Hi ladies!!

I’m new here :) my partner & I have made the very exciting decision to start ttc! I came off my pill about 2 weeks ago now and have been dtd as much as possible. Just wondered if any other ladies are in a similar position and want to buddy up?? It can be so overwhelming thinking about it all and I want to stay as calm as possible :)

Hi @HoneyBee833 my husband and I just started TTC this month too. It is daunting but MN offers a wealth of knowledge and support so you've come to the right place!

When is your AF due? Will you be testing soon?

It can get very stressful and consuming TTC so my advice would be (assuming you're not in a desperate rush) to just enjoy the journey and don't overthink it. You can always look into using OPKs and temping further down the line if you need to x

HoneyBee833 · 15/06/2019 20:38

Hi Elen!

Well I was on Cerelle and didn't have periods whilst I was on it so that's the hard part - I have no idea when AF due or when or if I'm ovulating. I'm not testing anything yet because I just want to have the whole go with the flow approach but it's amazing how much it takes over your mind!

How are things going for you?? X

I'm kind of in the same boat, I have PCOS so not sure when, or even if, I'm ovulating. I have a docs appointment next week to have a chat with them.

I've been tracking my cycle with Ovia for about 8 months so going with their predicted fertile window/ovulation date just now. If it's correct (which it probably isn't), I'm 12dpo today. Done a test this morning but got a BFN. According to Ovia, AF was due today but I've been spotting for over a week and it only stopped today so not really sure what's going on.

Will probably test again tomorrow with an Internet cheapie and leave my FRER until Monday x

HoneyBee833 · 15/06/2019 21:12

Oh sorry to hear that!

Good news that AF hasn't arrived!!

Sending lots of luck to you! Keep me posted :) x

We've just started trying as well. AF due on the weekend so have to wait to do a test, it's so hard waiting! X

HoneyBee833 · 15/06/2019 21:21

Hi Cat!

This weekend or next?? Hope it doesn't come for you!! Sending you lots of baby dust!! X

Catmonks1 · 15/06/2019 21:26

Hiya Honeybee, next weekend so still a wait. First month of trying so not hoping too much (secretly am because impossible not to!)
I'm also trying to work out how to use this chat so hope I'm doing it right!
How long have you been with you partner? X sending baby dust right back at ya!

xELENx · 15/06/2019 21:46

Thanks @HoneyBee833 good luck to you too and I will definitely keep you update :) x

Hello, me and DH made the decision this month to start out TTC journey. I’m currently on CD15 AF is due around end of the month/beginning of July. Not 100% sure, I’ve been using some cheap opks I got off amazon but have not had a clear positive yet so I’m basing everything around cramps/EWCM at the moment. I’m not temping yet, but will consider it if nothing has happened in a few months.

It’s exciting to have the talk, isn’t it. I’m not expecting anything straight away and know it can take months but there’s that part of you that wonders is this it?

Fingers crossed for everyone x

HoneyBee833 · 16/06/2019 19:25

Hi Cat, Elen & Laura!!

Sorry I'm late replying been a busy weekend!

I've been with my partner for just over 12 months but we've been friends since we were 12 so he's no stranger haha! How about you??

Yes definitely secretly hoping but not expecting anything just so hard not knowing when AF due and if I'm actually ovulating yet?!

Glad you have a rough idea of things Laura, certainly makes things a bit easier although I bet you're counting down the days to do a test! X

Hi @HoneyBee833 , welcome to mums net! I am fairly new to ttc, although feel like it's half taken over my life already! A relaxed approach is good! I was on a pill similar to cerelle, and didn't bleed either. After stopping it took 8 wks to get 1st period! And during that time I had lots of hormonal symptoms like cramps and nausea, which can mimic pregnancy. Every body is different though- some people get pregnant straight off the pill, others don't get a cycle back for many months. I hope you fall in to the first camp! It can be confusing at first, and lots of period symptoms like nausea can mimic pregnancy symptoms. Good luck!

Lauralozzle · 17/06/2019 06:41

@HoneyBee833 I have a little while until I can test. Not testing until July (if I can keep strong!)

I’ve been with DH for nearly 13 years - married for just over 1.5 years (been together since I was 18).

Bezalelle · 17/06/2019 08:07

Hello!

DP and I have just started TTC too. I'm not going to talk to anyone in "real life" about it just yet, for fear of jinxing it, but would love to chat on here with MNers who are in the same boat.

