@ELW85 and @Lozzlepop thinking of you both. I hope everything works out ok.

So my temps dropped a couple of days ago and I have had 2 days of brown spotting. I assumed af is on the way. My nipples are looking very strange. The areole (spelling?) are massive with white spots on them. I’m concerned as my nipples have never looked like that before.

I doubt I am pregnant as my temps have dropped and stayed low for three days. Have any of you ever experienced this before?

PippaPug · 17/07/2019 09:07

@Lozzlepop can you get to A and e or evenness they EPU? Sending lots of love to you xxx

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 09:07

Thanks ladies, trying to get through to the EPU for advice, I would rather go there than A&E DP is at home and the car is at an out of town park and ride so would rather drive home and get hime and head through there than go to the A&E here by myself, think they open at 9am so will try again shortly.

MrsEG · 17/07/2019 09:12

@Lozzlepop Do go to the EPU if you can. Is it a walk-in? Mine is, so you can just turn up. I hope everything is okay xx

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 09:20

@MrsEG I actually have no idea, last time I had to make appointments each time I went but i'm not sure for emergencies 🤷🏽‍♀️

LokiCat · 17/07/2019 09:23

@Lozzlepop that's understandable, I would DH with me as well if had to go.
Maybe it's worth just going anyway and seeing what they say, if you can't get through to them on the phone?
Mine isn't walk in, you have to be referred by GP or A&E. I hope everything is okay ❤️

ELW85 · 17/07/2019 09:30

@Lozzlepop - keeping everything crossed for you ❤️ You’re bordering on 6 weeks from what I remember, so hopefully they’ll just do an early scan for you xx

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 09:38

@ELW85 I will be 6 weeks tomorrow, how are you feeling? xx

Macbless · 17/07/2019 09:51

@lozzlepop even if you don’t go to A&E it really doesn’t sound like work is the right place. Hope you are at home being looked after xxx

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 10:15

I just really can't believe that this might happen again

ELW85 · 17/07/2019 10:59

@Lozzlepop - they’ll definitely scan you in that case, so it might be reassuring to go and see them? I’d say to ring the EPU and they’ll tell you to go in, and what they’ll do.
God I feel awful for you. This is so freaking horrendous to go through.
Wish I could give you a massive hug ❤️
I’m feeling ok-ish. Have decided to stop reading the internet articles as it’s not going to change anything and everyone is different.

The midwives If you aren’t having pain and it’s not like a really heavy period in flow and colour, then it’s likely to not be anything.

The way that I see it though is that nothing but a scan/tests will give you reassurance, so you’re best off going in.

Sending lots of love your way xx

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 11:20

@ELW85 I called them, got an appointment tomorrow morning unless the bleeding gets worse or something else which I now can’t remember 🙈 told my boss (whose baby is due any day and I kept almost having a wobble every time it was mentioned) and he told me to go home so headed home and thankful that DP is off this week! I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I feel like things are getting worse so it’s not looking great! Yes the googling is the worst! I hope you are doing ok? Xx

LokiCat · 17/07/2019 11:22

@Lozzlepop I wish there was something I could say that could make you feel better, I think the best people to give you answers are the hospital. I know it's so difficult to stay positive right now, but I'm hoping so much for you and @ELW85 that everything is okay.
I'm glad you're getting to go home at least. Curl up with DP and I hope you're able to relax xxx

@ELW85 sorry I missed your message earlier - brown spotting is very promising, I hope it doesn't get worse.
Sorry you have to be at work, but I hope you manage to get away early!

Lots and lots of hugs and love for you both ❤️

ELW85 · 17/07/2019 11:30

@LokiCat - thank you for such a lovely message; your kind words mean so much as always ❤️

I’m feeling ‘ok’ about it. In my head, the only thing I can control is how I react to it and so I can’t be the reason that I raise my own blood pressure with stress cos that’s the only thing that is guaranteed to make this worse.
It’s the hardest thing in the world to do, but I’m distracting myself with work and talking to all of you really, really helps.

@Lozzlepop - I’m so pleased you’ve got your scan booked in. Remember if the bleeding gets worse or you’re in pain, go in straight away.
I’m so pleased you’re home. I hope your DP is ok? It’s just an awful situation. I know it’s near impossible to not have it worry you senseless and occupy every thought, but do whatever you need to try and distract yourself.
I’m sending every good vibe and hug your way. I hope more than anything you’re fine, and I’m sure tomorrow will give you some hope towards that xx

Maisy24 · 17/07/2019 12:16

@Lozzlepop @ELW85 holding you are both ok and thinking of you both in work. Praying everything is ok for you both xxxx

ELW85 · 17/07/2019 12:39

Thank you so much @Maisy24. Not been the best couple of days but would be lost without you guys x

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2019 12:57

@LokiCat thank you so much lovely, I am home and on the sofa now just trying to keep my mind off it really at the minute as I know at this stage there’s nothing I can do but hope!

