Hello ladies, just looking for anyone's experiences trying to conceive after the depo injection. I'm currently on my ninth month since my last injection. My periods return six months ago, but no BFP yet.

I seem to be experiencing spotting a fair bit mid-cycle as well. I take ovulation tests, but I don't seem to get a positive. Feeling a bit fed up!

@Danielle95lab YAYY thats amazing news!! So pleased for you Smile fingers crossed you could be having a special Christmas present this year 🙊!
Things are a bit odd this week! I was due on mid last week, nothing so thought great body is still messed up from depo here we go again, stopped testing OPKs last weekend and went out drinking last night, when temping this morning my temp had a huge surge, the biggest I've seen and decided to just check an OPK this afternoon and it looked like this which for me is the strongest I've seen in a while. So I'm thinking maybe I could have just missed my surge?xxx

@Tiamo04 welcome! Sorry you're also having a crappy experience from the devil depo! You seem to be getting back on track now though so everything crossed this is your month xxx

Danielle95lab · 08/12/2019 23:02

@ForeverHopeful67 aw I really hope so I'd be over the moon! Thanks for your support lovely.

These pesky periods 🙈🙈!! But to be honest people say temperature is the best way to tell and if you had a big spike I reckon you've just missed your surge. So this is good news, I'm feeling really hopeful for you. Keep testing though cause mine looked like that at the beginning of the week and then I got my first positive.

Keep me updated over the next few days with your tests. Got everything crossed for you xxx

@Danielle95lab when is AF due? Completely praying for you that she doesn't show at all!!

Negative OPKs completely today and major temp drop this morning so no idea what's going on! Wish my body would settle down so I can keep up haha!xx

Sparrowlegs248 · 09/12/2019 23:08

I wa on the repo jab fur about 10 years I think. It took 2.5 years for me to conceive, after my first "missed" jab. 9 months for AF to return.

However, it took literally ONCE for me to conceive DC2 , resulting in an 18 month age gap!

Danielle95lab · 10/12/2019 11:16

@ForeverHopeful67 I don't have a clue haha. My last one was 40 days long, so if it's the same which is looking likely, it's due 25th December.

Aw no! I feel you chick. It's all over the place you dunno whether you're coming or going. I've read loads of things where people have said they never got a positive test but still conceived so you just don't know.

I've had three days of positive peak ovulation tests now. I'm actually getting stressed that they are constantly positive.. any idea if that's normal😂?xxx

@ForeverHopeful67 @Danielle95lab thank you for the warm welcome :) AF was due yesterday but was a no show and its still not here... decided to just take a HPT just to rule it out and I got a faint line, still not trying to get too excited so waiting till it shows on a digital then I'll ring my gynaecologist for bloodwork and hopefully an early ultrasound...

how are you ladies feeling? :) xx*

@Tiamo04 omg that looks very promising I'm so excited for you! Keep me updated please!! I dunno how you've contained yourself haha.

I've had positive ovulation tests for three days straight now, any idea if that's normal? I have a really long cycle at the moment so not expecting AF to arrive until xmas day, hoping it won't show😂xx

Tiamo04 · 10/12/2019 18:49

@Danielle95lab thank you will do... will only retest on Thursday again to see if HCG has indeed doubled then do a digital on Saturday :)

Yes it's normal get baby dancing sis Grin but with that being said I only BD the day before ovulation as DP was away for work and only came back 4 days later so think his lil men were patient with me and waited I had definitely ruled this month out but my body was and still is telling me otherwise :) FX for you this month and for this lil one to stick xx*

Branleuse · 10/12/2019 18:50

i wonder if its worth taking agnus castus for a few months to try and regulate your hormones

ForeverHopeful67 · 10/12/2019 23:08

@Danielle95lab well that certainly is a positive OPK! How exciting super jealous!! This gives me hope 💖
From what I read online ( and I've read a lot, living through others 😉) it can be different for everyone, some people have a peak for a matter of hours some for a few days.
Imagine testing Christmas Day and getting a positive!! Too excited for you keep us updated on everything!!xx

@Tiamo04 congratulations!! Can't believe how calm and restrained you're being I'd be shouting it from the rooftops haha!!
Let us know how your test goes on Saturday everything crossed for you.

@Branleuse I've actually just recently started taken Agnus Castus to see if this helps.. did you take it?

Danielle95lab · 11/12/2019 08:30

@ForeverHopeful67 you know I'll keep you updated lovely☺️!! Thanks for your support it means so much. I really really hope this is a positive step and not my body being weird 😂. I've tried the body temp thing but I need to start it at the beginning of my cycle cause I've done it too late this month to know what's right and what isn't.

Honestly, keep having hope. It was only last Thursday that I was messaging my friends upset because I kept getting negatives and now look, I can't shake the positives!

It's mad how exciting a positive OPK is, but I'm dying for a positive pregnancy test 🙈! Come on body!!!!xxx

ForeverHopeful67 · 11/12/2019 13:39

@Danielle95lab you're so welcome babe it's nice having someone to talk this through with Smile I know what you mean, there's no middle ground... a whole load of negatives or a whole load of positives 😂 I defo know which one I'd prefer though!! Have you done another test today?
I temp but I don't feel like it helps as mine is still all over the place! I know what you mean though, it's so hard to stay positive when nothing is straight forward, no positive OPKs, temp all over the place, period was due a week ago and no sign - give me a break 😂 you give me hope though :)
Step one - positive OPK done, step two positive pregnancy test! So hope this is your month xxx

Danielle95lab · 11/12/2019 14:17

@ForeverHopeful67 seriously you make me feel so much better about it! Yeah I think I like to prepare myself for the worst so I don't feel so let down that's why I'm not making a big deal out of anything. OPK was high, but not at a peak which it had been for three days. So I think ovulation is officially today and now the two week wait commences 😂!

