Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@tinyole it’s exactly like AF to turn up tomorrow!
I guess if you want to test while in Paris nothing will stop you thinking about it.

It will be interesting to see if you symptom spot whilst being away, as you are distracted with a holiday it might not be so apparent, you should defo make a list this month just so you don’t say next month ‘maybe because I was away I had different symptoms’ does that make sense? Lol

I will let you know how it goes, not sure I’d get any results as of yet.

You haven’t booked anywhere yet? What do you like to do have you been Paris before?

My DP is listening and supporting but there isn’t much else he can do is there really. He gets the fun part of dtd we get all the rest of the hard work! What about your DP/DH?

tinyole · 17/07/2019 20:12

@AllHopeAndNoResults yes been to Paris a few times have loads of family in France. We're just going to chill out, go to the Louvre and do cultural things and obviously eat a lot of food.

Yeah DH is pretty much the same. Takes his vitamins as instructed and enjoys DTD but he keeps out of the rest. I think he's keeping his emotions to himself though because when i thought i had the BFP he was silent for ages he was really hopeful and both of our hopes were dashed so I won't tell him again till I'm sure.

I've learnt to ignore headaches as a symptom as they come all the time now but everything else is up in the air!

Do you have any family with kids? I'm having a party this weekend and will be surrounded by family/friends with babies and it's going to be hard to not stare longingly at them.

tinyole · 17/07/2019 20:13

Forgot to post my chart with natural cycles!

Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)
Skyla01 · 17/07/2019 20:28

@tinyole I came off the pill in March but I've had the opposite to you- long cycles. Feels like I've been off the pill for ages but only on cycle 3! First cycle was 57 days then 44. Hoping the length will keep coming down. I'd rather have short cycles tbh- more chances to conceive!

@VenusStarr think I might try reflexology soon, I've heard good things!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 17/07/2019 20:30

@tinyole lovely it sounds like heaven and exactly what you need right now! I have a DS 7 and his grandad is actually in France this weekend. Sounds like you will be having a lovely time.

I know what you mean about OH’s I think we forget they are probably just as hopeful as us and they can’t physically do anything about it either.

We’ve moved away from family actually originally from London and now in Dorset. DPs is from a big African family so thereabouts lots of kids and it’s very family oriented. His niece just had a baby boy and although I’m very close to his family and wished her well I couldn’t help but have a little cry. I think it hurts me more because I’ve had a child already and I can’t seem to get pregnant again!

In the whole time since DS I’ve not used contraception with DP and we’ve never so much as had a hint of pregnancy.

What about you? Do you have many baby babies around you? Do you have children already?

Also, how do you find natural charts? Has it been useful? And does it fit in with what your AVa tells you?

I don’t know why my phone corrected to thereabouts 🤔

Morning ladies! So as predicted AF arrived this morning. I’m so angry with my body! She came late this month the least she could do was hold off a few more hours for me to get my exams done, now I’ll have to wait another month. Just feels like it’s all against me and the universe doesn’t want me to conceive 😞

I’m going to take a break from it for a bit. I hope you are all ok and getting cracking!

Speak to you soon x

Chaosonthehorizon · 18/07/2019 07:47

Opk’s never worked for me as I seem to ovulate right at the end of af (or did anyway). Thinking may just DTD every other day from end of af to say week before af due again? Knackering though!! But only trying for a short while as it is ttc 3

Skyla01 · 18/07/2019 07:56

@AllHopeAndNoResults sorry about AF!! At least you kinda know where you stand now. You have a right to be down for a few days. Hopefully then you'll be ready to get going with smep! Good luck with your exam too!

tinyole · 18/07/2019 22:25

@AllHopeAndNoResults
hey lovely. Sorry For the late reply and sorry to hear your news. Keep your head up these times will come but we're here for you. I know there's nothing I can say to make you feel better but don't stop hoping.

Where is you DP/DH from? I'm from a big African family, my mum is one of 8 😂🙈 I have cousins coming out of my ears. One of them just had a beautiful baby boy and he's so gorgeous. How are you finding living in Dorset after being in London?

I don't know if this is a silly question but have you had DH/DP tested?

I don't have any children and this will be our first but I'm getting worried as I'm 34 but I know it's not impossible so holding on to hope.

Anyway look forward to seeing you again on here soon. But breaks are great so get some rest and take your mind of it. Xxx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 18/07/2019 23:47

@tinyole @Skyla01
Thank you for the lovely support!
I am feeling ok actually and it’s right that at least I know now for sure AF arrived and I can get cracking on SMEP. I’m just going to take the next few days out of continuously googling miracle baby making cures 😂

Ooh @tinyole where is your family from? My DP is from Angola and exactly the same as you with cousins in every corner 😂

34 is still young so don’t be worried! I know you can’t help to worry but women are having children in their 40,S you still have so much time!

Dorset is a lovely place to live but the dynamics are so different but with all the knife crime etc I couldn’t raise my little boy or future children there but it will always be home for me I am a Londoner through and through and that’ll never change.

DP has been checked and he is all good to go on that front. I’m still going to go ahead with preseed and Angus Castus and manages to rebook my pelvic exam for the 1st of next month so not too far behind.

I’m check back in a couple of days and look forward to hearing from you ladies soon. Happy DTD’in!! Xx

I'm still waiting for my flashing smiley to become static. Have this feeling it won't work properly for me... Have had 6 days of flashing. Got ewcm since Wednesday though so in the spirit of the thread going to try and DTD every day until Monday at least!