@ELW85 thanks hun! DP is stronger than me and getting me to remain positive as at this stage we don’t know anything which is very true. Thanks so much for your kind words it really means a lot, sending a big hug your way too, did you manage to speak with the midwife?

@MrsEG do you mind me asking how you found your consultant? I was having a nosy on the way home but I’m not really sure what I’m looking for or what my best course of action is should things not progress this time?

@Maisy24 thank you so much lovely ❤️

Hope you are all having a good day!

JM0934 · 17/07/2019 12:58

Hi Ladies Smile

I'm new here!

Me and my husband have just started trying for our first baby! Thought I would come on here and gain some experience and advice from everyone. (and also just to chat with people who are on the same boat! Grin)

This is only our first TTC and to be honest, I don't even know if I have tracking my ovulation date correctly. Hmm I've been using my FitBit app to track my dates, and got those strips to check for the past few days, but they were never darker than the test line (like they say on the packaging) so we've tried it anyway - I'll wait for a couple of weeks before I do a pregnancy test (I doubt this will happen first time but I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!)

It's hard for us to do it regularly as my husband works away Monday - Friday so I'm worried that it will take us forever to get pregnant. Sad We try to keep an open mind about this as we are both fairly young (I'm 26 and he is coming up 29) but with our friends getting pregnant and having babies, it's making us want it even more! plus it doesn't help that I'm a very impatient person lol!

How long has everyone been trying?

xxxx

MrsEG · 17/07/2019 13:04

@Lozzlepop so glad you’re able to get to the EPU. In my experience around 6 weeks they’ll check your HCG levels and probably do an exam, and then if the levels are high enough they scan you the next day. They don’t like scanning are 6 weeks if HCG isnt too high yet as it means you might not see much, so don’t worry if they don’t offer it immediately. It’s still just really early. fingers crossed, you’ll have some real reassurance soon.
My consultant is the head of the recurrent miscarriage clinic at my hospital - where you get referred after three consecutive losses. I googled her like mad and then a friend told me she had a private clinic locally so I booked in there which really sped up the process.
I really hope it won’t come to that for you my love; but if you wanted to know who you’d need, it’s best googling the RCM at your hospital and see if you can find the name of the lead consultant. But I really hope you won’t need it x

ELW85 · 17/07/2019 13:46

@Lozzlepop - so pleased you’re resting up and your DP is being so supportive :)
The midwife still wants me to see her tomorrow to register the pregnancy and she’s booking us in for an early scan too.
She basically said that I’d know about it if I was miscarrying as it would go from the brown spotting I’ve had to a full period red flow and it would be really painful, so I’m just keeping everything crossed she’s right.

From everything I’ve read, if it’s before 8 weeks, home pregnancy tests will show as negative before bleeding starts or certainly after, so I’m tempted to do one when I get home xx

newgirl89 · 17/07/2019 13:50

@JM0934 welcome to the group. I'm also pretty new here! This is literally our 1st month trying. I am day 15.
So far only using an app to track my cycle. I'm trying to exercise regularly. Eat healthier. Drink less alcohol and caffeine. And of course DTD regularly!
I'm nervous that it will very quickly take over my life as I am a) a bit obsessive b) impatient.
I am hoping to give it 6 months of tracking / learning my cycle / regularly DTD hoping for the best. Then will look at maybe temping / opk sticks.
Maybe I am being silly. But we also want to enjoy the process if we can.
If anyone has better idea than me. Please tell me :) I'm not easily offended.

X

newgirl89 · 17/07/2019 13:51

@Lozzlepop I have got everything crossed for you. Rest this afternoon. Eat what makes you happy. Have a cuddle. Get an early night. We are all here for you x

JM0934 · 17/07/2019 14:01

@newgirl89 I'm glad you are in the same position as me! Grin I know what you mean about taking over your life as I'm feeling the same! All I think about now is trying to get pregnant! I even got a bit upset last night because I have a feeling this month won't happen... how silly!!!!!!

Good luck to you!!!

newgirl89 · 17/07/2019 14:13

@JM0934 what contraception were you using before? If you read back through this and online it is very uncommon to get pregnant in the first 6 months. GPs often don't do further investigations until you have been trying for at least a year.

I know exactly how you feel. But. For now. Try to enjoy Trying. You don't want to have it take over on month one. When it could take longer.

Life has to keep going (keep telling myself that!) don't put anything off because you might a) be pregnant or b) have a baby.

Would be much better to cancel plans than it would to never make them! X

JM0934 · 17/07/2019 14:30

@newgirl89 I was on the pill for years but came off it last January and have been using condom since then!

I totally understand it’s normally to not get pregnant straight away. One of my friends got pregnant the first month, so I guess there’s a little hope inside me wishing we would be the same but I’m not gonna be too disappointed if we don’t! Like you said, life has to keep going!! X
