So we’ve been trying over 3 years with not so much as a late period. Clomid didn’t work and we’re just having a break from it all before next steps. I’m 40.

On day 28 cycle I got some red spotting mostly when I wiped. Since then brown discharge only, now on day 33. No other symptoms so wasn’t getting hopes up but had some pregnancy tests in so today decided to poas.

First one tesco - line came up pretty soon but was faint/not very blue and I read that tesco tests are notorious for evap lines.
DP thought no.

Just done a Numark pharmacy one, round window is supposed to be a cross if positive,
Just a horizontal line of negative.
I can see a cross, can you?

I'm not dissing the medical profession by the way! The reason it's done like that is you can be certain of the date of LMP but not certain of ovulation date.

Thanks Inthemoment - well 4 weeks pregnant sounds more real than 2 so I’ll take it for now Grin

6 weeks from period - pregnancy is always dated from your period. Thus you are 4 weeksish now despite having actually conceived two weeksish ago. So I tend to wait until it's been 6 weeks since my period/2 weeks since positive test before referring to midwife etc. There's no harm in doing it sooner as such, I'd just rather not have to cancel the appointment if I miscarried. Then your booking-in appointment with the midwife is at around 8 to 10 weeks pregnant in most areas, but that's just an information gathering and nothing really happens before the 12 week scan. The first trimester is really just about waiting and taking folic acid Smile

Thank god I kept up with the folic acid, also been taking a good multivitamin plus zinc. I’ll switch to a pregnancy one I think. Diet is good in that it’s full of all the things it should have but probably a bit too much of the things it shouldn’t too, my drinking has been virtually non existent while trying but ironically I’ve had probably the equivalent of a bottle and a half of wine in the last 2 weeks.
Obviously won’t have any now though.

Come on little cluster of cells, we can do this!
