Hi all, I feel so low. Got a bfp a few days ago and then negative yesterday morning. Tested again with a frer last night and the line was there and very slightly darker. this morning another faint line but tonight after a 5 hours hold, it was bfn again.

This happened in May 2019, then July, then September. Could have possibly had one in November too but I refused to test. Now again. What is wrong with me? What could be causing this? Has anyone had recurrent cps and gone on to have a successful preganacy?

My age is against me. I'm 41 been trying for 21 months now. I have high FSH levels but very regular but light periods.

Every chemical i have had really really strong symptoms. Yesterday and for 3 days before that my boobs were huge, I felt sick and had an awful taste in my mouth. Today its all gone.

Nor bleeding yet but its just a matter of time. I've been referred to a gynaecologist and my appointment is on 26th Feb but I'm fairly sure that they will just say its my age and do nothing.

God, this is so horrible

@Whyhaveidonethis I'm sorry that your dr can't seem to be of more help to you. It could well be that you are simply skipping a cycle or rather having a very long cycle. I imagine because that because of your age, your Dr may feel this could be appropriate. I think given your circumstances you need to decide if you want to seek out a specialist in fertility or continue the course you are on with your GP. 21 months is a long time ttc, and time is against us all! X

@calimommy it's definitely not a long cycle. I passed the gestational sac, which weirdly looked bigger than I would expect but with a small amount of spotting and nothing else.

My cycles are always 26 days approximately and I temp and use opks so I know I'm ovulating. I'm waiting for my follow up with the recurrent miscarriage clinic now that they have passed me over to them, but as I'm not under them yet I don't know how to contact them etc.

@ceebee21 that's so quick!! I hope it goes well.

@Whyhaveidonethis ok that's good to know. I'm glad you are going to be seen by specialists. Sorry it's hard to keep up on these threads once they get longer.
If it was so early, to be a chemical, then there really shouldn't have been anything at all to see, except for clots of blood from the wall of the uterus. (I'm a nurse but I've also had miscarriages so personal experience, unfortunately.) You mentioned that you had some bit of spotting, it's possible that that was in fact your period, just a very light one. Even if you are normally regular, a shift in hormones, such as from a chemical pregnancy, will have an affect on your cycle. But as obviously I'm only chatting to you on here, I can't know what is going on. Hopefully the team you work with can shed more light. X

Hiya @calimommy it's very strange, it was definitely the gestational sac, the midwife I handed it over to agreed too. My DP and I checked it out thoroughly before we took it in too and it was identical to images on the Internet as to a 5/6 week loss. It was definitely not like a chemical pregnancy loss which I've had 3 of and all of them have just been pretty much a normal period, a few days late and a bit heavy.

It all makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

@Whyhaveidonethis that is very unusual indeed! X

VenusStarr · 06/03/2020 07:41

How are you getting on @Whyhaveidonethis? X

Whyhaveidonethis · 06/03/2020 08:09

Hiya @VenusStarr thanks for thinking of me. I'm feeling better in myself at the moment. I think I actually might have had flu on top of the mmc.

I'm still spotting dark brown blood with small clots, nothing like a period really, but as long as I'm not in pain I'm going to just wait and see.

Glad you're feeling a bit better and not in pain @Whyhaveidonethis hopefully it won't impact too much on your cycle x

Whyhaveidonethis · 12/03/2020 12:10

I just got a call from the hospital, they want to see me ASAP. I have an appointment tomorrow at 1020. No idea why, I have to go to the EPAC on antenatal ward.

I'm glad you don't have too long to wait, but it's a bit worrying at the same time @Whyhaveidonethis it would only be a couple of weeks since you went to the hospital, is that too soon for test results? Thinking of you, let us know how you get on x

Whyhaveidonethis · 12/03/2020 14:45

It has been 12 days since I took the "products of conception" in for them to test and 2 weeks since my appointment. I also had blood tests 2 weeks ago. I already received a follow up appointment for June in the post so I am thinking that maybe they think it's an incomplete miscarriage, which given I've not actually had a proper bleed is probably likely. I've actually started bleeding again this morning but not sure if it's the loss or just more spotting.

Thanks all. Just got back from the hospital. The sample that they tested showed pregnancy tissue but not 100% of it and so they needed to scan me for retained products of conception. All clear, which I expected as I have been bleeding heavily since yesterday. Finally it it over and I can move onto the next cycle.

VenusStarr · 13/03/2020 12:43

I'm pleased they've been thorough and you've got the all clear now @Whyhaveidonethis x

calimommy · 13/03/2020 14:25

@Whyhaveidonethis good that your body finally
Kicked in by it's self 👍 wishing luck for the next cycle x

Whyhaveidonethis · 13/03/2020 17:12

Thank you all for your support. I'm so pleased it is over

@Whyhaveidonethis I've been reading your posts and I'm so relieved for you that your scan was clear and you're expecting to be back in a normal cycle. How traumatic the whole thing must have been Flowers

I know what you mean in your post about worrying that it will keep happening, but equally you don't want to stop trying. I'm on cycle day 21 now and am trying to mentally prepare myself for another chemical pregnancy. I've had 2 in a row, so unfortunately I don't see a reason why I wouldn't have another. There's still a tiny pinprick of hope though which is why I keep trying. I'm 35 at the end of the year, so I think I'd feel more stressed if we had a month off ttc.

I had my bloods done today, so perhaps they will show something. I'm lucky that my GP is very kind and helpful. I'm sorry yours hasn't been.

Whyhaveidonethis · 14/03/2020 08:13

Thanks @CurbsideProphet, I'm so glad you have a good GP, I feel so relieved that this cycle is over and I can finally move on, but I can imagine how I'm going to feel at CD 21. I really hope that this is your month.

At least now I'm finally being taken seriously and am booked in with the recurrent miscarriage clinic.
