Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think you are supposed to use it every time but you might not need as much as the suggested amount. If it’s anything like conceive plus then a little bit goes a long way! I only had a 30g bottle of that and still have some left after 2 cycles x

@Makingawish how much do you think I should use then? The leaflet says most women use between 2 and 3 ml or whatever it is but that seems like a hell of a lot tbh x

@allhopenoresults I guess it's better late than never, you'll lose nothing by starting whenever you get them. Where did you order yours from?

How was your weekend anyway?

@AllHopeAndNoResults from what I’ve read, most people start with 1ml and go from there. I guess it’s personal preference because aside from it increasing sperm viability, it’s supposed to make the whole experience more comfortable/pleasant so it depends what works best for you both x

I Was hoping for a shorter cycle this month but cd24 and don't think I've ovulated yet. Hopefully it's close so DTD every other day. I've found a website for someone near me who does fertility complementary therapies including reflexology so I might give them a shout if/when next af shows.

Morning everyone. Looks like I did ovulate yesterday, my temperature stayed up today, just need tomorrow to confirm and I'll officially be in my tww. Hoping we've done enough 🤞 how strange that I can pinpoint my ovulation this cycle to a 3 hour window!

I've got a reflexology consultation next week @Skyla01. Am looking forward to it.

Morning ladies! I will reply to each individual with specifics lol but I just wanted to quickly say to you all:

It looks like some of you will be in the TWW soon and I know it can be a tense time and can feel like the longest two weeks of your life, it would be great if you all got your BFPs straight away this month, but I want you all to remember not to feel defeated if it doesn’t happen this month!

We are fresh into the plan and it might just take a few months to get the hang of it and dtd and the right time.

Although I have every faith you will all produce sticky babies this month (wooohooo!) I just wanted to share to keep the good vibes up. Have a lovely day ladies and I’ll be back when my morning is less busy 😂 x

@Skyla01 I know how it can be just squinting hoping to see lines on tests and monitoring every ‘new’ twinge in hope it’s implantation. Well that obsessive behaviour might just be me 😂😂

I’ve done a lot of thinking and I’ve decided I am going to try out AC and preseed on its own rather than go down the GP route at the moment. I’ll give it 6months and if nothing still then I’ll go back to GP. At least if I DO get pregnant than I know for sure it was the natural way that helped.

Any updates from anyone?

@AllHopeAndNoResults your positive vibes have worked for me- flashing smiley this morning but I had lots of fertile cm through the day so tested again once i got home- static smiley (I.e. peak fertility)!! So excited! That probably means ovulation tomorrow so will be busy DTD for another day or two.

When are you going to start Agnus castus? I think it's worth trying yourselves a while longer. A lot of fertility is unexplained, just takes time. Sounds like you have a good plan!

@VenusStarr I'm well thanks babe and you? Ava and natural cycles have predicted two different ovulation dates and my ovulation tests have blown them both off so I'm just DTD in the regular this week and I'm tired already 😂

The bloody AC still hasn’t arrived grrr! But I plan to start as soon as it does. I had a ‘sexy’ evening planned for me and DP as it’s been a while and I know he has to be empty with fresh swimmers 🤦🏻‍♀️ But he has been irritating me since being home from work so not sure how this plan will end 😂

Are you and DP/DH doing anything nice for the run up? 😂 sexual details aside of course 😳😳😂😂

@Skyla01 I had a positive opk test on CD10 and CD11 which totally threw my predicted ovulation out the window. Been hastily trying to DTD since but will have to see what happens.

A couple cycles ago my body tried to ovulate on day 12 but then it delayed it to day 16 so I'm wondering if this is going to happen again 🙄

@AllHopeAndNoResults no idea it's so frustrating. I'm trying not to focus on it and just enjoy DTD with my husband. If I ovulate today or tomorrow great. If a few days later great. Whatever happens happens 🤷🏾‍♀️

Morning all. My ovulation has been confirmed by fertility friend, although it's put it as cd10 which was sunday? I think it was Monday personally.

Do you think we still need to dtd on Thursday (the extra one) if it was Sunday, my thinking is the egg is hopefully busy with a sperm now. Feeling like we didn't do enough 😔

@tinyole I think your ava would be able to confirm ovulation in a few days by looking at your temp (like @VenusStarr)? It'll be interesting to know if it's accurate! I have definitely heard of people having two LH surge a few days apart so you're right that could be you. Good luck!

@VenusStarr I guess an extra DTD can't hurt. Probably a good idea just in case! I think we'll be trying to DTD for another 3 nights to cover the whole fertile window. Then we can have a break ;)

How is anybody managing to DTD (doing the deed) in this heat?! I’m starting day 1 of SMEP tonight and I’m dreading it already! Think I’ll put my bedsheets in the freezer beforehand 🤣

@VenusStarr morning, I agree with what’s already been said dtd an extra day won’t hurt and it’ll just give you a bit more of a push in the right direction.

Everyone is really tracking hard, It’s so frustrating trying to pin point one day isn’t it?

@Makingawish @Skyla01 our ‘romantic’ night took a natural turn last night. We had the most amazing, beautiful storm after a very very hot day so I think that helped 😂 he knows I am so relaxed in a storm and where we over look the water it was AMAZING

@tinyole any luck with regulating a bit? My AC arrives Friday so I am just writing off this months TWW as if I haven’t even dtd do you know what I mean.

I honestly feel I’m putting all my hopes on to that because I’m convinced I don’t ovulate and I know it helps you ovulate. Fingers crossed 🤞
