@XjustagirlX how long have you been trying?

XjustagirlX · 27/11/2019 17:25

@whatsthecraic91 since May this year

whatsthecraic91 · 27/11/2019 18:14

@xjustagirlx we have been trying since January- going to my GP in January if I’m not pregnant before then 🤞🏼

XjustagirlX · 27/11/2019 18:18

@whatsthecraic91 the gp was lovely actually. I was really worried in case they were really unhelpful as I’ve read done horror stories. But I was really impressed.

This cycle we have decided to not DTD until i get a peak smiley. Then do it for 3 days. We have tried doing it every other day and it’s just not working. Apparently that’s what worked for my DH brother the month they got pregnant.

Kiza · 27/11/2019 18:56

@XjustagirlX that's really positive your gp requested those tests so quickly. My first attempt at a GP was rather rude and adamant we had to wait a year, despite my age. Hope the tests go smoothly for you

Lottiepink · 27/11/2019 19:00

@XjustagirlX how good they have told you they will do the tests now, how old are you? I thought it was only if you were over 35? Totally get why you are going to try a different way this cycle, hopefully it works fingers crossed!
Weird question tho, will your DH relieve himself (better way to put it 😂) before you try after the peak smily? I only ask as if they don't ejaculate for over 7 days I think many of the sperm are not viable, but that's based on what they say for the sperm test?

whatsthecraic91 · 27/11/2019 19:30

@XjustagirlX that’s brilliant they were so good! I am really scared going to the GP in January as I have recently moved house out of the area so I have had to leave the GP I was with my whole life and going somewhere new is worrying me so much.

whatsthecraic91 · 27/11/2019 19:33

Ps caved and held my wee for 4 hours, I done it in a pot and put it in the cupboard under sink before I got in the bath, DP likes to come in to talk to me sometimes so I’ll test when I get out 😅 so scared of seeing a BFN 🥺

whatsthecraic91 · 27/11/2019 20:15

BFN of course 😶

XjustagirlX · 27/11/2019 20:41

@Lottiepink I’m 30. He said he will ‘relieve himself’ a few days before haha.

@whatsthecraic91 how many dpo are you?

Katlia · 27/11/2019 20:56

Hi
I've never posted here but need some advice. I've been on the pill for six years since I had my daughter but recently been on some medication that makes me a bit fuzzy. I've also been very stressed in a new job. Anyway I missed a few pills and decided to test to check. I've missed a few before with no issue so thought I was just being ott. I used a digital even though I hate them because when I was trying for my daughter I had a bout five positives on them in as many months that all turned into chemicals. The digital came up like you can see. I immediately panicked and drove to a supermarket and picked up a clear blue with a strip and it was definitely positive. Then I read these are notorious for false positives too. So then today I went back and bought a pink dye which is supposed to be more sensitive at 10 rather than 25 but there's only a barely there line as you can see. So then I did the second blue dye test and that was clearly positive. Idk what is going on.

I should say that my husband will not be pleased about this which is why I'm getting into a state

Lottiepink · 27/11/2019 21:07

@XjustagirlX aww fab they are taking you seriously and good with getting the tests done! Haha I'm a nightmare I don't like the thought of mine doing it himself even though it's totally normal 🙈😂 I like to be a part of it, feel hard done by 😂 hopefully though it will totally take the pressure off and work for you both🤞🏻

Hope you all are doing ok?

Lottiepink · 27/11/2019 21:08

@whatsthecraic91 so sorry 😭😭

ValidUser · 27/11/2019 21:58

Sorry @whatsthecraic91. X

On my last follicle tracking cycle.

So I got my pre ivf smear and chlamydia swab today. I need to lose 10kg but I'll manage that easily. Got into a comfort eating habit in recent months!

Filling out the paperwork now and our first appointment will be late January!

Hello @ValidUser @whatsthecraic91 @SunnyFlover @Lozzlepop @orangeloo @Anny27 @Kiza

And welcome @Shuckle @GalaxyGirl24

The spunk in a cup and cervix stories have brought smiles to my eyes and I'm soooooo fed up hearing about people accidentally falling pregnant now!

It's been a bit manic recently, I've had a job interview and submitted an application, had family stay for the weekend and am recovering from another stomach bug and started my nutrition programme!

And, the GP has now informed me that I need more blood tests and an ultrasound before she can do a referral so don't think that'll happen until the new year now!

ValidUser · 27/11/2019 22:15

@MIW01 that sucks balls. Waiting makes this whole process so much harder!

I did have a bit of a cry when talking to my lovely fertility nurse today. February for IVF feels like years away! And if I hadn't got a bit portly on my hormones I wouldn't be waiting, so feeling a tad cross with myself.

But if it weren't my weight, Christmas would still get in the way, so it's not like it makes a massive difference.

Hey girls, do you mind if someone new joins you?

