Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@Skyla01 yes I agree, feeling more positive today. Hopefully you are right and there’s nothing to worry about x

@AllHopeAndNoResults glad you are feeling a bit better! I would stay positive, use opk and follow your DTD plan- you'll be giving yourselves the best chance that way.

I'm going to start using my cb opk from Saturday and we've started DTD every 3rd day. Still got 17 days until predicted ovulation according to Flo but feeling positive this month. It feels good to be following a plan and maximising our chances this cycle.

tinyole · 11/07/2019 13:35

@AllHopeAndNoResults hey glad to hear you're feeling better today and back to fighting! It's definitely not the end for you so keep peeing on those sticks till you get your BFP!!

I'm doing well today thanks. I think AF is coming for me unfortunately. My temp has started to drop which usually means only one thing so I'm mentally ready and I just want it to come and go now so I can start the next cycle.

I really feel like SMEP could work for us I've seen so many positive stories about it so I'm excited to get going!

tinyole · 11/07/2019 13:37

@Skyla01 @AllHopeAndNoResults looks like we'll all be doing this at the same time so I hope we end up with 3 BFP!!!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:07

@Skyla01 most definitely! I’ve decided there isn’t anything I can do that I’m not already. Was going to get progesterone cream but thought I could do more harm than good as I don’t know which one, how much etc so sticking to the plan is the way forward!

I think I’m going to use CB OPK too, how often do you test and do you find they are accurate?
There’s nothing wrong with getting a head start if anything it heightens your chance, and the one good thing about this baby making malarkey is although it’s heartbreaking at time it’s definitely fun practicing and preparing 😉

@tinyole it’s not unfortunate AF is coming ONLY because this time you have a plan to follow for your next cycle so if she really is coming this month then let her hurry up and it’s only a mere 5/7 until you can start your plan.

See it as a refreshing break from the constant worry of trying to conceive. Really relax over this AF and be ready to fight for your BFP next cycle!

It does look like we are all in it together and it’s very humbling isn’t it knowing that there is so many of us in the same boat 🤞 you’re right about the BFPs.

Stay focused ladies as you have both said to me, we are not out of the game yet, and I’m excited and privileged to be able to share my journey with you guys ❤️

Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 14:10

This will be my first time using cb. I'll be testing once a day with fmu. I'm a bit worried it might not work perfectly for me as my cycle is quite long and I'm starting testing early so I don't miss anything. But hope it works Ok.

3 BFPs would be great! You guys might overtake me though, despite being on cd13 my last cycle was 44 days long!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:19

Also what are we all doing to enhance our chances this cycle?
So we’ve got the plan obviously, we have an AVA, Preseed, CB OPKs. Anything else?
Any vitamins etc? I take folic acid and vit d daily! Any lifestyle changes?
Should I be taking iron too? You guys? X

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 14:22

@Skyla01 my cycle can sometimes go 45/47 so I feel your pain. If you test everyday though surely you will catch it? That’s what I plan to do.

Isn’t it expensive to buy enough of the CB to test everyday?? 😲

I tried, out of interest, the amazon cheapies today and two came back invalid 🤔 so not sure how reliable they are or maybe I got a bad batch.

I am taking loads of supplements at the moment: prenatal vitamin, wheatgrass, inositol, royal jelly, 5mg folic acid, aspirin, CoQ10, omega oil, manuka honey and a vitamin D spray. I’m also on the 16:8 diet and have been losing weight as I’ve read that if you even lose 5% of your weight it can kick your ovaries into gear - something to do with oestrogen x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 16:41

@constance1234 wow that’s a lot of stuff you’re taking! Has it made you feel a lot more energised? How do you remember to take it all 😂

Aspirin?? I’ve never heard to take this for fertility, what’s the connection and benefits? Are these supplements been recommended to you or have you researched for them? I can’t seem to decipher between what’s good and what’s not, there’s so many things out there?

I was a few months ago taking pregnacare conception then moved on to seven seas trying for a baby. I didn’t think I’d seen a difference since taking them tbh. Is there any one thing you would completely recommend? X

OP posts:
Constance1234 · 11/07/2019 17:19

Haha yes I am rattling! I keep them all in the same place so I remember to take them. I’ve been advised to take the aspirin by the consultant I’m seeing as I had a missed miscarriage last month, but I think you should only take this under medical advice as it’s a blood thinner. He also advised the omega oil, high strength folic acid and vitamin d. The rest of the stuff I mostly read about in the book ‘it starts with the egg’. And I was taking the royal jelly and manuka honey when I got pregnant with my son, so I figured I’d give them a go again. You are right there is so much out there, it’s hard to know what will be the most beneficial! x

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 17:37

@constance1234 hats off to you for being so committed!
Ahh I see, I did think I hadn’t heard to before.

I’m starting to think that I’m putting too much in my body. Was you advised to take vit d or is it because yours is low? Mine apparently is very low.

It’s not looking good for me is it low vit d and low progesterone 😂 do you know any natural ways to up progesterone?

Manuka honey is sooo good for so many things but expensive no? In fact you must spend a lot on supplements! Hopefully you will get your BFP very soon you’ve defo put in the leg work x

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm taking pregnacare vitamins which is meant to cover everything we need pre-conception and during pregnancy plus I'm exercising maybe 2 times a week. I'm trying to cut down my sugar intake as a bit of a addict. Sugar is meant to impact egg quality.

