@DuvetCaterpillar congratulations!! I'm so happy for you Star fx for you xxx

I think I'm ovulating. Confused as to wether we should dtd and try again this month. Or else just leave it, let AF come and go on holiday in 3 weeks and just have fun and drinks on holiday. Or dtd, get pregnant and have a chilled start to the pregnancy. I'm worrying incase I would have another MC on holiday as they seem to happen at the 6/7 week mark and I'd be away then. Or do I just try and see, as this could be 'third time lucky'? Don't know what to do..

Hope you all are well! It was my birthday at the weekend so took a wee break from MN xx

FirstTimeMama91 · 16/07/2019 20:29

Sorry ladies I posted in the wrong thread lol! Hope you all are well and hopefully I'll be back with you all soon xxx

FirstTimeMama91 · 16/07/2019 20:32

pinkoi · 16/07/2019 20:51

Hey folks,

Arrg 14DPO today temp still high and sore boobs and nausea still so I caved and did a test this evening and got a strong BFP FRER and a really bloody faint but visible one step stick thing (god they are crap).

Partner had a really weird reaction but I think it sort of gave him a flash back to the MC in May and while I'm happy I'm a lot more tentative. But at least I'm not starting off from a load of random bleeding like last time.

Fingers crossed for all of us at what ever stage xx

Pop1234 · 17/07/2019 08:10

Hi everyone.

How are you all?

I've not been on for a while as had a break from TTC. Started again this month and had this ovulation test this morning. Does anyone know if it's positive or if it's faulty? I always use to get a bit of a control line and there is only a test line on this. I think next month I'm going to move on to clear blue.

Avocuddles · 17/07/2019 08:12

Tentative congratulations @pinkoi that's fantastic news!!!! Keep us posted....

@FirstTimeMama91 I guess it depends on how quickly you intend to get pregnant and whether you had any issues getting pregnant in the first place. Based on your username I'd guess that you are 8 or so years younger than me so hopefully plenty of time on your side. As I'm older and have fertility problems including very long cycles I decided against a 'month off' after my miscarriage as time is of the essence. It meant that I spent the first half of my holiday being very cautious (as was in 2WW), but since AF arrived I've enjoyed plenty of holiday wine.....
If your cycles are regular and you haven't had issues conceiving previously then no harm in taking a month off for some me time, fingers crossed it might be the last opportunity you and your partner get....
Ps hope you enjoyed your birthday! x

Mistymeow · 17/07/2019 09:31

@pinkoi so happy for you! I remember the issues you had previously and all the uncertainty- I really hope everything progresses well this time. Hope you’re feeling ok.
@Pop1234 that’s a strange one- looks like it has pulled colour from the control line. I’ve seen that on pregnancy tests before but not opks. You could well have high levels of LH but maybe best to take another test as it could well be faulty. Usually I find the cheapies work very well but have had the odd dud. If you usually ovulate around this time it looks promising.
@FirstTimeMama91 echo pp. Would you feel ok having a month off? Some women would find it distressing that they missed a chance but others find it therapeutic taking a break. No harm at all taking a month off if it feels right and will help you to relax.

I’m starting to get a bit worried about this rmc appointment on Tuesday. It’s nhs with Mr Shehata’s clinic. I don’t really know what to expect and how much the nhs will do for us. Part of me is concerned they will send us away again because we’ve not had 3 miscarriages in a row. Does anyone have rmc experience on the nhs?

ReeReeR · 17/07/2019 10:43

@VenusStarr Sorry you’ve been feeling down too. It’s rubbish. I’m our builder is gone for a week which is not ideal but means we have our house back for a few days.

@InDreamland I’m sorry you’re still feeling anxious. I think that is just how it goes when you’ve had a loss but it would be nice if you got some reassurance at some point. Did you have some news yesterday? Sorry I haven’t been on here a couple of days.

@DuvetCaterpillar @Avocuddles DH and I loved GOT too! It was great escapism for me when I was on mat leave after I lost my baby.

@Pop1234 I think if the control line isn’t there (if that’s the case) then it’s invalid. I’d just do another one.

