Hi @michette and @ChampooPapi I think we are cycle buddies. I'm on CD8 according to Flo. Could anyone give me advice on OPK's I've never used them before and this is my first proper cycle since MC. AF came 11 days late last cycle so I've no idea what this one will be like. I've attached a photo of today's test just hoping someone could enlighten me as is there a line because I'll be ovulating soon or is there always a line and I just have to do one every day to see when it gets darker?
Thank you xx

Hey all! Just a quick update from me...
AF showed up today 4 days early! On CD31 but my cycles are usually 34 days ish. We had a LOT of sexy time this month so I don't understand how it didn't happen haha. Oh well - onto cycle 3 I go! Expecting ovulation around 16th March so will be testing/expecting AF again at the end of the month.

@Anny27 I can see something on the first photo although it looks a bit like the one I had last month and then AF came... but mine was more like 15dpo. Hopefully as yours is only 11dpo you might get a stronger line in a couple of days?! Fingers crossed for you!! xxxx

Hope everyone else is well! xxx

Leok83 · 28/02/2020 18:34

@Anny27 it does look like there’s something so hopefully it’s not an evap!!

@Ljm0101 I’m also CD8! Haven’t started opk yet tho..will prob start tomorrow. That lines not a positive yet but it’s getting there..ideally you should test twice a day until you get your peak..you should use the scoring system on the premom app..makes it much easier to compare over the course of the days.

@MilsCookie sorry AF got you. Hopefully this March cycle will be the lucky one!

Fizzl · 28/02/2020 19:26

Hi @Anny27 I'm pretty sure I can see a shadow of a line too! Fingers crossed it keeps developing for you!

@MilsCookie AF has also arrived for me today too! Last month I had a shorter 27 day cycle but this month it was 30 so more normal for me. Feels quite ironic that we will be cycle buddies for my first month back trying as you were the first person I remember connecting with on here when we were going through our loss at the same time. Hopefully this month brings us both better luck! And remember even when everything is timed to perfection etc etc you still only have 25% (or something like that!) chance each month so don't get disheartened!

Now AF has arrived I'm officially on countdown to ovulation now 😬 scary times! My husband just asked me what day we will properly start trying from again. I've suggested 11th March to start covering all bases and he just grinned and said 'I'll see you there!' 😂

DisneyMummySince2010 · 28/02/2020 20:06

I can see something @Anny27 so excited for you!

I’ve had a bit of brown cm this afternoon, only when I wipe but I don’t think it’s a good sign 😢 I have a FRER to take in the morning but if AF arrives in the night I’ll have to save it for next month!!

EssJayyCee · 29/02/2020 07:22

That's crazy @Anny27! I know someone who didn't know they were pregnant until 4 weeks before she was due! She just thought she had stomach upset the whole time!

EssJayyCee · 29/02/2020 07:23

@DisneyMummySince2010 Could it just be late implantation bleeding? Be hopeful!! Xx

EssJayyCee · 29/02/2020 07:27

Can I ask some opinions?

My boobs seem to be getting quite alot bigger and a bit pointier but they aren't hurting like they did before my MC. I have been getting the odd pain and my nipples have been sensitive since ovulation but nothing particularly agonising.

Do boobs grow between O and AF as well as when pregnant? I've never noticed before..

I don't know if anyone else does BBT but my temps are really high at the moment too! 37.07 this morning which I have only ever got close to that high when I was pregnant..

I'm trying to be hopeful and look on the brighter side but at the same time I don't know if I am just symptom spotting to make myself feel better about all of the negative tests.

ChampooPapi · 29/02/2020 09:00

@Ljm0101 hey we are cycle buddies, cd9 here today. Just started doing ovulation tests myself this month so I'm also a newbie. My understanding is to test twice a day pretty much straight after your period is finishes on the first cycle of using them in case you ovulate early.

Looks like one of mine from yesterday so assume I'm either gearing up for an early ish ovulation too like yourself or it's just a surge and then we will get lighter ones untill next week when they'll get darker again.

I've dtd yesterday and Thursday, will do it today and tomorrow as well, I'm sure it's too early but not taking any chance this month!

My cycle is back to 28 days pretty much after 5 months of trying post miscarriage, so everything crossed this month for luck 🌈

Ljm0101 · 29/02/2020 10:46

Thank you @Leok83 that's reassuring to know.
@ChampooPapi keeping everything crossed for this cycle. At least we are not alone, it's so nice to have people going through the same thing at the same time.
Are you meant to do the tests at the same time each day or doesn't it matter? I'll do one today then I'll start 2 from tomorrow. I bought a cheap pack off amazing with about 25 in it. Haha xx

ChampooPapi · 29/02/2020 11:19

@Ljm0101 I am doing one in the morning and one in the evening, though only started the evening ones yesterday when I got that stronger line. But definitely the same time is consistent, but I imagine it's hardly an exact science considering how many women who are 'certain' when they ovulate, only to discover at dating scans that they probably conceived much later or earlier in their cycle.

