Hey,

I'm not sure if/when i ovulated as I have PCOS. Currently cd24 of an average 35 day cycle. Had EWCM days 11 and 17 so DTD just incase. Got docs tomorrow for blood test prior to fertility referral. Hoping I won't need the appointment when it comes through 🤞. When do you plan on testing? X

FairyDustSprinkles · 03/07/2019 21:09

Hey! I am on CD21 I have also had ECWM on the days you have . Fingers crossed you won’t need the appointment I plan on testing next Sunday when my period is due or test on Wednesday with a FIrst response hoping this is the month Grin

Hi @FairyDustSprinkles 👋🏻 I’m also TTC first baby, cycle 3, and 4/5 dpo! The TWW is driving me crazy already!

FairyDustSprinkles · 03/07/2019 21:24

@MrsS147 hello and yay!! Are you having any symptoms? I am eating so much food all of a sudden like intense hunger in trying not to symptom spot but can't help it !

@FairyDustSprinkles I really hope we both get our BFPs this month 🤞 do you use OPKs to track ovulation? They don't work for me and I don't get any signs of ovulation so it's a bit of a guessing game for me 😔 hoping the cm is a good sign tho. AF isn't due for me until 14th/15th so got AGES to go. Will prob start testing from this weekend tho as I have no patience or willpower 😂 x

MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 05:38

@FairyDustSprinkles not had any symptoms other than on and off sensitive nipples, but I think my head is making it up! Really trying not to symptom spot too!
Have you tried anything different this cycle?

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 06:50

@UnapologeticallyUnsociable I have heard OPKs are not always reliable too I use them and get ovulation symptoms mainly the horrid pain in my left side and CM but some months I think I've not ovulated so not too sure what is going on in the there . My period is due 14th too let's keep each other up dated x

OP posts:
FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 06:55

@MrsS147 the only thing I changed this is I used the clearblue advanced ovulation tests ( the blue pack ) i got a few days of high fertility and 2 days of peak so I DTD for 9 days straight starting on CD 8. I done SMEP last month and month before but didn't work . Usually I use boots OV strips but can't read these properly x

OP posts:
MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 07:49

@FairyDustSprinkles hopefully that method works for you 🤞🏻You managed to get a lot of DTD in! We DTD Sunday PM, Wednesday PM and Saturday AM with positive OPK on Friday AM. DH has a low sex drive and find it hard enough to convince him to do it then without trying to do it more 😔
I’ve just stuck to cheapie OPKs as they seem to work for me so far! I used preseed this cycle for the first time so hopefully that gives me some luck 🤞🏻

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 08:55

@MrsS147 you covered all of the key days that's the most important thing . I got my positive on Thursday and Friday so I think we are on identical days Smile
I think for some men as soon as they know it's the fertile week it stresses them out so I do my sticks in secret Grinhe hasn't known a thing and this way it keeps things fun even though TTC is not very fun when all you want to see is BFP x

OP posts:
FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 09:02

@MrsS147 I bought pressed and used it on month 1 but I naturally produce a lot of CM all the time tmi Blush) so it was just too messy with the preseed in addition Grin

@FairyDustSprinkles let's definitely keep each other updated, although now I'm now Hoping not to be pregnant this month. Just been to the nurse for my MMR (needed it done before I could be referred to fertility clinic) and they've said that as it's a live vaccine, it's not safe for pregnant women. We're also to stop trying to conceive for a month 🙈 x

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 10:07

@UnapologeticallyUnsociable oh that makes sense better to put the trying on pause in that case . How long have u been TTC? At what point does the fertility clinic get involved ? Not sure if I am always ovulating I would like some confirmation if possible was looking at some ovulation tracking scan to have a look x

OP posts:
MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 13:52

Does sound like we have identical dates @FairyDustSprinkles !
Yeah DH has told me he no longer wants to know that I’m ovulating until we’ve DTD as it stresses him too much!

I bought the preseed because I’ve felt really dry since TTC! I don’t know if it’s because sex isn’t just for fun any more or because we’re not using condoms any more 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it definitely made things a lot more enjoyable! And hopefully helps with a BFP too!

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 15:36

@MrsS147 yes I think best way is to not tell him when it's your fertile week just pee on your sticks in secret Wink. Two week wait is torture though . My mum keeps saying if u keep thinking about it it won't happen but that's easier said than done x

OP posts:
MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 20:47

@FairyDustSprinkles definitely easier said than done! My mum is such an enabler, was talking about potential due dates and when I’d take maternity leave with her the other day 😂 need someone to stop me, not enable it!!

MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 20:50

Actually reading that back it sounds like I’d be taking maternity leave with my mum 😆 I meant talking with her not actually taking it with her!

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 21:00

@MrsS147 OMG I do the same so I literally look at my calendar and work out when I'd go on maternity leave GrinGringlad to know I'm not alone . I'd want to go on maternity leave at 29 weeks would be nice to be off from work around Christmas . When would u take leave ?

OP posts:
MrsS147 · 04/07/2019 21:15

@FairyDustSprinkles glad to know I’m not alone! Sometimes think I’m crazy thinking about all these things 🤪

I’m thinking of sharing with DH, so I’ll take 9 months plus holidays and he’s take the 3 unpaid months. So if I was to get pregnant now I’d go off the start of March next year and go back after the new year in 2021 which sounds like a good time to go back! Which would be the plan but I guess that may end up changing when it came to the time!

FairyDustSprinkles · 04/07/2019 21:54

@MrsS147 ooooo I didn't know you could share leave that's a nice plan. My last day of work I'll be skipping out of there . I'm trying to not think whether I'm pregnant or not but it's sooo hard not to wonder . All I know is it's sucks when your period comes fingers crossed it stays awaaaaaaaay for us x

OP posts:
MrsS147 · 05/07/2019 07:29

@FairyDustSprinkles yeah I think it’s quite a recent thing that’s come in! It makes sense for us to share as I’m the higher earner and assuming I get pregnant in the next 6 months he’ll still working part time whilst finishing his degree so we wouldn’t be able to afford me having the unpaid time off! Plus I may find it easier going back to work and handing them to DH rather than a nursery!
I know what you mean! It’s so hard not to wonder but not really healthy to either (doesn’t stop me doing it though 😂) Hopefully AF does stay away this month for us both 🤞🏻

UnapologeticallyUnsociable · 05/07/2019 07:45

@FairyDustSprinkles We have been TTC for 13 months. Doctors won't consider a referral until you have been trying at least 12 months (sometimes 18 month depending on age and fertility background). I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19 but only met my DH at 30 hence the later stage of TTC. My GP said to try for 6 months then come back if nothing happened.

Many people used temping and OPKs to track/confirm ovulation. May be worth a try for you x
