Hey ladies,

Posted on a few threads but think it's about the time I might know what I'm sorta on about! Ha!

Looking for some TTC Buddies I can what's app :-)

A bit about me, I'm 28.. 29 in April.. my husband is a year younger than me. We've been married just over a year and together for 9 years this July.

I came off the pill Cerelle 24th November after years of the pill then implant and then the pill again. Never had periods on any. Just a few withdrawals when I missed a few pills.

Anyway! Been actively TTC since my withdrawal bleed 25-29th November.

Finally after a December of no Flo she's arrived today. So finally I can accurately start trying to track on Ovia! GrinGrin

What's your story?

Fingers crossed @MrsTwentySeven for you and everyone here! Hi to those just joined...I'm on CD 5 today ...getting those opks prepped!

MrsTwentySeven · 21/01/2020 10:01

@professorastrocat thanks and good luck to you too! Yes opks are the best 👏🏾

Hatepickinganame · 21/01/2020 11:02

Maybe a dumb question but how do opks work? Im thinking next month i may try to figure out exactly when i ovulate, just for my own knowledge really. Its confusing cause a lot of info says around cd14, my app says cd12, i have a 26 day cycle i think.

notetaker · 21/01/2020 11:12

@Hatepickinganame OPKs measure the amount of lutenising hormone (LH) present in your urine. LH is what tells your body that it's time to release an egg so a positive OPK lets you know that you will be ovulating soon. I think it's slightly different for everyone (of course...) but I think generally ovulation occurs about 24-36 hours after your peak OPK.
I ovulated late in my last two cycles, which I might have missed without the OPKs.

@MrsTwentySeven I'm CD16 too, had a strong positive on the OPK this morning so I guess I know what I'll be doing tonight...

notetaker · 21/01/2020 11:13

@Hatepickinganame Also, there are no stupid questions Smile

MrsTwentySeven · 21/01/2020 11:48

@notetaker yess ! How long are your cycles normally ? Mine are 30-31 usually now! I'm going to test again this evening as I want to catch my LH surge as soon as it happens 🙈

MimiArm · 21/01/2020 15:41

Thanks @MrsTwentySeven!

This is a really daft question, if yesterday was first day of static smiley face on CB digital OPK, does that mean that today/tomorrow should be ovulation day?

DTD last night and will also do it again tonight - feel absolutely rotten today with a horrible cold/flu but needs must! (And hoping that cold/flu doesn't have any impact on things)

MrsTwentySeven · 21/01/2020 15:46

@MimiArm they say that 12-36 hours after static smiley is ovulation but then once the egg is released, it’s also around for another 24 hours - I would definitely DTD tonight too if you can.

The other annoying part is what time of day you tested , because once the flashing smileys start, some people test twice a day so they can work out exactly when the static one comes on and then calculate another 12–>36 hours {+24 hours}

Hope I haven’t confused you more

MrsTwentySeven · 21/01/2020 15:51

@MimiArm the irony! I just tested in the evening and it’s a static whereas it was a flashing this morning!
Ok guess I’ll DTD tomorrow and the day after to cover ourselves! 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

Hatepickinganame · 21/01/2020 17:02

Thanks @notetaker i may try it out next month just to see. Although another ov question, over the weekend i defo had ewcm but now its more lotiony? Cpuld i really have ovulated already?

MimiArm · 21/01/2020 17:07

@MrsTwentySeven How ironic for sure! :-)

I tested in the morning time so guess I will just assume ovulation most likely has taken place today at some point so will deffo DTD this evening again. Boobs are still killing me today and have some mild tummy cramps.

Looks like we are ovulation twins this month then :-)

georgetoast · 21/01/2020 19:57

can anybody help?

Long story but I came of nexaplon (implant) 09/01/2020, and have been taking OPK every day since. All negative, only one faint line since.

On Sunday (19th), I believe I had egg white mucus, nipple soreness and cramps in lower tummy. I was quite weepy that day.