Pretty sure I ovulated last night, although my Flo tracker predicts Tues/Weds. DTD last night and Saturday night, so fingers crossed.

Friends27 · 17/06/2019 10:06

Hi Bezalelle!

I'm completely in the same boat, don't want to talk to friends or family about it as we don't want any pressure on ourselves and as amazing as DP is, its so different for us ladies actually going through this!

Is this your first month TTC?

Bezalelle · 17/06/2019 10:59

Hi Friends27!

Yes - this is our first month. We've been together just over a year, but known each other for about 2 years. I've just turned 38 so we decided not to wait any longer.

We've not exactly been careful with contraception for the past few months (pull-out method!) but this is our first month of actually TTC.

RoseRRob · 17/06/2019 16:05

Hello everyone (name change for Cat), so hard not to test early or get your hopes up! We're off on our honeymoon on Thursday so hoping for some holiday luck. X

Bezalelle · 17/06/2019 18:23

Good luck RoseRRob. Enjoy your honeymoon!

xELENx · 17/06/2019 18:57

Hi @HoneyBee833 how are you doing? I tested again this morning with a FRER as planned and got anither BFN 😔 I'm 14dpo today and still no sign of AF (which is 2/3 days late) so I'm taking it that my weird spotting last week was some kind of early period (although it was nothing like my usual). Not going to cling on to false hope so will do one more IC in a couple of days and if that's still BFN then I'll be on to cycle #2 x

HoneyBee833 · 17/06/2019 19:45

Sorry to hear that Elen!! But the late AF sounds like a good sign, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you hopefully if you try again in a couple of days you'll get the result we all want!

I'm ok yeah, work is stressful and still finding it frustrating not actually knowing what's going on with my body but I feel silly moaning after such a short space of time!

Nice to see some new ladies here too! Have a lovely honeymoon Rose! X

wannabemama0812 · 17/06/2019 19:52

Hello, ladies.
This is my first "proper" cycle of TTC, too.

My cycles vary and are 30 days on average, but I'm not sure when I ovulate (my last cycles were 32, 26 and 31 days).

I use the Clue period tracker and have bought some digital OPKs to try to gain some clarity. Do you just use them every morning until you get a smiley face?

Clue says I am in my FW now based on my averages, but I suppose it's difficult to be sure.

wannabemama0812 · 17/06/2019 19:54

@Bezalelle We must have the same predictions for this month - that is when Clue predicts my ovulation, too. It's nice to have somebody else at the same stage.

Bezalelle · 17/06/2019 20:13

Hi, @wannabemama0812. Really nice to "meet" someone who is at the same stage! How are you feeling?

wannabemama0812 · 17/06/2019 20:19

@bezalelle

I am feeling like I want to be pregnant right this second...! Grin

I'm also apprehensive because my cycles vary, and I hope I can catch this tiny, magical 12-24 hour window. I don't know why I was ever concerned with avoiding pregnancy, when it seems so elusive!

The Clearblue OPKs will arrive tomorrow, so that will be a good start. They aren't cheap, though. I'm wondering if it might be worth it just to splash out £75 straight away on the all-singing, all-dancing, Clearblue fertility monitor. I'll end up spending more than that on OPKs if it takes longer than six cycles anyway. Hmmm...

Must remember to relax! Smile

How are you doing?

Yvonne1988 · 17/06/2019 21:05

Im new to this. Have a 9 year old but I didn't even have to try with her. Stopped my pill on Friday, had only took it for a week this time. Bleeding now hopefully that's away before my bf gets home on Friday :)
Iv been given 6 months for this to happen then we stop so fingers crossed.

But I need somewhere to be annoying with everything I start to feel lol

rosina38 · 18/06/2019 06:39

Hi all
I took my last pill on Sunday. Got loads of mixed emotions going in to this. Very excited but know this has been a difficult for many friends and relatives with being unable to conceive/ miscarriages

I had an abortion 10 years ago, so I know I had the ability then to become pregnant but who knows how my fertility has changed since then and I’m with a different partner. Did the abortion affect my fertility?!?

I’ve got 5 nieces and nephews who I adore but that means I also know the challenge of parenthood!

I’m also quite fearful of birth!!

But most of all I am so excited to become a mother, I know my partner will be the best father too. We are going on honeymoon in July so hoping we might conceive then ;)
