Hey out there!

Thought I'd start a little thread to see if anybody will be in the same boat.

Finally decided to start our TTC journey! Very excited and a little nervous!

This will be our first baby, I'm 28 and my husband is 27. We have been together over 8 years. I have already started taking folic acid with vitamin D to get used to taking it.

Looking at TTC after we are back from our holiday to New York in November.

Currently on Cerelle and been on this for 4 years before this I was on the implant and then before this another pill from about 16.

I have no idea about cycles and not really had regular periods since I was 15!

Feel free to join and tell me your story if you are going to start your journey around the same time! SmileSmile bye for now!

@JayJ0 yeah I've used OPK's the past 2 cycles. The first one I ovulated around day 16 and this time I got my static smiley exactly 3 weeks ago today. I know it's not a guarantee that I ovulated at all though! I'll keep you updated though as I've found past posts on here helpful when I've been googling!

Have you got things to keep you busy over the TWW?

JayJ0 · 03/01/2020 20:10

Oh is it not? I thought a positive ovulation stick meant ovulation lol shows how much I no! Fingers crossed for you!!
It’s my father in laws birthday next week and we’re going for a family meal then it’s my littlests birthday the following week so I am pretty busy really so hopefully it’ll go quick xx

LuluRM · 05/01/2020 12:47

Hey @JayJ0! Good luck! I didn’t really get my head around the ovulation tests tbh, never got a clear definite positive and then it was Christmas so just gave up with testing and carried on baby dancing whenever we could. Considering getting the clear blue one but they’re so expensive for one month! Did a test this morning 2 days before my period is due and got a BFN so a bit disheartened today but guess there’s always next month. Just wish I knew if there was something actually wrong or if it was just luck of the draw. It’s only been 2 cycles but I’m overthinking xx

JayJ0 · 05/01/2020 16:05

Hi @LuluRM don’t worry you still might be I never got early positive with any of my current children I was always baffled when people did and I never but yeah I didn’t.. and if not then just think it’s not the end of your cycle your period is the beginning of the new cycle and time to try again :)... so with the research that I’ve done which is a lot because apparently I’m baby and pregnancy obsessed now lol.. all couples that have no fertility problems and are fine only have a 25% chance each month to get pregnant which isn’t very high! Within the first 6 months 70% fall pregnant and within the first year 85% so I think those percentages are better I’d be happy if it only took me 6 months! I’ve been watching a lot of one born every minute on demand and omg it makes me so excited! My husband is like why are you so excited for all that pain again lol but it’s just weird it’s like the most amazing pain haha! Xx

LuluRM · 05/01/2020 16:28

@Jayj0 thanks 😊 I know all the logic is saying don’t worry it’s normal but you just think I’m doing everything right why hasn’t it happened and I know loads of people who got pregnant first month trying- not a helpful way to think I know! I’m sure I’ll be fine tomorrow. How many little ones have you got? I’ve always wanted to be a mum then the last few years we’ve been busy getting married, going on holidays, renovating houses, getting a puppy and things so it’s wasn’t on the agenda until we were settled and I wasn’t even sure if we would start trying yet but now we’ve said we will it’s like you get your heart set on the idea and I daren’t plan too far ahead. What a journey it feels already and it’s daft because it’s only been two months! Xx

JayJ0 · 05/01/2020 16:42

Yeah I totally get how you feel last month was my first month trying and when my period come I cried so much and my friend was like it’s only cycle one don’t worry but I did everything possible so I just assumed t would happen and then it never! Now I’m trying my hardest to be positive but I’ll deffo be gutted each time I get my period! I have 3 boys 9, 6 and 3 .. My 3 year old was a twin but we lost his twin very early on in his pregnancy.. I also have a puppy who is 7 months old.. were like a mad house lol but I wouldn’t have it any other way I love the craziness xx

LuluRM · 05/01/2020 21:00

Aw bet that was awful for you 💔 wishing you much better luck this time. Bet you’re hoping for a girl this time then? My husbands sister has 3 girls so the pressure is on for us to have a boy but I can honestly say I don’t care I just want a healthy baby xxx

JayJ0 · 09/01/2020 19:03

Hey how’s everyone doing? What cycle day we all on? I’m 8dpo today! Due AF next week and hoping she stays away!

