Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@AllHopeAndNoResults yes only wear Ava at night and it's super comfortable i forget it's even there. For me it's been worth the investment because doing my bbt wasn't working for me as it changed my predicted ovulation date after the fact and that really frustrated. Ava is meant to tell you your most fertile days before they happen

tinyole · 11/07/2019 19:56

@Skyla01 reflexology sounds wonderful! I don't know much about it so will have to do some research.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 19:57

@skyla01 I’ve heard a lot of good things about reflexology and acupuncture actually.

Perhaps we should try one each lol x

@tinyole I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Exciting, first potential bfp for this thread :) x

@AllHopeAndNoResults I don't go to the gym, but do a lot of walking. Apparently it is the change in your weight that matters rather than what you actually weigh. I get most supplements from Amazon, so it's not too expensive, and the manuka honey I get from Aldi where it is £5 a jar rather than the £30 I've seen elsewhere! In terms of the vitamin D, my consultant told me that pretty much everyone in this country is vitamin D deficient! x

@Skyla01 I've been doing reflexology twice a month since Feb and it really helped to sort out my cycles, in particular I had a very short luteal phase before I started the reflexology x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 20:01

@tinyole as you said it could be implantation bleed. Perhaps test again in the morning and if you still are in the same position call the GP.

I just worry because faint lines have always equalled chemical on here and I really really hope that’s not it xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 20:03

@Constance1234 interesting. You seem to be really on the ball with all this, do you take a spoonful of honey a day?

I’ve learnt some new things for my next cycle from you all. Thank you xx

Thanks for encouragement ladies. i'm going to sign out for tonight as my emotions are all over the place. it really is such a rollercoaster of a journey!! will update you all tomorrow maybe. goodnight xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 21:30

@tinyole night hun and don’t worry too much there isn’t anything you can do until you know. Sorry that isn’t much help, wish I could do more.
Please come back and update I have everything crossed for you. Sleep well xx

Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 21:59

@Constance1234 good to hear about your experiences with reflexology. Did you enquire specifically about fertility stuff or can you go and see any practitioner?

@tinyole fingers crossed for you xx

tinyole · 12/07/2019 08:37

Morning ladies. Back in fighting form but sadly admitting to myself that I'm out and AF has arrived. Flow increased slightly this morning and I've taken 3 further tests all of which have been negative. I will do a test tomorrow and Sunday and get ready to get back on the horse metaphorically and literally from next week 😂😂😂

Either way I'm in a better mood today. As my DH said, we've just gotten started regardless and I've got great feelings about SMEP

How is everyone else today?

Constance1234 · 12/07/2019 08:55

@tinyole ahh sorry to hear that. Your DH is right, you’ve got off to a good start :) x

@Skyla01 The lady I see for reflexology specialises in pregnancy and fertility reflexology. If you are any where near SW London I can give you her details x

@AllHopeAndNoResults yep I take a teaspoon of the honey a day either straight or mixed in with Greek yoghurt. It’s pretty sweet but not sickly sweet :) x

Hope everyone has a good day, nearly the weekend!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 12/07/2019 09:01

@tinyole sorry to hear that but I echo what @constance1234 says DH is right and I’m glad to hear that you feel positive for the next cycle.

I had a weird thing, I tested (I don’t know why as I can feel AF arriving) and the faintest line appeared and then disappeared within seconds. I’m not sure if I just wanted to see it or not. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway here’s to next month! Anyone else got anything to report?

@constance I’m going to buy some of the honey and give that a go x

tinyole · 12/07/2019 13:50

@AllHopeAndNoResults oh my gosh you did a test!! Are you going to test again? We can both do one tomorrow before moving on next week

I have some manuca honey at home so will
Give that a try!

tinyole · 12/07/2019 13:52

@Constance1234 why did you start taking the manukau honey? I heard it's got good general properties but does it help in fertility too?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 12/07/2019 14:24

@tinyole no hun I probably won’t. I didn’t realise how upset I’d be seeing the negative knowing i wasn’t pregnant and AF coming.

It was odd though there was the very slightest faintest line for all of 2 seconds last night and this morning.

I’m due tomorrow so yes if I don’t come on (I will) let’s test again together xx

OP posts:
tinyole · 12/07/2019 15:10

@AllHopeAndNoResults yeah I understand it is really disheartening so do what you know is best for you.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 12/07/2019 16:18

@tinyole how are you feeling? Any changes?

OP posts:
tinyole · 12/07/2019 16:51

@AllHopeAndNoResults nope. Definitely AF. Going to have a drink tonight and start the party for the next cycle lol. How about you? Any updates?

AllHopeAndNoResults · 12/07/2019 17:05

@tinyole sounds like a plan and we will no doubt go through it all again this time next month 😂 hopefully with a BFP!

I’ve had really sore boobs today, cramping and back ache but most likely is AF 🤷🏻‍♀️

Skyla01 · 12/07/2019 18:26

Sorry to hear about af @tinyole but glad to hear you're upbeat and all good to get going with smep.

I'm cd14 so going to start using cb opk from tomorrow morning (as long as I remember!). I also keep an eye on cm, and no sign of anything fertile. So looks like I'll be waiting a while again for ovulation this month. Wish my cycles weren't so long- fertile window takes forever to come around!

tinyole · 12/07/2019 18:40

@Skyla01 thank you! What does cb stand for? Are you recording you bbt at all?

Skyla01 · 12/07/2019 18:58

Sorry, it stands for clearblue.
No, I would like to try bbt but I'm a pretty terrible sleeper so I think with all my tossing & turning it would mess my temperature up. Do you temp?

tinyole · 12/07/2019 20:12

@Skyla01 I've been temping but I pee at night so it's probably been messing things up for me. Regardless I have to admit I've seen a pattern. I bought the Ava just because it predicts ovulation while temping just tells you after you've ovulated which I haven't found useful.

I used the cheapie ovulation tests and found those good but I stopped testing and I ovulated late 🙈😂

Jen306 · 12/07/2019 20:50

Hi ladies sorry to join in half way through a discussion, hope you don’t mind.
This will be our 5th cycle of ttc our first child after I came off the pill at the start of the year. My cycles gone back to normal. Started using cb digital advance OPKs last month I found it reassuring to see changes through from low - high - peak, I’d quite like to temp as well but not sure about it like i often wake at 4 but not up till 6, sometimes get up an hour or 2 before alarm goes off to go to the loo etc then go back to bed. I have considered buying an Ava too so be interested to see how it helps you?

Sort of trying the SMEP this month too. Only we dtd cd7 and 9 because hubby worked a night shift cd8 and didn’t see each other! Now cd10 has a high OPK cd9 and today so will keep dtd every other night till I get a static smile then try for the 3 days in a row.

Last month I’d really got my hopes up so just feel like I need to really make an effort. Feeling quite alone in this as not telling anyone (in real life anyways!)

Just nice to know I’m not alone in how I feel about this process! Weird how you spend so long worrying about not getting pregnant then the moment you want to it’s far more difficult than you imagined!

tinyole · 12/07/2019 21:16

@Jen306 hi welcome!!!
Always welcome to join the conversation. How have you been going about trying so far? Just DTD every so often?

I think temping could work if you're disciplined with it. I've read that you just need to have been sleeping for 4 hrs so if you wake up at night just record your temp then but I found I couldn't be disciplined.
I'll let you know how I get on with Ava! So far I love how it takes the work away from me and it's super comfortable to wear.
