4th chemical since May

Hi all, I feel so low. Got a bfp a few days ago and then negative yesterday morning. Tested again with a frer last night and the line was there and very slightly darker. this morning another faint line but tonight after a 5 hours hold, it was bfn again.

This happened in May 2019, then July, then September. Could have possibly had one in November too but I refused to test. Now again. What is wrong with me? What could be causing this? Has anyone had recurrent cps and gone on to have a successful preganacy?

My age is against me. I'm 41 been trying for 21 months now. I have high FSH levels but very regular but light periods.

Every chemical i have had really really strong symptoms. Yesterday and for 3 days before that my boobs were huge, I felt sick and had an awful taste in my mouth. Today its all gone.

Nor bleeding yet but its just a matter of time. I've been referred to a gynaecologist and my appointment is on 26th Feb but I'm fairly sure that they will just say its my age and do nothing.

God, this is so horrible

@VenusStarr I've been go ogling like mad to see if that's possible but I can't see anything. I just feel so in limbo. It's weird

It is weird @Whyhaveidonethis. Stupid question, but have you done a hpt test again?

Whyhaveidonethis · 23/02/2020 13:31

I bought a Tesco one yesterday-- BFN. I just feel so bloody low about the whole thing. I can't seem to get any answers.

VenusStarr · 23/02/2020 14:46

I'm so sorry @Whyhaveidonethis I often feel that we're left to navigate through this shit on our own, hcp don't seem to know much more than us sadly (the ones I've dealt with anyway) 💜 I'm here to listen xx

Whyhaveidonethis · 23/02/2020 19:47

Thanks @VenusStarr i know it's probably just a case of wait for nature to take its course but 😭 it just feels so cruel to be in limbo like this.

I had 3 chemical pregnancies.

I asked my GP to test my thyroid and test for APS.

Turns out I was borderline hypothyroid and borderline APS.

I took levothryoxine, baby aspirin, low dose steroid (prednisone) and the 4rd pregnancy stayed. Toddler currently at nursery....

VenusStarr · 24/02/2020 08:59

Hope you're OK @Whyhaveidonethis x

I'm pleased you had treatment that helped @user1470147116

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/02/2020 09:20

So many people seem to have thyroid related fertility issues. I'm glad it's becoming more known on here!

Hope you're feeling ok @Whyhaveidonethis

VenusStarr · 24/02/2020 09:38

It's only through my own research and seeing threads on here that I've made the link about my thyroid @Livingmagicallyagain. My GP couldn't understand why I was worried about it. He was reluctant to do a repeat prescription, especially as my consultant didn't give any guidance about dose if I do conceive, as I think it needs to increase. Hoping the recurrent miscarriage clinic will write a plan to send to my GP.

ceebee21 · 24/02/2020 09:42

@Livingmagicallyagain Hi, Would you mind sending me a copy of the plan?

My Thyroid is all over the place, despite being on Levothyroxine... it's so rubbish and the GP's don't really seem to concerned either!!

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/02/2020 09:59

Hi, I’ll send the plan on later today to anyone who has requested it!

VenusStarr · 24/02/2020 10:13

Thank you! @Livingmagicallyagain

Whyhaveidonethis · 24/02/2020 11:20

@Livingmagicallyagain thanks for asking. Still no bleeding. I've got stomach ache that's off and on so still waiting. Can't wait to see the gynaecologist on Wed, although I'm a bit concerned at how hopeful I am about it as in all likelihood they won't have any idea what the problem is.

@VenusStarr @ceebee21 @Whyhaveidonethis

You all have the plans now!

I also went completely GF - so many people said it helps thyroid issues. It seems to have worked!

ceebee21 · 24/02/2020 11:37

@Livingmagicallyagain

Thanks so much

Yes, I have gone completely gluten free for almost two months.. do you have any auto immune problems?

x

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/02/2020 12:56

I don't as far as I know. TPOs always within healthy range.

I just got lots of great advice on the Health Unlocked Thyroid forum and lots of people said to go GF. I had only mild hypothyroidism (4.5 TSH) which has corrected within optimal levels since taking 50mg levo.

CurbsideProphet · 24/02/2020 21:58

I'm so sorry you're still in limbo @Whyhaveidonethis I hope you feel the appointment starts you on a path to finding out what might be happening.
I'm asking my GP for a blood test to check my thyroid function when I see her this week, as I want to cross some things off my list.

Whyhaveidonethis · 25/02/2020 04:19

Thanks @CurbsideProphet I hope the GP agrees to the blood test for you. Let us know how you get on

Hope all appointments going well - @Whyhaveidonethis yours was/is today? Fingers crossed for you!

Whyhaveidonethis · 26/02/2020 13:48

Hiya, I saw the gynaecologist this morning. My GP had referred me to the wrong clinic!! He was pretty understanding and has ordered a scan and lots more blood tests. He also did an internal. He is going to book me into the recurrent miscarriage clinic and when I finally pass this pregnancy (still not bleeding} he wants me to take any clots into the hospital for examination.

He did say that it is likely age related though which I expected. But he's going to check everything else before saying that it is

Livingmagicallyagain · 26/02/2020 13:53

So glad you were taken seriously and things are moving @Whyhaveidonethis

Did you get my PM? That all helped me, I am sure.

ceebee21 · 26/02/2020 14:22

I managed to get a referral to the recurrent miscarriage clinic from my GP today.

I mentioned about my auto immune issues and feel like it could all be related, so she agreed to refer.

Anyone know how long it is likely to take to get the appointment?!

thanks

Whyhaveidonethis · 26/02/2020 15:01

@ceebee21 I don't know about the recurrent miscarriage clinic but my appointment took 6 months. At least the ball is rolling now though. Funnily enough the doctor this morning mentioned auto immune issues and is testing me for them.

@Livingmagicallyagain I did thank you.... I sent a PM back, didn't you get it? I will go have a look and check I actually pushed send.

On another note I appear to have food poisoning. I feel so ill. D&V. I wondered if it might kick off bleeding but not yet.

Good news about the rmc @ceebee21, my first appointment was 4 months wait, but I got a cancellation so only waited a few weeks on the end. However, they lost my blood test results so had to have them redone 🤔
We had our follow up yesterday and my bloods are all fine but we've got a lovely consultant who spent nearly an hour with us yesterday answering all our questions, so it's helpful from that perspective. We won't see anyone from there again until my next pregnancy but they're offering early scans. He's putting together a comprehensive list of everything we talked about, including guidance for my GP to keep me on levothyroxine until pregnancy and then they'll have me in to review my dose.

@Whyhaveidonethis I'm sorry you're unwell and still waiting for af 😔 horrible to be in limbo

I've been crampy all week since the biopsy and think af has started today, 3 days early. Hoping I may just be able to squeeze in the next biopsy before we go on holiday - it's cutting it fine and depends on my body gearing up to ovulate on cd10🤞 - it has for the last few months.

ceebee21 · 27/02/2020 11:41

@VenusStarr That's good to know, I will definitely ring and try to get a cancellation if they allow it, and obviously depending on how long the initial wait is!

Are they going to do anything else for you when you fall again, such as Progesterone etc?