Monday 20th, I had cramps again, nipple soreness, nausea, hot flashes and was quite gasy. I noticed my CM was like school glue-ish and had litte white balls in it.

Today, still feeling sick, cramps all day! CM was very wet and slippery this morning, thought I had wet myself. Jst been to the loo and now its on my underwear sticky?

Have I ovulated? but missed opk peak time to test?

Havent had a period in years due to nexaplon.

Can anyone help me suss it out?

littletandme · 21/01/2020 20:38

@georgetoast until you have a period after having the implant out, it's pretty impossible to say if you've ovulated unfortunately as you don't know what cycle day you are etc, although it is possible you might have missed the surge on the OPKs.

I'm in a similar boat having had my implant removed on 16th Jan although I had quite regular bleeds whilst on it however I can't be sure if I will ovulate when my app says I will, I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping DTD every other day will cover all bases.

MrsTwentySeven · 22/01/2020 07:09

Not sure Georgetoast sorry :/ I would try the digital OPKs (that’s all I rely on ...)

MrsTwentySeven · 22/01/2020 07:10

@MimiArm yes we are cycle twins! And so is @notetaker I believe 😀

Hatepickinganame · 22/01/2020 07:29

@georgetoast wish i could help but im in a similar boat with not really knowing if/when i ovulate! My app says today is the day but i have zero signs at all haha was having ewcm over the weekend but thats gone so assuming ive either ovulated early or my pcos has decided to wind me up this month 😂😂

georgetoast · 22/01/2020 07:42

@Hatepickinganame

It’s so frustrating isn’t it! As you don’t know what your body is doing!? Fingers crossed you have ovulated! Have you done the deed ;) 😂

georgetoast · 22/01/2020 07:43

@MrsTwentySeven which digital ones do you use?

georgetoast · 22/01/2020 07:44

@littletandme fingers crossed for you! I’m baby dancing as much as possible and hoping I can join the bus! Sending baby dust to you!

Have you had a bleed since coming off the implant?

If you ever wanna take about stuff just message me! I find not many people in the same boat as me, as in terms of TTC and implants!

Hatepickinganame · 22/01/2020 07:52

@georgetoast yeah every day over weekend, so im definitely covered if i ovulated early 😂 just have no clue cause last month my app predicted 26th dec as ov date and i had the signs around then (as in ewcm) and my period arrived a day later than the app predicted, so i updated it to a 26 day cycle thinking it would probably be bang on again... now i dont know. I did download another app that says cd14 for ov whereas flo says cd12, which is today. Who knows 😂 cm has turned very creamy again which im not sure but think happens after ov?? Anyone know?? Think im just gonna dtd whenever we fancy and stop putting so much pressure on myself. Ive never had any issues falling pregnant so not sure why i think i will now 🙄🙄

MrsTwentySeven · 22/01/2020 08:11

@georgetoast I use the clear blue advanced digital ones! Though I started DTD before the flashing smileys this month just to cover ourselves

@hatepickinganame I think not thinking about it at all is better! I wish I could :/ Even on holiday I’m out with here with OV sticks haha

My 2WW commences tomorrow 😱

littletandme · 22/01/2020 08:40

@georgetoast I had a bleed 4-11th Jan (longest period in a very long time and typical whilst we were away for DHs birthday) but didn't have the implant removed till the week after, so nothing yet since removal but I wouldn't expect it till at least the end of this month.

My first implant I had years back I didn't bleed for 2 years on it which was great but then I started having quite long cycles, sometimes up to 2 months between bleeds. When I got this implant in after having my LO I went straight back to long gaps between bleeds 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I really have no idea what it's done to my cycles!

@Hatepickinganame

Yeah I think it turns creamy after OV. But I’m just guessing in the hopes I’m the same!

I don’t even know what my cycle is as I have not had a period for years, bloody implant!!

Fingers crossed Star

georgetoast · 22/01/2020 09:53

@littletandme fingers crossed they settle quickly! And you go back to a norma cycle!

I’m in a strange situation as I want a period so I know how long my cycle is but then I don’t as I want the baby! Hahaha
