Hey @jenijeni1 welcome to the group. I came off the jab in may 2017 and it took my body over a year to get back to normal periods etc. But everyone is different.
We have been trying to conceive #2 since August.
Af is due to finish any day , my hubby seems .ich more into it this month as he keeps saying this will be out month babe we can do this Haha bless him. I've the the tonsillitis viral this week so hopefully my energy will return before the next couple of days haha.

Zm2019 · 25/11/2019 17:52

I apologise the previous message is very poor spelling.

Jenijeni1 · 25/11/2019 18:11

Thanks both, Zm2019 what does at mean? Sorry I'm very new to all this! P

Jenijeni1 · 25/11/2019 18:12

Not at af?

Kiki275 · 25/11/2019 19:03

@Jenijeni1 which pill are you taking? If it's the combined pill with Oestrogen, then it may take several months for your body to normalise. With the mini-pill, maybe just a month and you're good to go.

Some of the acronyms you'll see in here:
AF= Aunti Flo, or your period.
BFP/BFN = big fat positive/negative pregnancy test.
EWCM = egg white cervical mucus (discharge)
DPO = days past ovulation
DTD = doing the deed
TWW = two week wait (the awful two weeks between ovulation and waiting for AF or BFP)
OPKs are I think ovulation prediction kits but I could be wrong.

Hope this helps?x

It's Gedarel 20/150 ethinylestradiol/desogestrel. I'm not even sure what kind of pill is it! I sound useless! I'm 30 now but when I first started using contraception I had the rod fitted. I then got it replaced a couple of times and then I've been on the pill for maybe 5/6 years or so now. Since I've never had any issues I've not had to look into it too much. I'm slightly worried in that I've been with my fella 12 years, I've been relatively good at taking the pill but I have never had any pregnancy scares. I've heard of people who have been on contraception and become pregnant and I suppose I'm slightly worried that since I've never even slightly thought I was that we might have trouble conceiving.

Jenijeni1 · 25/11/2019 21:31

I think I may come off the pill from today now, still not going to try for another 6 months but it might be better to give myself more time to get back to natural periods

Kiki275 · 25/11/2019 22:09

@Jenijeni1 I've just checked the NHS and there's no mention of differences in pills, but I'm sure my GP put me on the mini-pill rather than combined for this reason. www.nhs.uk/conditions/contraception/when-periods-after-stopping-pill/
6 months should be plenty of time, however if it happened in this time would you be ready? It's such a hard decision to make... the ideal time, only for fate to potentially throw a spanner in the works one way or another x

Jenijeni1 · 26/11/2019 07:57

I think we would do all we could so that it wouldn't be in the next 6 months, however if it did happen it would be ok. This might sound a bit ridiculous but we're getting married end of August. Neither of us are fussed on big weddings so it is just a registry office with very close family and friends and then we're having a bit of a party. I wouldn't mind being pregnant on the occasion but I'd rather not be huge! We probably should have arrange things sooner but although we're both wanting to be married neither of us were bothered too much about holding a wedding so it's taken a while!

Zm2019 · 01/12/2019 17:13

How is everyone doing? We have all seem to have gone quiet.
I am currently getting over the tonsillitis/flu virus and ovalating this week x

Body is such a weird thing lol, are you using cheaply pregnancy tests or a high priced one. I always buy cheap ones but think if I was late I'd buy a dearer one x

claireb707 · 03/12/2019 19:45

I've done 2 ic and a fast response, didn't want to waste the frer too early. Might do one tomorrow if it hasn't appeared

claireb707 · 04/12/2019 21:12

Now 18 days (cd32), bfn again but my temp has dropped a lot overnight so suspect period is on its way but no symptoms of it yet (normally get spotting and cramps)

@claireb707 ohhh thats annoying! Esp as u need to know for the trip!! Are u sing ic or FRER? Thats strnge but then u did have a bit of a strange month with ovulation at. Didnt u? Well I'm hoping u get a BFP soon hun as its not over till the witch shows...hormone levels may just be too low to be picked up on a test

claireb707 · 04/12/2019 22:04

Still ic, was going to use a frer this morning but I was convinced period was about to start so didn't want to waste it 😂