Honestly I have so much hope for you because I've been in your shoes every single month but this one. You'll definitely get a positive soon. The temp thing just annoys me personally and I don't sleep great as it is so I don't trust it.

I can't believe your AF hasn't shown yet, just when you think your cycles are regulating 🤦🏻‍♀️ it pisses you off doesn't it. Keep me updated daily on your OPK! Xxxx

Chickoletta · 14/12/2019 07:20

Sorry to hear people’s negative experiences with the depo. Just to give another side, I was on the depo before TTC with both my DCs. Periods returned after a couple of months and we were pregnant within 2 cycles both times.

Dragonboobs · 14/12/2019 07:28

I was on the depo injection for years. I read somewhere about coming off it but going onto the mini pill first - can’t remember where I read it. It was something about it helping cycles to return. Anyway, I did this and was on the mini pill for a year before ttc. I then fell pregnant within a couple of months with both dc. Eldest is 7 now so this was a while ago.

Just thought it might help someone who reads this and is on depo now.

ForeverHopeful67 · 14/12/2019 23:46

@Danielle95lab hey babe, sorry I haven't replied I'm away for the weekend Smile
Thanks for your positive words and hopeful thoughts!!
It does feel like it's never ending atm and I'm just waiting to be cut a break, currently on CD35 and had a teeny bit of spotting today so I'm really hoping this is the start of
my period so that it's not too far out and still settling rather than non existent again!!
How are things with you Smile any signs of things being any different this cycle now you've had your peak opk?xxx

Danielle95lab · 15/12/2019 10:17

@ForeverHopeful67 aw how lovely, I hope you're having an amazing time. Nice little distraction from all this I hope.

Oh my word I hope you don't end up like me with 40 day cycles 🙈 everyone's mid-way through their next cycle by the time I finish mine haha. Let me know when AF arrives, then just think a fresh start begins!!

I'm 4 DPO but don't feel very hopeful😂 very very early days but feel no different. Boobs are killing but that's normal for me. The only weird things I've had is very vivid dreams and more discharge than normal (sorry tmi). Apart from that all the same. I've wrote this month off already to be honest haha xx

OP posts:
ForeverHopeful67 · 15/12/2019 22:26

@Danielle95lab thanks chick!
I know my cycles are a nightmare and periods are always extremely light since I've stopped the depo ( barely need a pad at all) but I think that also May have something to do with me never ovulating? Im spotting again today so just going to count this as a period as I think this is as good as it's going to get for me 😂

Ooooh we'll even do that still sounds promising ☺️ keep me updated even if it's just the little random things! It's sometimes easier to write things off rather than to get your hopes up only to be disappointed isn't it! But I still feel super optimistic that things are going in the right direction for you!!xx

Danielle95lab · 16/12/2019 08:27

@ForeverHopeful67 well I mean even if it doesn't happen this time, this has been the first most promising month which is something isn't it! I don't think I want to over analysis anything either, like oh I've got a bit of nausea I must be pregnant 😂😂 cause that will drive me up the wall.

Maybe if you're spotting you might be coming close to a proper period? I spotted at the beginning of this cycle, went in a proper mood over it but it was only there like a day. So you just don't know. Honestly depo is lethal, it's mad how different it is for everyone as well. I hope your cycle sorts itself out😫 make sure you keep me updated too xxxx

OP posts:
Danielle95lab · 16/12/2019 11:07

@Tiamo04 did you get your BFP lovely?xx

OP posts:
ForeverHopeful67 · 16/12/2019 23:34

@Danielle95lab yep we have to take these small little victories as they don't come by very often 😊 although it's definitely easier said than done to not over analyse stuff!

Spotting has came to a halt.. just like everything else really 😂 had nothing at all today! Did you ever experience spotting mid cycle when your periods are settling down? As I feel like almost every two weeks I have a day or so of some sort of brownish spotting / CM and then nothing for two weeks so I can't be sure where I'm at cycle wise ever! Feels like it's taking an age to all settle down xxxx

Danielle95lab · 17/12/2019 08:24

@ForeverHopeful67 yeah I had spotting really bad. Last month I had spotting for two weeks straight (I was convinced it was just my period at one point when it didn't stop and I had a 30 day cycle on average at this point) anyway, it stopped around two days before my period decided to start. Hence the really long 40 cycles began haha.

Even this month I had spotting around a week after AF and I thought oh great period again, but it stopped. But this was much shorter like two days. It's either always brown or light pink. I think our bodies are still a bit all over. It's really really disheartening and I dunno about you but as the months go on, I get to a point where I'm like how long is this going to take 🤦🏻‍♀️ xxxx

OP posts:
ForeverHopeful67 · 17/12/2019 13:57

@Danielle95lab I'm exactly the same babe, I just think surely our bodies have to sort themselves out soon how much longer can this go on for?!
The weird thing is today I have what I think could be EWCM (I've never had it before!) so now I'm wondering if the bit of spotting could have been ovulation?! - who bloody knows this is such a guessing game 😂
How are you feeling lately ☺️ ?xxx
