Hi,
Looking for a bit of advise I'm having my implant removed this week Grin eeek!!
I'm super excited to start trying for another baby, was just wondering on who had theirs out and their stories as in how long did it take for you to conceive?
I'm really hoping we catch straight away as I'm sooo impatient lol

Any stories would be lovley to hear x

I had my implant out last wednesday so following this post, would also like to hear some stories.

Like you im very impatient and obsessing already haha

Did you have any periods when you was on the implant?

Lauren3118 · 06/08/2019 17:03

@JadelousieLaird

Hiii,
Finally someone in the same boat as me,

This is my second implant so will be my 4th year so slightly worried/obsessing that it will take ages for my body to get back to normal!

Haven't had periods as such, just a day or two of spotting every 4-6 months, but that's what concerns me

Tomorrow is the day I'll finally be contraceptive free 🙌

@Lauren3118 Hopefully it wont take us long

it was my second implant too although i did have a break in between.

ive just started doing ovulation tests as i dont have a clue what my cycle is and i didnt want to miss in case i ovulate before my period, i did have periods but never tracked them.

Good luck for tommorow!

Lauren3118 · 06/08/2019 17:29

@JadelousieLaird

Thanks!!

I think I'm going to stock up on ovulation tests however think I need to do some reading on how to use them properly as haven't got a clue lol ..

I fell pregnant with my daughter (6) unexpectedly after 2 losses so was super thankful, just hope I'm lucky this time round

I have fingers and toes crossed for us both 🤞

Hey had my implant out in October and I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant ! Didn’t think it would be this quick but just been really lucky as I also have PCOS
I downloaded the app flo helped me to understand my cycle again and helped with ovulating I didn’t use the ovulating sticks just used the app .. had the implant in until it ran out
Good luck ladies .. x

Lauren3118 · 06/08/2019 17:47

@Corrina89

Congratulations!

Will have a look at flo .. thanks x

Corrina89 · 06/08/2019 18:09

Thankyou we have only known ourselfs 4 weeks ago so still a bit of a shock but I also didn’t have regular periods so the flo really did help not sure if it was down to the app or we was just lucky but it helped logging things down .. x

jadelouiselaird · 06/08/2019 18:27

Ive got 4 apps on the go lol, one of which is used with the easy@home ovulation tests you upload them to the app and it tells if there positive or negative

I got them of amazon they came with some pregnancy tests as well, only just started using them myself but the app makes it easier. The app is called premom and ive got the glow app which is quite good.

mummyofone1 · 06/08/2019 18:48

Hey,
I had my implant out early December 2017, and fell pregnant at the end of January 2018. It happened much quicker than I expected.
Good luck x

Lauren3118 · 06/08/2019 18:55

@mummyofone1

Wow that was quick, ..

did you have periods when you had the implant? & how long did you have it in before having it out?

X

OP posts:
jadelouiselaird · 06/08/2019 19:05

@mummyofone1 also did you have a period before you found out you was pregnant?

LiveEachDay · 06/08/2019 19:10

Www same situation so I'm following this Smile

mummyofone1 · 06/08/2019 19:13

Hi both,

Yes I had very light irregular periods during the implant and one period before falling pregnant.
It was my second consecutive implant so was in 5 years in total, so thought it would take a little longer for hormones to settle, but the nurse who removed my implant was right you can catch straight away Smile

jadelouiselaird · 07/08/2019 10:45

@mummyofone1 yes ive heard you can catch straight away. Lets hope we have as much luck as you :)

Lauren3118 · 07/08/2019 22:47

So had the implant out finally after a 4 hour wait at the clinic 😫 & I felt everything as the anaesthetic didn't work properly .

@jadelouiselaird have you had a 'withdrawal' bleed since having yours out last week?

Baby dust required this way please 👶😂

I'm afraid to say for me it took a year ttc #2 after having my implant out! It was my third implant but with a few years break for dd1. No PCOS or any other issues, it just took a while. Dd2 is now 6 months old though and the gap has worked out well!

jadelouiselaird · 08/08/2019 09:22

@Lauren3118 no ive not had a withdrawal bleed

I had it out on the wednesday and had a smear test on the Saturday and there was a little bit of blood/spotting but im pretty sure it was from the smear test as it was my first one

Ive been experiencing some cramps though like im going to start my period, but still waiting. I had periods with the implant and pretty sure one is due so im on the waiting game.

jadelouiselaird · 18/08/2019 07:56

Update ive just got my period, can finally stArt tracking etc

GrinGrin

Lauren3118 · 18/08/2019 10:22

@jadelouiselaird

I'm still waiting for AF to show her face .. all last week I had the worst stomach cramps they've gone now but boobs are so tender, wish this period would hurry up lol

Good luck with your tracking, keep us updated x

jadelouiselaird · 18/08/2019 10:24

Thanks will do

Thats what happend to me, felt awful then it just stopped all of a sudden then i got AF

Hopefully you wont have to wait to long

RedFox695 · 18/08/2019 12:21

Hi, can I join? I had my implant removed on the 25th June, so a little under 8 weeks ago now. I had my withdrawal bleed 5 weeks after removal, so this is my first proper cycle ttc. I was on the implant for 7 years, while on it I had very irregular periods sometimes light sometimes heavy, I really couldn't predict it so never bothered tracking them.
I hope I fall this month but I know I'd be extremely lucky if I did. If not though I'm going to start using OPK's next month I think.
Baby dust to you all! Smile

jadelouiselaird · 18/08/2019 12:58

@RedFox695 good luck you never know once AF has gone ill be on with the OPKs aswell.

Baby dust to you 😁

jadelouiselaird · 19/08/2019 17:05

i dont have a clue whats going so i started bleeding/spotting when i wiped on saturday.

Sunday was full on bleeding, now today its stopped.

So not sure if it was AF or not

Confused
Lauren3118 · 19/08/2019 17:30

@jadelouiselaird

Have you had any AF symptoms at all? I've felt awful since having my implant removed 🤮

Maybe take a test? .. not sure how long it takes for your cycle to return to normal it's all so confusing ... I'm still waiting for AF to turn up

OP posts:
jadelouiselaird · 19/08/2019 18:30

@Lauren3118 yeah i felt awful to had every symptom under the sun, sore boobs, cramps, headaches etc then all of a sudden they stopped then few days later had the bleeding

Will give it a few days see what else happens

But yeah i felt awful since coming off implant!