@Constance1234 great tip about losing a bit of weight, I'll have a go! I'm trying to keep fit generally and I'm a healthy weight so I'll see if eating a bit better and cutting out sugar can help me loose a bit of weight!

tinyole · 11/07/2019 18:47

Ahhhhhhhh 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

AF is due tomorrow and I've been testing everyday (obsessive I know) and I think I can see I faint line. Please tell me I'm not dreaming. I'm ready for the truth either so don't worry if you can't see it.

If AF doesn't show up tomorrow I'll keep testing

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:48

@tinyole how are you finding pregnacare? Are you having any side affects? I read somewhere it made pee illuminous 😂 it did make me a bit brighter I must say.

Cutting sugar and weight loss is a good idea @Constance1234 that 5% thing is interesting, do you go to gym?

Sorry to bang on about it BUT I’ve had the thought of this: I apparently have no other issues other than low vit d and low progesterone, both are completely treatable and GP did say she would refer to gynaecologist if needed so there is hope! Sorry just had to get that out there 😂

I also forgot to ask you guys if there was any issues for you? X

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:49

@tinyole OMG I can see a faint line in the first pic!!

How are you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:51

@tinyole I had a feeling it was your month 🤗

OP posts:
tinyole · 11/07/2019 18:53

@AllHopeAndNoResults I feel fine! I was feeling terrible this time last week. Loads of nausea and exhausted but it was gone by Sunday and I assumed I just had the flu. Had stomach ache yesterday but I'm slightly lactose intolerant and I had too much dairy so think it was that. Only thing that's different is I feel really sticky below but I think that's the pre-drip sensation you get before AF arrives. I'm heading out to buy more tests I've almost run out 😂😂

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 18:58

@tinyole 😂😂 this is where you buy the whole shelf of tests!

Thing is AF is due tomorrow so you might not get a darker line yet, but I know you must be so anxious to keep testing.

I’m so pleased for you, I don’t want to give my congratulations just yet because I’ve seen all sorts on Mumsnet with faint lines and I don’t want to get your hopes up just incase our line eyes are deceiving us! Hopefully not though!!

Eeeeek this time tomorrow you should know for sure! I am going to be itching to ask you!! Xx

OP posts:
tinyole · 11/07/2019 19:09

@AllHopeAndNoResults I know right. I don't want to get any hopes up until I get a solid line that hangs around. I've seen faint lines come and go. Even if this baby doesn't stick it's encouraging to know I can do it. So exciting. Just putting on my shoes to go stock up 😂🙈

How are you feeling? You're so right there's loads going for you and I feel like SMEP is going to do it for you. I'll have another drowse through my book tonight to see if I can see more about low progesterone that might help. Are you taking vitamins? I haven't noticed anything about my wee 🧐

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 19:14

@tinyole it’s the hardest part isn’t it? But at least you only have one day until AF.

I am feeling fine just the usual periody stuff and my moods are up and down 😂 poor dp. I’m actually more excited to see your result! I told you I was invested 😉

I only take folic acid and vit d was thinking of doing iron. Yeah that’s what I heard on Mumsnet actually about the pee 😂😂

What’s AVA saying? Has it given any info to suggest pregnancy?
Please keep me updated and I have everything crossed for you xx

OP posts:
tinyole · 11/07/2019 19:22

@AllHopeAndNoResults thanks hun and likewise 🤗

My chart with natural cycles says AF due tomorrow but Ava says Monday so the big test will be Monday even if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow. I'm definitely loving Ava so far. Loving the stats but to be honest it's why I'm still not convinced I'm pregnant. Your temp is meant to stay high if you're pregnant and mine has definitely dropped a bit since yesterday but admittedly not as low as it usually goes when AF shows up. Will just keep checking and keep everything crossed.

Have you tried any pregnancy specific vitamins? If this isn't my month then I'm also open to trying complimentary medicines too. I was listening today about detoxing your surroundings to reduce the influence of artificial chemicals on your fertility hormones so avoiding strong deodorants/cleaning products etc. I know I going overboard but when I do something I go 100% in 😂😂

AllHopeAndNoResults · 11/07/2019 19:32

@tinyole if I was you I’d follow AVA too, seems as though it’s reliable. Do you think if you aren’t pregnant this time then AVA will definitely give you a step up for next month? Do you just wear it when you sleep? I’m really considering getting one, what else can you tell me 😂😂

I’m not on any specific pregnancy supplements as I just don’t think they worked for me. I made more lifestyle changes for eg stopped smoking, no alcohol, drink more water and try to eat more healthy.

I don’t think you’re going overboard at all, I watched a video on YouTube today that even drinking water out of a plastic bottle can affect fertility. The thing is how far are we willing to go? It’s a lot of hard work for us when for some people you only have to look at them and they are pregnant!
We have to change our entire lives it seems.

Well hopefully for you this month is yours! Do you think you will try for another one straight after? I think I’ll keep going in those crucial 6 weeks just incase I’m not taking any chances 😂😂 xx

Skyla01 · 11/07/2019 19:45

@tinyole I see a faint line! Really hope this is your BFP. You'll need to retest in a day or too! It'll be interesting to here if your ava can work out if your pregnant.

Vitamin wise I'm only taking folic acid and a cheap multivitamin. My diet is fairly healthy already. I'm actually trying to eat a bit more as my bmi is only around 20 so don't want it to fall any lower in case that could interfere with fertility.

I'd quite like to try reflexology. I've been vaguely interested for a while and I know you can ask them to work on your fertility, so might look in to that if I'm still trying in while.

tinyole · 11/07/2019 19:54

Well ladies that may have been short lived. Just went to the toilet and had some blood when I wiped. I'm still hopeful it's an implantation bleed. It's not over yet!!
