42 and ttc

Hi ladies
I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. I've been ttc for a year and a half now. I have a 24 day cycle that's like clockwork. This month I'm 4 days late and have none of the usual PMS symptoms that I normally get. I tested today but its negative. Has this evey happened you and you were pregnant as I'm thinking maybe I tested to early! I'd appreciate anyones advice. It's really messing with my head!!

Hi if you are 4 days late you should get a positive result if you are pregnant, I got my positive 9dpo 4 days before missed period, I am 39 and 25 weeks pregnant so don't give up hope. Are you using opks?

Hi Ele38 no not using opks but have done in the past. I have mild cramp but nothing like I normally get and it's only now and again its very odd. I'll test again in a few days. Congrats on your pregnancy x

Just saying hi. I'm 42 and at the very early stages of TTC baby number 3. DC2 is only a toddler and I fell pregnant easily then, but I am more anxious this time. We'll see. Are you in the over 40s TTC thread? x

Hi FutureMum, I know what you mean I'm the same. I have a 20 year old son and wasnt thinking if having more till I met my now husband 5 years ago. I had a miscarriage 3 years ago but I went on the pill after as we were getting married. Been trying for a year and a half now and like you I'm so anxious but you have to stay positive. I don't know what's going on with me this month but still bo show or sign of my period coming!! No I'm not in that thread but I'll go join now thank you and best of luck x

Hope you do eventually get your wanted bfp.l tested a few days after expected af and got a bfn.waited a few more days and still got a bfn.af still hasn't come yet.l have period like cramps but the witch is still not showing.l on the other hand don't have the heart to see another bfn so haven't poas again .my ttc has been so long l am just a confused person.

Will definitely be watching the space to see it goes for you.fx you get good news soon

Im like that so afraid to test again as I dont want to see a bfn but I'm 6 days late now and this has never happened!! I get cramps on and off but not as strong as af cramps it's so confusing. I will test in a few days dont know where I'm getting the will power from ha. How late are you and have you been late before? I'll have everything crossed for you to x

@Lisah76 hope you've had a great day.l have never been this late,just 3-4days tops.this time l am abt 2weeks late.l just can't get myself to test after the bfn l got when l was so hopeful.any symptoms?when do you wish to test again?

@brokenheart013 I know how you feel you get your hopes up and then see that bfn it's horrible but 2 weeks late is a long time if I was you I'd test again and if its not postive go to your doctor. Every month I always get pms symptoms but nothing this month. I had cramps but they were different and had a heavy feeling at the bottom of my stomach. I felt queasy this morning but dont know if it's all in my head now lol. I'm going to do a test in the morning the wait is killing me. Have you any symptoms??

Iv only just turned 40 last week, TTC no 5 with new partner and it doesn't seem to be happening for us 4 miscarriages last year, it's such a stressful time for the ladies I think more so than men, eagerly waiting with crossed fingers for you to see if you have good news though 🥰, good luck for testing tomorrow xxx

@Elles1980 hi and thanks so much. I had a miscarriage 3 years ago and I was devastated. But to go through 4 in a year that's really tough and yes so stressful. Did you have your progesterone levels checked as someone told me that low level can be a cause of miscarriage just something to look into. I also work in a nursery shop and see so many women our ages having babies so its possible just try stay postive and keep trying I'll have everything crossed that you it will happen soon xx

@Elles1980 sorry for what you have been through.l had a mmc in 2017 at 12 weeks and it was so heartbreaking.l haven't had a bfp since then .hope this year brings you better luck

Symptoms wise,l have mild cramps and also feeling this heaviness in my lower stomach.

Hi ladies well I test today when I got up and it's another BFN!! Dont know what's going on it's so horrible seeing that bfn. Just have to wait it out now and see what happens. Thanks for the messages xx

Sending you big hugs.l can only imagine how horrible it feels.that's what is stopping me from testing again.seeing that test stark white .af should just come on time so that it won't make us hopeful.still rooting for you @Lisah76

@brokenheart013 yeah I wish if af was going to come it just would and stopping messing with our heads. It's just so strange for me to be this late I've only ever maybe been 1 day out but generally I'm bang on time so I just dont know!!

Are you testing again today lovely?lf l manage to get my hands on an hpt,l will definitely be trying to poas tomorrow

Aww I feel sorry for you ladies it's such a hard time. I'm just trying to focus on getting fitter, taking all of the vitamins and hitting the gym, IV just finished af so will probably be next week then the absolutely dreaded 2ww 😩! I'm starting counselling today specifically for recurrent and traumatic losses, I'm totally dreading it because today I feel quite strong and positive and I'm afraid it'll leave me feeling sad again 😒! Anyhoo sorry for the rant, I'm off to get ready, sending hugs xxx

Hi @Elles1980 thanks for the message. It is hard but we have to keep going you can rant to us anytime x I'm delighted I found this site as you dont feel like your alone if you get me. I'm 9 days late tomorrow and still no sign of af it's really starting to get to me. I do be disappointed when af arrives but I try stay postive and say on to the next month. But when you've never been late and keep getting BFN it's horrible. Hope the counselling went well today xx

Hi @brokenheart013 same here another bfn this morning and no sign of af it's so frustrating! I've no symptoms so deffo think I'm out now 😥

I honestly think this is a nightmare lol.cant af just come already and we can start a new cycle .maybe one of us might just be lucky and get a surprise bfp((hopeful thinking))

I know @brokenheart013 I was thinking the same. At least if af just came we could move on to our next cycle. It's the not knowing is killing me! And I just cant test again it's so disappointing seeing that bfn. Going to my doc next week just to get checked out see if she has any answers. Keep me posted how you get on I have everything crossed for you xx

@Lisah76 ,l just noticed that the tests l've been taking expired on the 7th of this month.do you think that they could give me false results .lm really trying to hold onto any last hope hahahaha.absolutely confused now
