TTC first baby

Hi,
I'm on cycle 5 of TTC with first child. I used clear blue advanced ovulation test for the first time last month and have purchased another one to use this month also. I'm on day 7 of this cycle and am planning on starting ovulation testing on day 12 as I ovulated on day 17 last month. I have a pretty regular 27 day cycle (no longer than 29 days).
I know it's still early days but I feel like it's never going to happen. I can't imagine actually getting a positive result. Is anyone else in a similar position and want to be on this journey with me?

@May2311 I'm getting impatient now lol! I'm due on Thursday but I keep having symptoms I don't normally have with AF. Like I've been waking up feeling sick, heartburn, I woke up with hiccups this morning (I never get hiccups). I did an internet cheapie this morning at it looked like there wa a faint line but I'm not sure...

@MummaR92 that sounds good though that your noticing symptoms that you don’t usually get with AF! Can you take a pic or is it not showing enough?

The one thing that seems to keep me sane is seeing others get BFP- so I have my fingers crossed for all of you!!

@May2311 it's not clear on a photo and I chucked it in the bin now lol! I'm hoping AF doesn't arrive but again I've got this feeling at the back of my head that this is not my month!

@MummaR92 nothing really- some cramping in lower abdomen and back the last couple of days but I don’t feel like they are pregnancy related, probably just me noticing niggles🙄 I have that feeling that it isn’t my month either.

It’s so hard the waiting. At least when I get closer I can usually tell 1-2 days before AF that it’s coming so by Thursday I should have an idea at least.

Hello - I hope you don't mind me joining you. I've never used a chat thing like this before but came across it when googling questions about TTC.

TTC for a while now but struggling to time things right. I usually have a 28 day cycle (give or take a couple of days). I thought I could tell when i was ovulating, but now I'm not so sure lol.

This month I used clearblue ovulation kit starting on CD11 & got 'low' til CD19 and then got 'high' until CD23 when i got 'peak'. I thought i felt ovulation on CD22 but my OPK that morning had shown 'high' and not 'peak' til the following day. I don't know how accurate they are, but if I trust the OPK, ovulation didn't happen til CD 23/24/25 (I think?) which is really late considering I usually have a 28 day cycle. Now on CD25 and trying to work out when I'd be due now.

I am anything but an expert but If your peak was on CD23 I will be surprised if you get AF on CD28 (5days later). From what I have read, I know the luteral phase( phase of your cycle from ovulation to AF) lasts about 12-14 days. If it does last less than 10 days I have read that this can make it harder to conceive so if you notice after tracking your ovulation over the next couple of months that your LP is short it might be worth speaking to your GP.

Thanks for the reply It confirms what I was thinking really. So I should be due at the end of this month. I hate the TTW - every month I convince myself I feel something different lol.

@May2311 AF is due today and felt as if it was arriving yesterday so I'm sure it's on it's way but I also kept getting a weird taste in my mouth yesterday. I keep feeling nauseous, I have really bad lower back pain and I've noticed this month (this is TMI) but my CM hasn't been sticky like it is before AF and feels almost a lot more wet. I have definitely felt different this month but also really feel like AF will be here any minute and I'm dreading it  I've brought some clear blue tests and will test this evening if AF hasn't arrived so fingers crossed!

@tryingforbabyone I'm doing okay thanks.. nothing so far for me no AF but no other symptoms either, had some cramping yesterday but was short lived and I have absolutely zero appetite which isn't unusual for me so I'm not convinced it's worked this month ☹️ you sound like you've had some pretty good symptoms though 😁 with the clear blue tests there not as sensitive as FRER so if it is a negative don't take it as an absolute.. plus try and hold your wee for a few hours if not FMU good luck though keeping my fingers crossed for you..

@May2311 I'm doing well thanks still no AF but nothing else either.. you had anything new going on? Normally my AF comes first thing in a morning but nothing so far but not getting my hopes up 😡

Nothing new really with me- a few twinges but I generally don’t think they are anything pregnancy related 🙄 I don’t feel like this is my month so just want next Saturday to arrive now so I can move on if that’s the case.

@May2311 the witch was due yesterday but I always give a few days either way don't like to stick to one particular day because I find that builds my hopes up too much if she doesn't arrive.. and try and be positive you just never know I have read absolutely loads where women really didn't feel anything and got a BFP I just wish pregnancy symptoms were easier to notice and not just like AF symptoms 😕

@littlelisa34 tell me about it! If only we knew the difference between them. I also get worried as loads of people seem to have loads of symptoms and I think well I have no chance this month🙄😂

Yes I always think best to wait till at least AF is due if not late as then at least you know for certain when you test. Stops you think well is it negative just because I tested early!

@May2311 yeah I'm the same always expecting loads and usually I end up with barely any symptoms just hoping when it does happen for me I will have some symptoms that really stand out..

Yeah I definitely will do will probably be on later saying she's arrived..... and you too keep us updated on any new symptoms hope you get loads in the next few days that leads to a BFP 😁

@littlelisa34 I'm already emotional this morning and AF hasn't even arrived. I've already been for 3 wees this morning and only been awake 2 hours! I normally only go that many times in a day! I've got such contradicting symptoms. My lower back has been really painful since ovulation but I feel like I've definitely got cramps this morning and yesterday. I just want to test but I'm so scared about the disappointment!

@littlelisa34 I got the Clearblue 6 days before tests are these still not as sensitive at the frer?

@tryingforbabyone well there good signs don't get disheartened Hun is AF due today?? If you do test don't take it aa a definite you still never know and the witch hasn't arrived so that's really good.. are you usually regular??

@tryingforbabyone no there not as sensitive the FRER are the most sensitive ones to get I've got two clear blue digital but I'd never take them until I'd had at least a few days of strong positives on a FRER

@littlelisa34 yes Af due today and tend to be regular. Sometimes a couple of days late but I feel like it'll be today although the mind is a very strange thing and I feel like it could be that psychologically I know it's due today.
Oh thats interesting about the tests. Perhaps I'll go get the frer then if AF hasn't arrived today. I'm scared every time I go to the toilet just in case.
Does anyone find the worse but having to tell their OH. Every month when AF arrives I never know how to tell him, I feel like I've let him down. He is always so positive about it and really nice I just have having to say the words AF is here

Went and got a frer test and had fully prepared myself that it would be a bfn but still the disappointment is heartbreaking. Both my partner and I have had a cry and going to watch a film together now. Hope everyone else is holding up!

@tryingforbabyone I'm sorry to hear that but if AF hadn't shown up you never know.. try and have a relaxing night and enjoy the film 😁
