Hi everyone, just making this thread as it seems a few of us will be trying SMEP to TTC! Adding these lovely ladies in from another thread but I hope everyone feels free to join! All welcome :)

@Devgirl31 @fayy123 @NCON @MrsKJW19

Some stats about me:

TTC #1
27 years old, DH is 28 years old
Missed miscarriage in October 2019 at 7+2 weeks
Still in that cycle (no AF yet)
Long and irregular cycles, some anovulatory
Suspected low progesterone/hypothyroidism (I think this based on symptoms, not diagnosed yet!)

Hope we can all provide support for each other in this crazy TTC journey.

Feel free to introduce yourselves :)

@danielasummer hey! I've been spending pretty much zero time on mumsnet or on my phone the last ten days. Popping back to say hello to all and sending love and lashings of baby dust for December newborns.

Cd23 so one week until af is due, I better be pregnant this month or ill be very annoyed! Only 5th month since the miscarriage but I'm getting bored now of this trying to conceive 'lark'

It's pretty much the least larky thing in the entire world!

ChampooPapi · 14/03/2020 10:00

I can't believe we have over 800 posts now. I did a bit more of a smep approach this month and did opk's for the first time. Kept forgetting to do the dam things 😂 but something to try and pass the time for a week, won't bother next month as my sieve brain can't seem to remember to do them, especially in the morning!

I may do the no sex approach next month and just take a break of no dice in March.

Anyone else get a bfp while I was away @danielasummer?

Littlepeas2 · 14/03/2020 22:46

Hey @ChampooPapi not long to wait for you now! My ovulation date is due tomorrow (well according to one app and the other says Monday!) I haven’t managed to DTD tonight as DH is out we did the last 2 nights so I’m hoping the little swimmers stick around 🤣

ChampooPapi · 15/03/2020 11:45

Hi @Littlepeas2, hope your having a relaxing Sunday. So you'll be testing the end of March? Are you going to hold out until your late this month? I am definitely going to, I don't need to see any more negative pregnancy tests ever again!

And get doing that deed today 🌈💜

Littlepeas2 · 16/03/2020 08:56

Hey @ChampooPapi it was a lovely Sunday, thank you! Now ready to face the week ahead! Yes I’m going to wait until the end of March. Only thing is, my DG wasn’t well last night so I had her in bed with me so no deed was done! I’m hoping that Fridays swimmers will stick around for a few days!! Might try tonight just incase the egg is still hanging about. God this TTC is tedious isn’t it!

How are you? When are you due AF? Are you in TWW? X

danielasummer · 16/03/2020 11:54

@ChampooPapi hello, how are you doing? I know I always say, try not to symptom spot but...... anything unusual going on? Really really wishing and hoping this month is your month. I'm starting to get twitchy now that we're getting into 5 month post miscarriage territory. Like why hasn't it happened yet?! Are you using the OPK strips or advanced? I got so sick of the strips, doing 3 a day, that I switched to the CB Digital Duo Hormone advanced OPKs last cycle and I really liked it. Hope there won't be a 'next cycle' for you though! I don't recall anyone else getting a BFP, I keep coming on here and checking though! Generally though, like you, trying to spend less time on here as I get so caught up in TTC that it's all I can think about. Steering clear of MN and other TTC websites has really helped. Glad you've found some peace in that too xx

So strangely, I had some watery/EWCM today but I'm only on CD19.. not due to ovulate until at least CD25! This cycle I have cut out sugar completely (no pasta or bread boooo!) and tried, where possible, to cut out gluten. I do have suspected PCOS so I wonder if this means I will ovulate earlier? What do you think?

It's my birthday today so if it means I do ovulate early... well, massive birthday bonus to me - I've wished for shorter cycles for years!! (God, even writing this is worrying me that I'm jinxing it and will be waiting for Ov for another week...)

Happy birthday @danielasummer ! Hope you've had a lovely day and are being spoilt, you deserve it 💜

Sorry I've only just responded, your a March baby too. Both my daughter are March babies and my partner

All the love and hugs to you, and all the baby dust obviously! Get dtd tonight and go for it the next week 🎉

danielasummer · 18/03/2020 06:35

@ChampooPapi thank you! Somewhat taken over by the ol’ cv but we’re all in the together. I didn’t ovulate unfortunately - false alarm! But I’m sure it won’t be long now. Lots of sex in the meantime as hubby is off work.

How are you doing? Not long until af if due for you, if I remember rightly? Xx

Shazzzzz · 22/03/2020 20:15

@danielasummer better late than never but Happy belated birthday 🥳

AF arrived today for me! Exactly 4 weeks and 2 days after MC 🥺 x

danielasummer · 24/03/2020 14:15

@Shazzzzz thank you!

First AF after miscarriage is very challenging.. a real mix of emotions. I hope it's not too long and painful for you. I know it's hard, but try to see it as a new cycle. x

A little update!!: No refined sugars (only coming from fruit and a small piece of dark chocolate twice a week), no refined carbs (bread, pasta, white rice), eating lean meats (previously vegetarian), oily fish 2x a week, organic fruit and veg (no longer though due to bloody corona!), generally eating suuuuper healthy..... and I have ovulated 4 days early this cycle!! This is bloody unheard of! So my cycle will be 35 days instead of 39-50 :) yaaaay.