I’m using Clear Blue connect. I’m on CD12 and fourth day of flashing smiley. You’re supposed to use fmu but I got up at some point in the night (no idea what time it was) to pee but instead tested at about 10 am and wonder if that would have affected my result. It was dark when I woke up (I don’t look at the clock as it can hinder me getting back to sleep) so it should have been a good few hours until I tested at 10 am ish and surely people get up in the night to pee sometimes...

I’ll see if I get a peak and if not assume it might have been today! Or I might try a One Step later.

AliceRR · 17/07/2019 10:56

Oh also do any of your OHs feel the effects of wellman conception? I’ve got DH taking it (only for the past week) and he days it’s like viagra 😂 I don’t know that he’s ever had viagra but it’s making him want to have sex. I’ve tried to explain I don’t think thats what it does do not sure if it’s some kind of placebo effect or maybe it is affecting semen / spark production 🤷🏻‍♀️

AliceRR · 17/07/2019 10:57

Sorry I am back and forth with usernames 😬

FirstTimeMama91 · 17/07/2019 11:09

@Mistymeow @Avocuddles yes I think you're right ladies. We've only ttc twice and got pregnant both times. So I'll just take this month off and have a fun holiday.
I'm seriously thinking I must have a problem with implantation/holding on. Both happened at 6/7 weeks.
There's a girl in my area does a lot of work with acupuncture, fertility massage and chinese herbs but it's costly and I don't want to start paying for things yet. Atleast if I have one more MC then the NHS will investigate. I think I'll just stick to having reflexology and hope that we get a third time lucky rainbow. Thanks for birthday wishes @Avocuddles 😘

Avocuddles · 17/07/2019 11:19

@Mistymeow good luck for your rmc appointment, let us know how you get on.

@AliceRR I love the thought of wellman having an unexpected side effect!!! My DH can't really take any supplements because he has to take a lot of medication for his heart condition which can potentially have interactions. Whether it's a placebo effect or not it can't be a bad thing!

@FirstTimeMama91 I've been having acupuncture and intend to keep it going throughout the first trimester if I manage to get pregnant. It is pretty expensive but it's worth checking out Medicash (or equivalent) - I pay a set amount per month for the Medicash scheme and can claim back up to 50% of acupuncture charges up to a maximum of £350 a year, along with other stuff such as dental fees and glasses / lenses charges. I will more than make my money back so it's worth taking a look - I needed some new glasses so within my first month I received more than £200 back.
Hopefully your rainbow will come soon, but make the most of the opportunity to enjoy yourself this month and try to relax x

FirstTimeMama91 · 17/07/2019 11:21

@Avocuddles I'll definitely look into that. Thanks hun fx for you too x

Lilimum7 · 17/07/2019 14:56

@pinkoi congratulations hun Fx for a h&h pregnancy
@AliceRR lol that gave me a giggle we not tried that brand yet, might have too
@InDreamland how did you get on hun?
@Pop1234 I gave up on the cheaper ones and moved to a combination of clearblue and easy@home ones (these are fab)

As for me 4 dpo and nothing to report as yet

Sweetpea12 · 17/07/2019 15:33

I’m only 4 DPO and the wait is awful! Trying to remain positive and not pin all my hopes on it working this time but still being optimistic Smile

Lilimum7 · 17/07/2019 16:09

@Sweetpea12 Hello cycle buddy 4dpo to 8dpo is just the worst all the waiting drives me mad to early to test and no real symptoms either

Sweetpea12 · 17/07/2019 16:22

@lilimum7 when I was pregnant in May I didn’t have a clue. It sounds silly I put missing a period down to the fact I was stressed from moving to a new job and was on holiday straight after so I feel like I don’t know what to look out for. I think even if I have a BFN i feel a bit happier knowing I started tracking my ovulation and fx we will all get BFP soon

Lilimum7 · 17/07/2019 16:30

@Sweetpea12 that's not strange hun, my first pregnancy happened while taking the pill and I didn't know because I took 2 packs back to back and had no clue either ( it ended with a mmc at an early scan to try and date the pregnancy because of the unusual way it happened) since that pregnancy I've been obsessed about having a baby, so far lots of mc' s but I'm still hopeful I'll get my rainbow

Sweetpea12 · 17/07/2019 16:55

@lilimum7 remaining hopeful is the best way to be. I was shocked to be pregnant as i hadn’t planned it but now it’s made me really want to be pregnant again and almost I’ve a real want for a baby now. With a bit of luck we will all get our rainbows soon

InDreamland · 17/07/2019 19:29

@Russkispy hope all still going well with you. Keeping fx you have a sticky bean in there. I think it's a really positive sign it's a natural conception.