It's my first month of TTC after years of gearing up to this point. OH is 100% infertile so we are using a donor. We finally found one, then OH was diagnosed with bowl cancer. Surgery, chemo and a few months of recovery later and our original donor backed out so then we had months of trying to find a new one.

It's been around 3 years of trying leading to this point and I'm super excited. Currently 16DPO but testing negative and I'm going crazy with not knowing. Got a lot of AF style cramps so I'm not too hopeful.

Sorry for the essay - got no one I can talk to about this stuff irl.

SunnyFlover · 27/11/2019 23:51

@aLilNonnyMouse welcome 🌻 Jesus, you guys have been through hell and then some to get here... I really hope you get your little joy ASAP, you are overdue some TLC from life!! 🌻

Kiza · 28/11/2019 07:24

@whatsthecraic91 when is AF due?

@ValidUser I think Xmas will help speed up time for you and if you put Jan as a focus for weight loss then that could go by quickly too- really helps when you have a goal.

Welcome @aLilNonnyMouse that is a journey and a half you've been through already. Welcome to the group, these women are amazing. Help pick up up, allow you to moan and make you feel less alone in thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Well Sod's law that I got a +opk today at cd 11 (4 days early) on the week DP is away! I'm going to pray it's a long surge and get to it when he gets home tomorrow afternoon!

MIW01 · 28/11/2019 08:16

Welcome @aLilNonnyMouse so sorry to hear about all your struggles and feeling humbled. I can't imagine what a tough time you've had it sounds awful and keeping everything crossed for you! 🤞

@ValidUser that's outrageous in my opinion that they stuff you full of hormones that cause you to gain fat and then hold you accountable for the outcome! Everything 🤞for you.

I'm just glad that something is being done. I booked next week off thinking that would be the week I feel unwell on this nutrition plan, typical! So hopefully I can get at least a blood test done then and find out more about the ultrasound referral.

I'm really dehydrated as only been on water and herbal tea and I despise water and don't enjoy drinking herbal by the gallon. Been rudely awoken by delivery of our shed this morning so decided to have a clipper decaf with goats milk. Don't think I'm supposed to have it but technically it's allowed following the rule book! And I figure better than dehydration.

whatsthecraic91 · 28/11/2019 08:23

@XjustagirlX I’m only 10DPO today so fingers crossed it’s just too early 🤞🏼 I think I’ll wait to Saturday and test again!

@Lottiepink hopefully it’s just too early 🤞🏼I’m the same I’d like to be a part of it too 🤣🤣

@ValidUser I’m sure you can’t wait to the end of January now!! It’ll be here before you know it 😊

@MIW01 nice to hear from you! Ugh me too and of course there will be the Facebook Christmas Day parade of people announcing 😓 you’ve been busy! Hope your interview went well! Having to wait is hard but Christmas and new year in between will make it fly by!

@Kiza Flo is saying Sunday and Ovia is saying Tuesday, 10DPO today so I’m keeping positive it may just be too early. But had the urge all day yesterday so just had to test 😂 don’t even feel like AF is coming tho 🤞🏼

Lottiepink · 28/11/2019 08:26

@ValidUser nice for you tho to finally have a plan in place and over Christmas you can hopefully relax a little before it all starts! Is the 10kg loss to fit into the ideal BMI range?

@MIW01 with you on that one! Hope you feel back to yourself soon. What is the nutrition plan you are following please? Aww no, Hopefully they will push for you to get it this side of Christmas, if not get a date set for early jan! The waiting is the worst bit! We are in limbo too until my DH can do his 2nd SA in 5 weeks!

@aLilNonnyMouse so sorry to hear all you have been through, You definitely deserve a happy ever after!

@Kiza ahh so annoying, as you say, hopefully be a long surge!

I don't know what's happened with me this cycle, my apps confirmed ov on cd14, 4/5 days early for me, I usually have a 10day luteal phase, and I'm on CD24 now so I'm expecting af. Temps dropped last 2 days too and got a few cramps. I kept thinking I've maybe had an anovulatory cycle, who knows!

Shuckle · 28/11/2019 09:36

It's clearer in person than on the picture but what do you all think? It looks pretty positive to me 🤞 11/12DPO today on a cheap test

TTC First Baby Thread 23
orangeloo · 28/11/2019 10:40

@Shuckle definitely a line! Really hope it gets darker for you 🤞🏼 x

@ValidUser glad u have a date and it's in site, just enjoy the Xmas period knowing you have something to look forward to Smile

I'm struggling atm been listening to infertility podcasts and feel like I've maybe been focusing on the whole thing too much as I hasn't done me any favours. Also my usual spotting started at 6dpo so my lifestyle changes and acupuncture haven't helped yet at least. I feel down and heavy and like it may never happen for me I know I'm catasrophising. Any tips on taking my mind off it or getting out of these kinds of funk much appreciated.