How are you all doing? Has CV affected TTC for any of you? I've been advised to wait until it's all over but DH and I have decided we're not waiting. Curious to see what you all think x

ChampooPapi · 24/03/2020 16:28

@danielasummer that is the best news! I think your body is ready now, it's going to happen over the next few months, surely!

Update from me too, got my positive on Saturday, i really hope no one minds me uploading a photo, in this current climate i don't want to upset anyone any more, I mean this world has turned upside down!.

Month 5, so took my body a while to regulate itself, and caught after first proper heavy period and 28 day cycle

SMEP - feel free to join! :)
ChampooPapi · 24/03/2020 16:29

My cycles were like 33 days and then irregular so the body just needed time in my case, we just have to keep the faith it sticks

danielasummer · 24/03/2020 16:32

@ChampooPapi OH MY GOODNESS, I can't tell you how much this has brightened up my week! Congratulations lovely!! Such fantastic news. I'm smiling ear to ear for you x I've been wondering how you are as I knew AF was due a little while back. How are you feeling? x

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 24/03/2020 16:39

@danielasummer it means a lot to me you've responded and with such love and kindness. You have shown an unbelievable strength and compassion to everyone here, you are my leader, the thread starter, my life raft here who floated over on the storm of miscarriage towards me way back in October.

I will check in, I know I will start feeling very sick soon, I always do, but I will always check here, and all I can say really @danielasummer is just keep trucking and it will happen 💜

danielasummer · 24/03/2020 16:45

@ChampooPapi bless you, I can say the same for you, helping me through my dark days and making me feel less alone.

Please do check in here!! This is part of your journey, you are part of our journey, I would love to know how you're doing and how baby is. Hoping, praying, wishing and have everything crossed for you.

Just so chuffed for you, genuinely this is the best news :)

Littlepeas2 · 24/03/2020 19:36

@ChampooPapi you absolutely deserve that. I am so happy for you. In these crazy times it is so nice to hear news like this!! Congratulations! Please keep us updated!!

@danielasummer so pleased you ovulated earlier!! Amazing. It sounds like your body is well on it’s way to getting baby ready 😍

Shazzzzz · 24/03/2020 20:23

@ChampooPapi BIG congratulations!! So happy for you!! 🥰

@danielasummer we have decided to wait until all this has some what blown over 😢 Im a chief accountant and my job is so stressful at the moment with how the corona virus is affecting all businesses, i would hate to put all that stress on a little human inside me 🥺 x

danielasummer · 25/03/2020 18:31

@ChampooPapi thinking about you on my walk this evening and have a warm little feeling in my heart. You so deserve this. x

@Littlepeas2 thank you! Me too :) - hopefully it will keep shortening to a normal length. Let's hope it's baby ready soon! How are you doing? x

@Shazzzzz I'm really sorry to hear that - this virus has a lot to bloody answer for. It is probably for the best though, as stress is no good, especially when you deal with it day in day out, and hopefully this will blow over sooner than we think and you'll be ready in all ways to make a baby. Sending you a big hug x

Thank you @Littlepeas2 for your congratulations, it's so nice to log on and see some positive vibes 💜

@Shazzzzz ♥️

I can understand why you have decided to put ttc on hold, it is a very unsettling time and with your workload which I'm sure in just crazy currently it does make sense. But definitely don't start taking any contraceptive pills or what have you! You need to keep yourself regular and hormone free for when you are ready

ChampooPapi · 26/03/2020 06:48

@danielasummer you give me a warm feeling, your the best, you have been absolutely fantastic on here. Where are you at now in your cycle ? I have lost track of absolutely everything! ♥️♥️

danielasummer · 26/03/2020 07:00

@ChampooPapi you’ve given me so much hope! After all of the heartache and heartbreak we went through last year, you’ve created a little life, and I hope to do the same - feel positive I can now after your lovely news. So so happy for you 😊 how did you tell you OH? Have you told the girls yet?

I’m 5/6dpo (different on both apps!) trying to remain calm this cycle and to be honest with so much going on, I’m actually not obsessing over it. Xx

Pixielou16 · 26/03/2020 08:12

@ChampooPapi congratulations! Amazing news!

@danielasummer we had a lengthy chat about coronavirus last night and have decided to carry on TTC as there hasn't been any definitive proof that it's harmful. We're both lucky enough to be able to work from home too so it's nice to spend some quality time together. It's a very uncertain time though.

Update from my side- I'm still testing with OPK, no positives yet. CD 14 but not holding out much hope this month. Had a scan which confirmed a cyst on my right ovary which will be monitored (Corona dependent) and I have a feeling I ovulated on the left last month so I don't think it'll happen this month. Trying to keep busy with DIY! Anyone else doing the same?

Shazzzzz · 26/03/2020 09:02

@danielasummer @ChampooPapi Im not taking anything we are just going to be careful, if it happens spontaneously then i would be absolutely over the moon!! but at the moment we are just trying to hold off until things are a little more normal 😅

We have my grandparents living with us at the mo and they are in the room next door so think that will cause some delays 🤣

HE88 · 26/03/2020 17:33

@ChampooPapi massive congratulations what lovely news 😁 in such an uncertain time for us all.

What are everyone's thoughts on still ttc? I'm on my 1st period after my miscarriage and I am pretty keen to start trying but just not sure if it's the best thing to do or not!