They obviously work at detecting the surges though and probably do hit the nail on the head more often then not so worth doing them for a cycle . After five months I just thought I'd see if they even worked with me and I think they are giving me reassure I'm ovulating even if that is not precisely garentee'd.

I would absolutely love a 2020 baby, this is the last month I guess pretty much for that to happen so I am really struggling not to feel very scared, excited, worried, confused, everything really!

ChampooPapi · 29/02/2020 11:21

Oh and screw you Aunt Flow!

(This is for you @MilsCookie) ♥️

scrumdiddly123 · 29/02/2020 12:02

Morning,
Just wondering what people’s experiences are of using opks in first cycle following miscarriage? I’m cd13 (with cd1 being start of MC bleed) and got a faint line on an opk this morning. No symptoms of ov yet and after my first cycle I didn’t get a positive opk for nearly 4 weeks. Going to test everyday from now I think but no idea how accurate it will be as I know MC can affect things like this!

EssJayyCee · 29/02/2020 12:07

Hi @scrumdiddly123 I started using opks at cd19 after my MC. Which was around when my bbt temps started to neutralise a bit. I took one every day until I started getting darker lines then I did them twice a day. I ovulated (I think) on cd36.

I think everyone is different in regards to if and when they ovulate after a MC.

Anny27 · 29/02/2020 12:09

So looks like my line is slightly darker today but not enough for me to think it's a positive start because line didnt show up till towards 7 minutes (it says anything after 10 is invalid so still within frame)

So sorry that AF arrived @MilsCookie :( it took me 4 cycles to conceive the first time and now on cycle 2. Hope it is quick for you!

@ChampooPapi looks like deffo gearing up for ovulation:D

@scrumdiddly123 my first cycle was almost 2 weeks longer but I didnt use opks

Anny27 · 29/02/2020 12:10

@EssJayyCee my boobs always get fuller between ovulation and AF!

Fizzl · 29/02/2020 13:12

There is definitely a line there @Anny27 keeping everything crossed for you!

DisneyMummySince2010 · 29/02/2020 13:20

@Anny27 that looks so promising!!

My AF has started today, so I guess it was a evap line or didn’t stick- who knows!

MilsCookie · 29/02/2020 13:24

Thank you @ChampooPapi - you always cheer me up haha!

@Anny27 your line is definitely stronger today - YAAYYYYY!! I'm SO happy for you lovely. Congratulations!! Keeping everything crossed that this one is a healthy sticky bean!!

@Fizzl hey cycle buddy! I love this so much - you were also one of the first people I connected with after going through what we did. Maybe it's meant to be for us both this month! Are you going to be doing anything to track ovulation this month or just seeing how it goes in your fertile window? So true what you said... you can do everything "right" but it ends up being a game of chance at the end of the day! Trying not to be too disheartened and remember that it will happen one day... I am not going to be on MN much so if you want to whatsapp just send me a DM! I am in a group with some of the ladies from the TTC after mc Jan group which you'd be more than welcome to join as well if you wanted to. Sending you lots of luck and positive vibes for your first official month trying again! xxxxxxxxxx Smile

MilsCookie · 29/02/2020 14:37

@EssJayyCee I just read your message - the month I got my BFP (but miscarried) the lead up to AF my boobs didn't at all like they usually did in my luteal phase. That was what made me think I could be pregnant, and I was! Fingers crossed it's the same for you!! xx

Hayleylou89 · 29/02/2020 14:48

Hi - we recently lost our baby girl at 22 wks at the start of the month and decided to ttc as soon as possible as its what we want more than anything in the world and its a time when ur most fertile... i know its possible to conceive again before ur first period arrives which is due in the next week or 2 (as i dnt know how my cycles will return to normal) but do these (top two) cheap pg test show a v v faint second line to any of you or am i seeing things i want to see? X x

MilsCookie · 29/02/2020 14:54

Hi @Hayleylou89 I think I remember your name from the June 2020 group? I am so, so sorry to hear of your loss at 22 weeks. I can't begin to imagine how traumatic that must have been. Hope you're coping okay and have a good support network? I was pregnant at the same time as you but had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan (baby measured 10 weeks). I can definitely see faint lines on the top two tests... have you got a FRER or CB you can test with? Fingers crossed for you hun xxxx

Leok83 · 29/02/2020 15:06

@Anny27 I’d def see that as a positive!! It’s a really obvious line..hard to see if it has colour but I think it does? Is it pinker in real life? I hope so and congrats if so😊!!

Hayleylou89 · 29/02/2020 15:08

@milscookie

Hey yeah thats me chick :( we are devastated my waters broke too early so far i dont know why but need to have tests i think its due to cervical treatment iv had done and it weakened my cervix as i think the baby was perfect 😢 i was due 7/6/20 and had her on 7/02/20 but my body seems to have gone back to normal quickely but i just dont know when iv ovulated although iv had all the signs of ovulating I dont know if they are pregnancy loss signs but me and my husband have been dtd as an when hoping we get our living baby this year still 💔. so sad u also had a misscarriage!