@LuluRM awww hahaha yeah I can honestly say I don’t mind on gender I love my boys and another boy would be very welcome here or a girl like you say aslong as baby is healthy then I’m happy! :) xx

JayJ0 · 17/02/2020 21:53

Hi all,

It’s been a while!

How are you all getting on with your journeys?

Elmlee · 18/02/2020 09:49

Hello 👋 @JayJ0
Not much has changed my end sadly. Still no BFP.
Currently on CD '45' but definitely think I ovulated 8/9th Feb... so just waiting for flo to arrive around 22nd.. but we shall see.

My cycles are still all over after the pill stopping, currently suffering with my back as I pulled it on Sunday. It seems to be shadowing any usual back aches and pelvic pain I'd normally feel.

What about you? Anything changed? Xx

Aww fingers firmly crossed for AF to stay away for you and this be your month! When I was coming if the injection it took a while to get my body back to normal! So don’t worry it will happen!

I got my BFP last Friday! And I still can’t quite get my head around it! It took me 11 months to get pregnant with my last child and this one has just seemed to happen a lot quicker then I thought (which I’m obviously glad about)

@JayJ0 omg!!!!! 🥰
That's so brilliant! Best of luck to you and your pregnancy. Keep in touch.
I tested today 10DPO BFN... so will wait and test one more time on 22nd when AF and see what happens xxx

Thank you so much! I’m 5 weeks + 2 days according to my last period dates.. just feel like I’m in the nerve wracking stage and counting down till that 12 week scan for reassurance!

Aww well I tested at 10dpo and it was completely negative not even a glimmer of a line and then at 12 dpo I got my first faint positives so I was so surprised after my 10dpo negative! Goes to show you never no! ☺️ Xx

Elmlee · 18/02/2020 21:43

@JayJ0 I know what you mean I think I'd be exactly the same!

Aww that's reassuring hopefully I will have the same fate! We shall see!

Fingers crossed 🤞 keep in touch it will lovely to see how you get on and see any scan photos xxx

Hey all! Any updates? How is everyone getting on TTC? Hope everyone is safe and well xx

Emjs18 · 21/05/2020 16:10

Hi @JayJ0, I don't think I've actually messaged on here since December! How are you getting on? We managed to conceive first time at the end of December but we miscarried at the beginning of February a week after our booking in appointment. We started trying again in March and have done a test this week and got a BFP, so fingers crossed! It's so nerve wracking not knowing if everything is going okay.

JayJ0 · 22/05/2020 22:34

Hey @Emjs18 I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage! But equally so happy for your BFP this week! Ill keep everything crossed for you for the next few weeks, your right it is nerve wracking but you’ll be fine stay positive (easier said then done I no) 😊 I went for 2 early scans for my own reassurance which weren’t too expensive maybe if you can do that then book one for your own piece of mind! I’m 19 weeks today, I have my 20 week scan next Thursday and I’m really anxious for it, it’s the important health check scan so yeah the nerves are kicking in! Started feeling baby move last week though and it’s lovely laying here just feeling baby kicking away! Wish coronavirus would just go away now though so we could all get back to a little normality and start to enjoy it a-bit more with friends and family! Xxx

Emjs18 · 23/05/2020 00:24

Yes I'm trying to stay positive and not get too carried away. I've looked at going for an early scan and it's definitely something that I'll do. That's amazing that you are 19 weeks! I think it's normal to be anxious about the scan but I'm sure it'll be fine and it's brilliant that you started feeling movement. I agree Coronavirus can stop now, we've had enough. At least hopefully by the time our babies are born there will be less uncertainty about everything.
