladies :) cd4 here! Thank you for your pick me up words yesterday. I think its because we are approaching our due date that I am feeling a bit down but I am going to look at this positively 🥰

@whatsthecraic91 that's nice that you will get a private scan. If we get our bfp soon I think I will do the same as don't want my DH to miss out

@kiza ah thats very exciting that its the peak fertility day on Beltane! Don't know much about paganism but that's really cool that everything is aligning for you 💗🤞🤞

@mochatea I used to temp with femometer waking up within the same hour e.g. 6-7am and it worked well. But it stresses me out too much and like @kiza I know through cm and opks when I am most fertile so I have decided to stop as it stresses me and I get bad sleep waiting to temp.

@MrsTwentyEight do you use ovulation sticks?

MochaTea · 01/05/2020 09:38

Thanks @Kiza and @Annny27 I think I'll do the same. It does stress me having to wake at the exact minute, but good to know within the same hour works ok too, I'll see if I can keep to that.

I've always used opks as well and they do work but this last pregnancy (which ended in mms) we did dtd a few days before I'd be normally on my peak, so I am going to try and start sooner.

I also just wondering what CP means? It's the only one I am not familiar with...