@tinyole have you started the plan yet?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 19/07/2019 09:13

@Skyla01 are you taking anything to help along like EPO or similar? I know there’s loads of natural supplements to help with CM to help little swimmers travel.

What day are you on, is it possible you’ve missed it? Have you used CB every day?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 19/07/2019 09:31

Sorry af arrived @AllHopeAndNoResults but a brand new cycle with a plan is good. Fingers crossed 🤞 :)

I'm cd8 today, my opk was so faint yesterday, I suspect Wednesdays was picking up lh from my af. Expecting it to get darker over the weekend. Will be dtd tonight. Had ewcm yesterday and today. My usual ov day is cd12.

@Skyla01 I've not used CB, but good plan to listen to your body. X

Skyla01 · 19/07/2019 10:52

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm cycle day 21, but last month I didn't ovulate until day 30 so pretty sure I haven't missed it. Just have to be patient and wait for static smiley! Although I'm also aware the cb tests don't work for everyone. We could all just DTD non stop and not worry about ovulation dates..! Not taking any supplements but drinking lots of water.

@VenusStarr sounds like you aren't far away. Do you use cheapie opk? What time of day do you test?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 19/07/2019 14:47

@VenusStarr @Skyla01 so sounds like you guys will be ovulating soon. Start getting those sexy outfits ready ladies!

Have any of you any ideas or doing anything to keep it sexy instead of it feeling like a chore?

I’ve ordered my Agnus Castus so I’ll keep you updated on the progress. This month I went 40 days so it will be interesting to see if it at least cuts my cycle and therefor make me ovulate

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 19/07/2019 17:53

@AllHopeAndNoResults anything that gives you shorter and more regular cycles would be really good! I'm only 4 months off the pill so hoping that with time things will become more regular.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 19/07/2019 18:05

@Skyla01 has your GP said an estimated time frame of when your body regulates after being off the pill? Have you ever been offered Chlomid or anything?

P.s this having a break from Mumsnet conception board isn’t going very well 😂😂

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 19/07/2019 18:22

Yes, just using cheap amazon opks @Skyla01. Darker line today. I think I have a short surge so might need to test a few times over the weekend. I tend to test mid-afternoon and evening. Do you use fmu with CB?

What does agnus cactus do @AllHopeAndNoResults?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 19/07/2019 18:25

@VenusStarr Agnus Castus is said to be nature’s Chlomid it boosts your progesterone if you are low and can shorten long cycles and make you ovulate.

I haven’t used it as of yet so cannot say for definite it works but if you google it and look on Mumsnet threads there is a lot of success stories and it’s natural. I would suggest you do your own research first to see if it’s for you because Holland and Barret only sell 4g but to have an affect it needs to be a higher dose

Hello ladies! I'm planning a bbq tomorrow (just like the weather to turn on me!) so spent hours in Tesco today.

@AllHopeAndNoResults my family is from Cameroon! We literally have to rent village halls for family reunions 😂😂😂
At least now AF is here you can get going with new cycle!!

@Skyla01 we were going to start this weekend but Ava and natural cycles has pushed my cycle back so we're starting next week! DH and I have a joint calendar with scheduled dates for DTD 🙈🤣
How are you getting on?

Skyla01 · 19/07/2019 21:51

@AllHopeAndNoResults I did notice you hadn't stayed off for long! I think it can easily take 6 months + for periods to regulate again. I'll just let nature take its course.

@VenusStarr yes with cb it says to use fmu. Even though LH surge is usually afternoon. Will have to see if it works for me.

@tinyole I think planning is a good idea, very organised! Especially if you have limited times for DTD. I'm still waiting for static smiley on cb but DTD lots anyway.

Skyla01 · 20/07/2019 13:21

Feeling a bit low today (without good reason). Was hoping for a static smiley soon but still flashing this morning. I wonder if I'll be having another long cycle after all. Thought we'd better try DTD every day anyway but we weren't quite able to last night... I hope OH isn't starting to feel the pressure too much. Will try again tonight I guess. I just have that feeling, similar to last cycle, of not really knowing when ovulation is, and trying to DTD lots but it's tiring and isn't always successful. And my stupid long cycles mean we only get a chance at it every 6 weeks! :(

Right, rant over. Will try dtd today again, then maybe stick to every other day to keep our energy levels up. I'll keep testing with cb and maybe static smiley will make an appearance soon.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 20/07/2019 15:12

@Skyla01 I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling down, and it’s not without good reason it can really get you down when your body doesn’t work in your favour.

Don’t put to much pressure on yourself to DTD because it could just be that your ovulation day is running late and it will arrive. I know nothing I can say can help you but you can rant as much as you like if it helps just keep the faith that you WILL get that static smile.

I’ll have a look and see if there is anything natural that can help you regulate. Just know your day will come and all this stress will be forgotten. Perhaps plan something nice for OH like a meal and a cuddle up so it doesn’t feel so structured?

I really wish I could help you but we are all here to listen if you feel you want to vent. Chin up girl us women are made of strong stuff! 💪🏻 X

@AllHopeAndNoResults thank you! I'm feeling better now, just needed a bit of a moan. Managed to DTD today which has helped- I think OH was keen to get back on it after yesterday! Well try for every other day for the next week or so. Fingers crossed! I'm going to try and not focus so much on opks too.