@Avocuddles thank you.

@ReeReeR thank you. Yes, I can update from yesterday, sorry, didn't want to say too much here, especially as I think we're have lurkers who want to keep up with the grads Wink hope you get your peak OPK soon.

@Lilimum7 thanks for asking after me.

So it's good news and all I can say is I'm relieved, for now ......... all looking as it should be but I'm still 3 weeks away from the 12 week mark and the allegedly safer zone. I think we all know the risks here though. Don't think any of us here will relax until we send our rainbow to school.

Anyone itching to test and needing to lock away the tests?

I've been reflecting on comments we tend to make here about wanting to give our DH/DP a child and a lot of us have told them to go find someone else who can give them a baby. Thing is, we are all in some way by saying that placing the responsibility to conceive and carry a baby to term and give birth to a healthy bubba solely on ourselves. It's not always in our control or anything to do with our bodies. I've really battled with this over the past 5-6 years and still do with comments made now by people in my life about how I'm having acupuncture so that is what's helping with this one etc etc and telling me I shouldn't do x, y and z like I did with the last 2. Society always insinuates it's the woman. No no no no no. After getting DH's sperm DNA fragmentation results this year I feel like I've been almost vindicated because I've been carrying all the guilt of infertility and 2 losses. Turns out DH is likely the cause and been taking supplements since February and also the past few months having acupuncture too. I think what I'm trying to say is try not to feel like it's solely down to you. It takes two. Obviously I'm not saying your DP is the cause of the issues for certain but he could be a contributory factor. The urologist we have seen actually said he believes from the work he's done that a lot of unexplained infertility or miscarriages could be solved by testing the man and he said it's actually quite common for it to be the man. He said so much £ could be saved by looking at man's sperm DNA too rather than going straight to IVF or people experiencing recurrent mc. Sorry I'm rambling and sounding off. I just feel so strongly about it.

FirstTimeMama91 · 17/07/2019 21:08

@InDreamland that's 100% true. I went to Holland and Barrett today to buy his and hers conception supplements. We're both going to focus on improving our diets, more greens etc. Bought flax seed and super greens powder for making smoothies. You're right, we put too much pressure and responsibility on ourselves.
So glad to hear things are well with you. I'm sure you can't wait to get to 12 weeks it'll be another milestone Smile but as you say we will all be worrying until our little ones are Atleast safely in our arms! X

Navy123 · 18/07/2019 09:30

@InDreamland so glad things are looking well. Really interesting what you are saying - how did you get your DHs sperm tests done, were they nhs or did you have to go private?

InDreamland · 19/07/2019 10:00

@FirstTimeMama91 I'd love to get to 12 weeks but all I can do is try get through one day at a time. Hoping this one sticks. Hope you get your rainbow BFP soon 🤞

@Navy123 we had to go private as NHS don't do those tests. NHS only do basic volume and motility from our experience so to get the more detailed look at the quality we had the DNA fragmentation test through the Lister clinic in London (there are other clinics that do it). Check out Sperm Comet for info on the theory and science behind it. I found it really interesting to read and certainly gives another possible reason/cause for some couples facing unexplained infertility or mc. When we went to the clinic initially it was because I wanted NK cell testing but the doctor there talked me out of it and then when DHs results came back that helped with the decision.

ReeReeR · 19/07/2019 17:24

I’m glad you’re doing well @InDreamland

And you’re right that the emphasis is so often placed on women and I think we have a tendency to blame ourselves when it comes to pregnancy and conception

I got a +ve OPK Wednesday evening and my static smiley on CB yesterday morning so I’m guessing I probably ovulated yesterday.

Been so stressed that I worry I’m too stressed to conceive but then I think who really isn’t stressed at all in this life?

DH still loving his “viagra vitamins” 😂

Hope everyone else is ok

Squiff70 · 20/07/2019 08:38
