Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

@AllHopeAndNoResults I haven't started a symptom diary because I think that'll make me obsess over it even more and ultimately the only thing which will confirm anything would be a BFP/AF if you see what I mean?

@Makingawish yeah I know what you mean. I think either way we are going to obsess about something whether it’s symptoms or poas and we have to choose our battles 😂😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults I agree! I wonder how we'll feel if we get really poorly when we finally get our BFP's. We'll be cursing our current selves 😂 anyway I've just been for lunch so even if I'm not pregnant I sure as hell look it right now 🐷

@Makingawish ditto with the lack of symptoms and just feeling like it won't happen! I'm actually willing all symptoms to stay away because if I get any early next week it will probably mean AF on the way (I'm due Thursday). But keeping positive so even if she does arrive we'll start gearing up for smep cycle 2, and I'll enjoy a few beverages over the weekend!

@AllHopeAndNoResults I can understand your frustrations with opk. I was getting pretty fed up / down after 9 days of flashing smiley then bam static and I'm all happy again! This process can be a bit of a rollercoaster. If you decide to use opk again I would still suggest you try cb, results are, well, clearer! I think ovusense might be good too, I've heard good reviews from other ppl with irregular cycles. I'm also eager to hear from tinyole & Paris!

@VenusStarr that's a lovely strong line you have there! Chuffed for you. Hope another one of us can join you with a bfp!

@Skyla01 you make a good point actually! Being symptomless is probably a good thing though I wouldn't be getting AF symptoms yet either but maybe I would next week. Are you not tempted to test now with a FRER?!

@Makingawish I've never used a frer. I have onestep tests that are fairly sensitive but not that good. I'd rather just wait for AF than have the double whammy of BFN and AF. Are you going to be testing soon?

@Skyla01 I feel like I'd be more upset just seeing AF without already having had a BFN but each to their own of course. I'm going to test on Friday/Saturday which will be 12/13dpo I think 🤞

Omg ladies look!! The darkest I’ve had so far!! So the app says low score would you say I’m ovulating though???

@Makingawish @Skyla01 I’ve always been told when you are actually pregnant you will know and you won’t have to squint for a positive line on a test.

I obviously know this 😂 but that time comes and you throw all logic out the window. I must say when I peed on a stick with ds it was a definite positive after the day before was a negative. So I think you are all right and I admire your will power and strength. 🤞 for us all!!

@AllHopeAndNoResults I had this really weird feeling before when I was out where I just 'felt' pregnant. Not through any symptoms, just a weird feeling 🙈 I'm going mad.

That's such a strong OPK but take it again more focused and I bet you'll get a higher result! That looks similar to my one which gave me a result over 1. You were right about your CM yesterday. Tell your DP you have to do the 3 consecutive nights from tonight. I dare you 😂

@Makingawish I had that last month don’t trick yourself until you can test 😂

But on a serious note a lot of women got that ‘feeling’ so it could be a good sign have you been tracking anything else?

So would you say this is my time?? If so then Friday I’ll offically been in the TWW eeek!

@AllHopeAndNoResults I've honestly not really had any other symptoms apart from maybe being a bit crampy earlier on in the week for a couple of days.

I'd say you'll probably ovulate today/tomorrow so your TWW will start Tuesday will it not?

Do you usually get cramping around this time for AF?

So when shall I do the 3 nights in a row? I’m confused 😂

@Makingawish I thought Friday because of the extra day for luck?

@AllHopeAndNoResults no, if I ever get AF cramping it's on the first day of my actual period. I'd say today is the day you take as your positive test so today would be day 1 but you've already DTD the last 2 nights haven't you so maybe miss tonight and just do tomorrow and Tuesday? Give them swimmers time to replenish!

I am not trying to conceive!! But in case you didn't hear the radio prog the other day, they mentioned two things. One, to have sex whenever, not just linked to ovulation as this keeps the sperm active and two, a fertilty doctor used to tell patients they had no chance of conceiving so that they would relax and most then got pregnant ( the second surprised me as it seems unethical). @AllHopeAndNoResults I don't think the extra day for luck means you only start your TWW any later, it's more on the off chance that you could have ovulated a tiny bit later but don't count on it. That's my understanding anyway. Your TWW should be as usual, the day after you've ovulated.

@Makingawish so that’s a good sign because you defo are not due on tomorrow. Omg I have such positive vibes for you right now!

Right so my 3 days start today! I’m finally there 😂 I still remember your AF is due on my birthday 😏 so I’m tracking right along with you girl

@Mammajay thanks for the tips! I think we have all dtd a lot more than usual this month 😂 we all pushed through the heat!

@OP that's looks like a good opk to me! Although I've never used them... But the line looks dark! I would try DTD from tonight for 3 if you can manage. 0.79 is pretty close to being a 1.
